it's true. i tend to be the one always looking for a home for a rescued creature LOL i love it tho. and they dont go anywhere unless i think they will be better off than they are with me. and that is hard to find most times ;) |
She's adorable! I'm wondering if the mother cat left her there. Sometimes they will carry off their kittens if you don't watch them. Maybe you could call her misty for mystery |
Awww, how adorable! I've hand-raised several ltters of kittens, and some other species of animals too, and its so rewarding. |
How cute! Lucky little thing that you heard it! I think its awesome that your pups are all "mothering" the baby, awww:love: You should become a vet or something:laugh: |
Awww what a sweet little baby. :p |
How about a no kill shelter? |
what a cute and tiny little kitten...that is amazing that it just wound up in the back of your truck...and into the arms of a caring individual...best of luck, keep us updated on what you do with him/her. Luckily the kitten found you! |
i have been speaking with a lovely lady that runs a place called "twisted wiskers". I want to do some more research but she sounds like she is a wonderful person. Basically, they only handle cats...but they take in strays and babies of all ages and foster them until they find a new home. The screen the new homes intensely and keep tabs on the kittens. They get them all of their shots and are NO KILL and if ever the kitten does not work out at it's new home, they will take it back. I am waiting for a call from one of the ladies that actually nurses the kittens in her home to see how I feel about this. I have offered to foster the kitten until they find it a new home...so we will see what happens. I hate for such a small baby to go through too many different hands at such a young age. I would imagine they get used to your smell and get comfortable with that. so far, so good. i took her to the vet and she is weighing 1.25 oz. she is sooooo tiny. she is eating really well and is going potty really good too!!!! |
we are at a hotel tonight in Alabama and she is doing really well with the trip. She didn't really want to eat today so i gave her some KMR instead of the other brand that I was feeding her and she seems to really love it. so she is finally eating the amount that I think she should be eating. I am still debating on wether or not to send her to this rescue organization. The good thing about it would be that she would be with other kittens close to her age. The lady that has offered to take her is nursing 5 other kittens. So, i kinda think it would be good for sugar to be with the other kittens. BUT...I'm so scared of where she might end up. I would almost rather just nurse her until she is old enough and then find a home for her among my friends. I don't know...I'm so very torn right now about it. But yes, I am getting attached and she is too. she loves to snuggle up on my neck and sleep in my hair LOL so...it will be very hard to let her go. which is why i have so much trouble with the idea of the rescue place. i could use your prayers on this...it is so hard to know what would be the right thing to do.... |
She is so cute and omg so tiny! That kitty found you! aww have you nursed a kitten before? Or is this your first time? It's def. fun to watch them grow! |

Our Min Pin is like this, too. She did that with stuffed animals, too. It was so sad. Then she would just cry and cry. We found out that she couldn't have puppies, but she kept having these pseudo-pregnancies and she would actually lactate and "feed" these stuffed animals because she really thought they were hers. Broke my heart :( Then our cat had kittens and she stole one of them as her own. Poor thing has a scar on top of her eye from where the cat attacked her when she came to get her baby back  :( |

Aww, :( that makes me sad. Poor baby |
well, i am dropping kitty off today at the foster home. They will nurse her, give her all of her shots, make sure she is healthy and find her a great home. I am meeting with the owner and the foster mom at the same time and plan on drilling them and making sure their screening process is good. I have gotten very attached to the little squeeker and want to be reassured that she will go to a great home. i will miss her :( :( |
