So the house has been blessed She basically just burned a lot of sage and walked around the house mumbling/chanting. Not quite what I expected (actually I'm not really sure what I expected). I DID sleep better last night than I have in weeks. Other than that I can't really tell where it made much of a difference. |
Well hopefully it worked. DIdn't you say that she has to come back? |
Yes, she said it may take more than once. I told Mike maybe she should just move in with us. lol |
I really hope this works and you find peace in your home. |

Lol. Well I hope she can get it "feeling more comfortable". |
Omg me too! It would be so nice to be a normal person living in a normal house. |
Yeah it would. I couldn't imagine living in that house. I would have moved when I first starting hearing/seeing/questioning things. |
I hope that you can find peace in your house. I'd go to the local historical society to research your house. See what you find. Paranormal beings don't like the smell of sage and will sometimes leave your house. Sometimes they come back even stronger. Are you of a religious denomination? If so, I'd get clergy members to come and bless your house. If all else fails, and activity picks up, you could contact TAPS to see if they can come and do an investigation. NO ONE should feel uncomfortable in their home. THAT IS YOUR HOME and you need to take it back. |

I agree!!! |
If there is a ghost or spirit or presence here in the house, I don't feel that it is bad or evil or anything like that. In fact, it isn't the things like the cabinet doors opening or the television coming on that bothers me. This stuff really doesn't happen that often. The cabinet doors have been opened 4 times total in almost a year. So it isn't like that stuff is an every day occurence. What is bothering me so bad is the heavy feeling on me and the radio noise that sounds like people talking only I can't make out what they are saying. That IS an every day thing and it is driving me crazy and making me feel like I'm losing my mind. |
Gosh, I hope it worked and you can started feeling some peace. This must be very unsettling for you. :( |

I think I asked this on the previous thread - but have you tried recording the sounds w/ a tape recorder at all? BTW, when I first started reading this post, I read it as "she burned a lot of sausage" --- and I was thinking WTF? ('scuse the language) LOL. |

No I haven't tried recording the noises. Mainly because I'm afraid of actually getting something. I'm not sure if the sage helped or not. It did not make it instantly feel lighter like you see it do on television. |
Could you get Holly water and sprinkle it around the house? We have done this to our house a few times when we feel uncomfortable in our older home. I hope things start to settle down for you, you sound so stressed out over this and I wish I could help more!No one should feel like this about their home! Good luck!! |

Also, maybe whatever spirit is in your house is that of a child? That would explain the thing with the tv and cabinets.. a child would find that amusing. Also, with the heaviness, because if the child is alone, he must be sad? *The spirit or whatever was in my mom's house felt at times like that of a child and that of a mean old lady. But seriously, I'd try the holy water. At this point, it can't hurt to try it. |
I'd try the holy water too, and I don't think a clergyman could hurt either. Are things any better? |

I hope the blessing helped,it can't be nice not to feel comfortable in your home. |
It just sucks because I'm scared to hope either way. There is definitely something wrong. If I hope there is really something in the house and it really is 'haunted' that is going to scare the bejeezus out of me. I darn sure don't want to hope that I'm crazy. That thought scares me too. |
Did you try burning incense? A friend of mine had the same problem...she walked around the house with holy water and incense. At each corner of the house she sprinkled some holy water and let the incense stay there for awhile and said a prayer. She does it once a week...and she feels like it is HER home now. Good luck! |
I'm a faithful watcher of TAPS and here is what they have said. If you have a spirit that is making you uncomfortable you need to sit down with your family and simply tell it how you feel. Then tell it that you do not want it in the house anymore and it should move on. By the way they also said that if the experiences are an every-day occurence it probably isn't paranormal. So the radio sounds may, indeed, be radio sounds. Could be coming from wiring in the house making an unusual connection (my thought.) However the open cabinet doors do seem to be paranormal. I agree that you should call TAPS or contact them through their web page. Good Luck and keep us informed. |
When we lived in Texas, we had sounds that came through radios, the tv, baby monitor, the computer speakers. So, we thought that it was just interference of some sort. We then decided that we would unplug these things to make the (demonic) sound stop...soooooooooooo creepy. The worst part was that it would continue even with those things being unplugged. When our daughter was a toddler, she would stop and stare and hysterically scream and shake until we had to take her out of the house. There was even one time that we couldn't find our dog, searched and searched, calling her name. We finally found her hunched in the back of her locked kennel. I didn't put her in there, I had been in the shower and my husband had been in bed. We never believed in evil spirits or anything of the sort so we tried to dismiss it. We finally couldn't dismiss it any longer because of the extreme panic and terror that it was causing our daughter. Anyway, I just wanted you to know that I understand what you are saying. Can I ask if these sounds contiue when you are away from your home?? |
my grandmothers house was built on an old indian cemetery, and she had stuff like this happen in her house, but she could actually see gray shadows of people walking in her house, they would turn on the t.v. the water etc. one day she got up to find her bathtub was full of water... My grandmother would tell them to "go home" or tell them "to walk towards the light"... seems to work for her, maybe try that.... i remember when she pasted away, it was in the summer time and My sister and I were cleaning her house to get it ready to sell it, anyways the a/c has been off in the house for awhile, and it was getting really hot in her house so i asked her if i should turn the a/c on to cool the house down and she said yes and then we hear a yaaa hooo !!! come from upstairs in one of the bedrooms, and it scared the crap out of me but then my bold sister, told the ghost to knock it off and behave we have people coming over this week so we could sell the house... i was ready to run the hell out of there.... |

The sounds I have heard off and on throughout my life. It has just gotten WORSE since we moved here. I used to hear the radio noise every now and then and it was just a radio in the distance. Now, it IS an everyday occurence and its louder. It is loud enough to be irritating, but not loud enough for me to make out exactly what it is. |

sorry that sounds scarey. |
Yep, sometimes I do. Not all the time though. I've lived in other places and heard it. When we went to New Orleans I heard it there. It was so bad there that we actually cut the trip short. |
