If you don't feel better come morning, please call your doctor. You don't want to jeapordize your upcoming surgery by something terrible like a fall. I don't even want to get on my soapbox about them being responsible for your fall....... |
part of the reason I didn't want to go to the hospital was because I was afraid if anything else was wrong because of the fall that it might stall the surgery. I am very stressed and scared about the surgery how it is, I couldn't stand for it to be postponed. Kmart is suppose to call and check on me tomorrow. I have a copy of the accident report. |
Aaaaw... Roxanne, I am so sorry this happened to you last night. Hope you are feeling better this morning. If the dizziness persists though, please have yourself checked out by a doctor, even though it is the weekend. You don't want to take the chance Hon, that those stones moved in a way that could worsen your condition. You need to look after yourself, build up your strength before the surgery. We are all pulling for you here. Let us know how you are doing, and please, please take it easy in the next few days so that your body can recover as best it can from the fall. Hugs, Lauren |

So sorry to hear this. I agree with laurenr and Tink's Mom, it is only fair to your surgeon to know everything and certainly best for you. You are in my thoughts and i pray all works out well. Try not to be too stressed. |
i only was able to sleep a few hours at a time last night, I was hurting rather bad. I had to go and help set stuff up last night and today. There was really no other people to do it, so I just took my time when I could. I sat when I was getting dizzy. Not nearly as dizzy as yesterday but still happening. My ex boyfriend got drunk and said it was my fault...because I wasn't looking at the ground. BUT who looks at the ground when they are shopping. I was looking at the shelves at the stuff I wanted to buy, but I never expected a big puddle in the middle of the walk way either. He later said sorry and that it wasn't my fault. He asked me to please see a doctor if I am still hurting tomorrow. I have no insurance, I luckily got assistance for my surgery thru u of m. |
Try to get a nice warm - not hot - bath if you can tonight and tomorrow. It should help you relax. If you have some epsom salts, that will help too. I'm so sorry you're feeling bad from the fall. I hope you can heal from that quickly. Good luck on Wednesday! |
I ended up in the er on sunday night. I was in the worse pain I have had so far. Plus I was throwing up and extremely dizzy. My mom made it from north of flint down to ann arbor in record time...LOL. Turns out I have an urinary tract infection now as well. They said that might because of the stones. now they are saying the stones are on the same side. I am completely confused. I don't care as long as they are out of my body soon. I really think the throwing up and dizziness was from the fall, I didn't have those probs until after that. Kmart still has not called to check on me like they said they would. which I think is BS. If someone fell in my home or somewhere, I would at least call like I said I would and see how they are doing. My surgery is at 9 am and I have to be there at 7 30 am. I am very very scared. I am eager to get it over with BUT I am also extremely scared. I never had surgery in my life. |
You did tell them in the ER about the fall though, right? Just want to make sure they checked that out at the same time. No one needs any surprises when you're having surgery. This will be behind you very very soon and you can get starting on the mending process. We'll be thinking of you!! |
yes I told them about the fall. I even told them that I was not feeling sick to my stomach or dizzy until after the fall. I got an iv, some stronger pain meds and anti neasous meds while in the hospital. Then when I got home, I got an antibiotic. I will just be thrilled when this whole ordeal is over with. |
Wishing you all the best...give us an update when you can...and I would certainly contact the store and talk to them about that fall...it not doubt increased the pain you were already having... PS...glad to hear that boyfriend is an EX..! You do not need such a negative person in your life! Spend your life with positive people. Positive people, attract positive people and vise versa...Best wishes |
I'll be praying for you and like Pat said, I would surely get ahold of Kmart when your surgery is over and I would mention that you expected a call from them but nothing came. You're going to be ok, I just know it. Hugs, Joan |
How are you feeling now? Did you have the surgery? I hope that went well and that there were no repercussions from the fall. Quote:

