I agree...and I know that I have a tendancy...often :rolleyes: ...to be a little too blunt sometimes. But there are some instances that come up that no matter how nicely you put it, if it's not the desired answer, you are atomatically 'attacking' or should not have 'judged.':( Seems like it's tough to find a good balance.

I think what people are trying to get at here is that we welcome the opinions and advice...that is why we post here. but there is a right way and a wrong way to post your opinions. when you do it in a mean, judgmental way, that is just wrong. you can be nice and still say what you believe or think. just simply thinking of others' feelings would be a great place to start. there are many many times where i don't post because i strongly disagree with what is being posted. and there are times that i strongly disagree...but i try to post my opinion in the nicest way possible...because you just never know who's feelings you might hurt. and if we are all considerate of peoples feelings...this would never be a problem.

yes...tell your opinions...tell your thoughts...but do it with tact. and general consideration.

It is tough to find a good balance but i think that we have to if we want to keep yt a friendly productive place to be.

I will bet there are a ton of members right now that have read this thread but will not post because they fear they will be ridiculed for their opinion and i find that sad:(

I agree. You will always have people that get offended and feel attacked if you so much as just don't agree with them, even if you were super super nice about it. You just have to do the best you can

That is sad...why be afraid to post your opinion?? I don't get it.. Everyone has a right to their opinion. I don't care if someone disagrees with me as long as they are nice about it

Completely understand what you are trying to say, but I think that should go two ways. The person posting a thread should also consider feelings and how what they are going to post may also upset others.:)

but we have to understand....there are a lot of people that are first time yorkie owners that have a LOT of questions that we "veterans" may think are silly or maybe even wrong of them to ask. we all start somewhere. When I had my daughter, I was calling her pediatrician ALL THE TIME asking questions. had they been rude with their answers, i would have been scared to death. it's the same thing here...we have to understand that some people are posting questions or comments that we may not agree with...and yes,..we should tell them our opinions...but we should be considerate about it. you will have the occasional person that gets defensive about what you have to say..but it is each person's individual responsibility to walk away without fighting about it. someone has to stop somewhere.

i think ambers post not only goes out to people that are replying to questions and such,...but to those posting the threads to begin with.

all in all, we should ALL be considerate of how others might feel. some people talk a lot of bad about dogs from pet stores..and we have a lot of wonderful members here with dogs from pet stores....people really need to be careful what they say about pet store dogs because it could really hurt or upset some of the other members...

I don't post very much here, I get my feelings hurt to easily so I'm one that is afraid. I do a lot of reading, and when YorkieRose gives advice, I actually take notes. Very nice lady.

Maybe when the mean posts are spotted, someone can click on the exclamation point triangle and report it right away. I have noticed it is usually the same ones most of the time, not all the time, but most.

I know several people that just read YT because they are afraid of people responding negatively to them. I understand with this many members that someone is always gonna be there waiting for the next chance to start an argument. Those types of people are everywhere. Which is sad. I figure if I have a question and I'd like an honest answer I'll post it anyway. If someone posts back with something snotty then I just pretend like they never even sent it. I usually don't get worked up about it. I just think....they will do that to someone else and within a month they probably won't even be a member anymore, and that's usually the case. For every few bad people on here I can name so many good. Those people keep me coming back. Poo on those negative people. :)
