These are cute and afforable. http://www.abcfavors.com/index.asp?P...ROD&ProdID=124 |
My aunt just did a girl shower for my cousin. Some games that were played: 1. (kind of gross, but everyone had a blast)....take a few diapers, place one mini candy bar (snickers, twix, etc) in each diaper. Heat it up, just to melt the candy bar. Number each diaper. Each guest has a piece of paper with numbers on it (the same number has you have diapers). Pass around the diapers and each guests writes down what kind of candy bar was in the diaper. There were no hints given and there was a timer so everyone had plenty of time to see the yucky looking diapers. The winner that got all the candy bars right, won a gift. She did a gift bag full of candy bars and hard candies. If there was a tie, my cousin (who the shower was for) would pick a number, write it down and the two that were tied, guessed the number. 2. They had a word scramble sheet turned over at each chair at the table. It was just typed up on plain pink paper. They had words like: highchair, daiperbag, etc...but mixed up like: hircagih etc. I think they had about 24 words plus one bonus word (which was the name of the baby...which they mention that she was going to name the girl that at the beginning of the shower). Whoever got all 24 right got a gift bag (with a candle, shower gel, lotion, etc). If you got all 25 (the bonus word) you got an extra gift. 3. Another games was a big plastic baby filled with pink and white M&M's, you had to guess how many were in there. The one with the guess that was close to the number won. 4. Another game was a tray that had baby items on it...like small clippers, Q-tips (4), mittens, diaper, etc. You had a timed amount of time to glance over the tray and write down everything you could remember. If you got them all or had the highest number of correct guesses, you won. Of course, the items on the tray was then given to my cousin for her baby. They got decorations at Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby. I think they went to a Party Store also to get some things. They did simple balloon arrangements on the gift tables and food tables. Small flower arrangements on the guest tables. They had it at the chruch fellowship hall, so they had decorations on the walls and doors. My cousin wore a corsage (sp?). They did simple finger foods...like chips with dip (they did a 7 layer taco dip and rotel dip), mixed nuts, mints, finger sandwiches, home-made cookies, etc. They did make a pink fizzy punch, but I'm not one for punch mixes...but they had tea and cokes, etc. too. |
Another thing they did...when we all walked in, we wrote our names on a name tag...each name tag had a mark or number on it, which I didn't notice. Throughtout the shower, if your number was picked, you got a small goodie bag. Also, when we walked in, there was a journal type book, where we got to write a quick message for the mom and new baby. I thought that was neat. Oh, they did a separate tables for baby gifts (separate from the goodie gift table) that was decorated really cute (in Winnie-the-Pooh stuff)...this made it easy at gift opening time because it was easy for everyone to sit around and pass around the gifts....and see what she got. There was a game where if your birthday was close to the due date (or something regarding birthdays) you won a little gift too. And a game where there was a bowl of uncooked rice with saftey pins. You were blind folded and you had to pick out all the safety pins...which was a lot harder than I thought it would be. |

I just went to one and they gave baby bottles with mints in them as party favors they were really cute. They also played the baby clothespin game. Everyone gets a clothespin to put on them, and you can't say the word BABY. If you here someone say BABY you take their clothespin. The person with the most clothespins at the end of the shower get's a little present. Hope this helps. |

That is great! Those sound like some fun and hilarious games! You gave me so many ideas Jen, thanks so much! I think we are def. going to do the diaper game, i found this http://www.simplybabystuff.com/sbashgacabai.html |
Is there any game that is similar to that donkey tail game where you have to be blindfolded and put the tail on the donkey except with babies? |

They have so many neat things there! Btw, it's not really a game but we had someone greet all the guests arriving at my shower with a roll of ribbon [pink,of course] and the guests had to guess "how big my belly was" and the ribbon will be cut to that length.. Do you follow me? :) Then towards the end off the shower, the guest with the closest guess/length ribbon gets a "prize"--could be anything from tea to a cute candle. Email me if you need any more ideas..xxxxx |