I am so pleased you are feeling better since the fall and that you clued your doctors in about it. I am sure the meds helped a lot. I will thinking of you tomorrow, praying for a speedy recovery. Please, when you can, let us know how you are doing, or perhaps your Mom could come here briefly to give us an update. |
I will try to get on here as soon as I can. IF and only if, they have to do the thru my back surgery, I will be in the hospital a few days. They said they would most likely do that the same day, if that is needed. I am hoping its not needed. As long as I don't need the thru my back surgery, I should be home the same day. Just not sure when I will be able to be up and moving around. |
I just wanted to post and let everyone know I made it through the surgery. I still have the big one in there and now I have a stint. I don't hurt nearly like I did. I think he takes out the stint in about a week and then he will decide what to do about the second stone. |

Good news, im so glad you made it thru surgery:) |
I spent my doped up time, in the bath tub....which was not a wise move...LOL. I kept waking up when I would slide down into the water. I was wanting to go shopping right after the surgery. My mom kept saying no you don't. I got sick on the car ride from ann arbor to north of flint, so I guess she was right, I didn't really want to go shopping. Doc says I should be able to go shopping tomorrow. My mom found really cute puppy clothes at burlington coat factory. So I am eager to go check it out. Just wish I knew what was happening with the other stone. I can't wait for the stint to be removed as well. It doesn't hurt but its uncomfortable. Poor Aurora doesn't understand why mommy doesn't want to play. Finally she curled up on my lap and slept. I guess I should go rest, so that I can go shopping tomorrow :D |
Oh Honey!! I am sooooo pleased you are through your surgery and contemplating shopping already!! Shows me that you're feeling so much better.:) Just one thing though, while you are "doped up" on pain meds, please do not take a bath without someone very close by! I would worry about you slipping/falling asleep in the water. Hugs to you. Hope Aurora is keeping you company. Lauren |
WOW, I am surprised to see you... I was just going to send you a "get well message" and found your message here... that is super that you are doing so well... behave yourself and get better soon... d |
I made the mistake of not taking my pain meds until aroun 9 30pm....so now I am suffering. As bad as it is, its not anything like the pain I had before. My nephew stayed here to help take care of me while the rest of my family went out. They had plans that were made way in advance. I have the clock set so it can wake me in 4 hours to take more meds. I think I might try to nap. I was very scared but it was definately worth the surgery to feel this much better. |
I think you should hold off on shopping for a few days. Take it easy tomorrow, watch some soaps on tv, and give it a rest. You don't want to overdo............. |

I went out to eat, shopping and to visit my g-ma. I did do too much, I think, but tonight and tomorrow I am resting. I am kinda sore tonight. I have a bad habit of doing too much if I feel ok. I am back at my own home now and will rest. I definately have to stay healthy so they can get this second stone out whenever they are ready to. I haven't done my hair and makeup in so long, but I was up for it today. My hair has just been back in a ponytail, my neice didn't realize my hair was cut until today when I had it down and done all cute. I got on my makeup and jewerly as well. Doc will have the results from the stone they removed, in about a week. He thinks they are uric acid ones. I started reading up on them, only 10% usually have that kind. Mostly men get those too. Usually connected to gout or chemo. No clue why I got it, if that is the type I do have. No point in worrying about it until he can tell me more. I still haven't got a call from kmart to see how I was after the fall. Doubt I will hear from them. I wasn't sure if I should call them, but my mom says I should write the store manager and corprate offices. But on a happy note, Aurora got new clothes when I went shopping. Burlington coat factory has such cute stuff. Might as my ex to snap a few pics of her showing off her new shirt and coat. |
Glad to hear you're doing well!! I think I would write a letter. I think companies are more apt to respond to something in writing (make sure to make yourself a copy) than a phone call that has no permanent record. Take Care. |
my ex said to scan the accident report and send copies with each letter as well. I know I can't prove that the fall made me feel worse or its the cause of my er visit, so its not like I want to sue or anything. I just feel like a call to see how I was doing is not that much to ask esp when they said they would. My mom even heard them say oh yeah I forgot that door leaks....so they had issues with that door leaking in the past and it was never corrected. If it was handled before I wouldn't have fell. BUT I guess I should be thankful it was before I had the surgery not after. I am sure it would have been bad to fall that hard with the stint in. At burlington today, I made sure I was holding on to the cart the whole time, wasn't going to risk falling. One great thing is U of M charity care even covered my prescriptions when I had them filled at the hospital pharmacy. I wish I knew that after my er visit since the ones they prescribed where over $50 and $100. I had to get other meds instead. |
