Thanks, B. J. I do understand that many pets have been recovered with the use of this tool. But, I've learned the hard way not to blindly trust anyone - even those in the medical field. One such example that changed our lives was my daughter's reaction to the dpt vaccine. Please,see here for her story. While most children are unaffected, if it's your child - one is too many. .........:thumbup: :thumbup: That's what I'm thinkin'. Like the pharmaceutical companies who clean up on vaccines that should NOT be given to babies whose neurological systems are not even developed yet! Or, the pediatricians who don't question the fillers and binders that go into these vaccines they push into our children; because said doc knows "mom" will be unhappy to see her baby stuck multiple times insead of just the one. How many children are now on daily doses of Ridlan and other drugs to combat ADHD, and ADD? Many researchers are now admitting that these conditions "may be vaccine relate".

Better safe than sorry. I'll do all I can, and that includes microchipping, to insure my babies get back home if they are ever lost.

Its a worrying article, however I believe that the risk of them getting lost or stolen is higher than the risk of a tumor.

But here is something I would like to add....
what about the people that have had yorkies or any other breed stolen from them, you know that the thief is going to sell them!! Why else would they steal them. If the dog/puppy is microchipped and the buyer takes the puppy to vet the chances of the actuall person who owns the dog getting it back are 100 times better than if they had no microchip at all.

I must admit I read it and then re-read it again just to clarify.
My knee jerk reaction was great now look at what you have gone and done. I had Annie microchipped last year.
But after re-reading the article what I came to realize was this was done on mice, that the article even said are extremely sensitive. Which I did not realize, I thought mice were hardy little buggers!

Right now, today, I do not regret having her microchipped. All I have to do is remember back almost 1 year ago, when I had gotten out the car with her and this man and woman blocked my vehicle so it could not go forward and started screaming at me "That's my dog, That's my dog, YOU stole my dog!" My response was "WHAT you think this is your dog? I flew to TN to get her! This is not your dog!!!" I got back in my car, with them moving towards me, put it in reverse and left. Called my husband who said "are they following you?" Following me?!!! I checked, no they were not.
I soon found out, that an elderly couple had their yorkie ripped from their hands in one of our local stores and the woman was making a bee line for the doors when she was stopped by employees.

I think each of us has to do what is right for us.

I agree, do you remember several years ago when an article came out that said Peanut Butter caused cancer?
