Not so hot... So I had a decent time at the working interview today. I was disappointed at the people there though. I felt more like a housekeeper at a hotel. They have so much cleaning and busy work to do, so they mostly ignore the dogs and squirt them with water bottles when they are noisy. And NONE of them were little dog people :( But, I was willing to look past all of that and take the job, til they offered me only 7 bucks an hour and only 5 hour shifts. That isn't worth the gas money to get there! I just can't afford a $7/hr job. I haven't been paid that measely since I was a junior in highschool! So I said just find a highschooler to take the job. THEN, I went to the call center interview, and they said that they wouldn't hire me til January because I wanted to take 5 days off for Christmas to see my family in KS. In your first 90 days, you are not allowed to take more than one day off a week!!! CRAZINESS! But, they did say they will call me in January for a position, HA! Like I can wait that long! I heard them on the phone saying that their larger company gave them the go ahead to hire 500 more people! I can't believe I'd be working with that many people! Plus, I took some online tests, and one of them was some mock-customer calls. Within 5 minutes of the "my phone doesn't work" and "you charged me wrong" I had my head in my hands going, NOW I remember why I stopped doing this. So, no luck so far! But I am waiting for some companies to call me back this week. Did you all know that craigslist has LOADS of job listings? That's where I found these two, and a few others I applied for. Keep your fingers crossed, and thanks for all the support! |

And I am considering being a dog walker. There are loads of dogs in my area that are in serious need of some exercise! And so am I!!! |

I wish we had doggy daycares around here :( |
Awe...sorry to hear it wasn't so great. Sure doesn't sound like a place I'd want to leave Harley! Good thing I met you on here! Lol! The dog walking biz might be a good idea! Maybe you should open up a "proper" doggie daycare! Customized for pampered pets! :D |
Or maybe one for dogs 20 lbs and under! Then it wouldn't have to be so big and wouldn't be as messy!!! I am really good at shameless self promotion, being a musician and all, so I think I could get a dog walking business going in my area. I'd have to find a good place to walk them, though! There are very few sidewalks on my street! |
I think you could do it!:animal36 |
Maybe we should go into business together! ;) |
Now theres an idea! Although it will be a couple of months before I am there! ( But I will be needing a job when I get there so why not start up a business!) Hey if Cedar Park doesn't have a decent doggy botique, daycare, or dogwalker it sure needs one! Its too nice of an area to be going without! :) |
i'd take the telephone job..yeah you love dogs now..but after being in there caring for all those and picking up after them..it gets annoying. I worked for a pet store and I thought it would be fun since I like pets..nope..you only THINK its playing with them all day but its much more. No dogs are like your own. |

I think we are on the same boat kinda. I applied for a job at a pet boutique but they also sold dogs, mostly yorkies. I thought i would get to atleast help with more the 'dog' part, playing with them, etc. but it was more for sales associate, ugh i hate sales. I kep wanting to play with the dogs and entertain them and the ppl working there that actually got to groom the dogs, play with them didn't look so happy. I'm like give THAT job to me, who actually loves dogs:rolleyes: I quit the 1st day, or rather 'decided' not to work there:p Quote:
