im a nervous WRECK !! =[ first off, dont tell me to "grow up" . okk . here goes ... im 13 and VERY VERY close to my mommy . she's my best friend in the world . she just told me today that she was flying to Florida (we live in NJ) next friday to visit her mom cause its her 70th birthday . anyway ... she is going by herself and i can't help but worry about her . i just hope that she''l be okay by herself . :( :( :( keep her in your prayers PLEASE . thank you . |
Why would someone tell you to grow up for worrying about your mom? Where will you be while she's in Florida? |
My mom is my best friend too, cherish your relationship with your mother! I worry about my mom everyday when she's gone when she travels out of state for work and vacation! I will pray for safe travel for your mother. |

Awww :) I think it is VERY sweet that you are worried and concerned about your mom. It is good to see a kid that cares SO MUCH and is worried about their parents well being. I don't think anyone here would EVER tell you to "grow up" for that :) I'm sure your mom will be just fine and I will keep her in my prayers ok? Try not to worry yourself sweetie :) |
Same here! My mom is my best friend, too! I think it is something special when a 13 year old worries about her mom's safe travel! Our family will be praying for her--and you too! :) P.S. Don't ever be embarrassed about loving (or worrying about) your family! :) |

I'm 19 and was in tears when we were flying on the 14th AND when we were flying back on the 21st. My 14 year old sister was cool as a cucumber next to me though :rolleyes: We're okay, though :) and your Mom will be too :love-hug3 |
I am also very close to my mom. I would worry just as you are. I think it's great when daughters can be close to their mothers. It's something really special! :) |
Praying for a safe trip for your mom. I'm very CLOSE to my mom as well.. she has been there for me and i her. we've been through so much and just brings us closer. she just found out that she has a spot on her brain. in the front which is the pituitary gland.(master gland) we're not sure how fast its growing or how big. she goes the 24th of sept. to find out what they can do. i say prayers that the lord will take this away from her. if you believe in the lord anything is possible!!! so yeah i can understand how you feel... |
Its perfectly normal to worry about a loved one when they are traveling! Bet your mom is smart and tough though and will be just fine :) :) Im 30 and worry about my mom still... but when she does do something I still look up to her and know in my head that if she can do it I can too!!! Im flying alone for the first time in my life in Dec. Im scared that I wont get it... Im scared I'll miss my connecting flight, that I wont find my gate, etc... What makes me feel more comfortable is that my mom flew here from New Mexico (same flight Im taking) by herself twice now! If she can do it, then I can too!!! :) :) mother/daughter relationships are special!! |
YOu are so sweet to be concerned about your mom... She will be fine, I feel sure... I am a mom of 2 teenagers and LOVE them dearly, it is good tho, when I get to "get away" from the real world... Hope she has a great time! d |
Your mom will be fine. I'm sure you will be talking to her on the phone. She probably loves her mom as much as you love her, and your mom does not get to see her every day. My mom is also my best friend (and I am 51 years old). All my life, she has been my best friend. My mom lives in Florida and I live in CT. My mom and dad come to visit me in the summer, and I go and visit them in the winter. Your mom's visit will be over before you know it. |

mom is my best friend also.. its the greatest too... we hang out all the time. we shop together , usually on saturdays and she comes over my house all the time... last night she came over and dyed my hair, we ate taco bell. and tonight she is hellping me make chocolate covered pretzels for a party im going to.... its so much fun.. cherish all you can with mom...they are simply the best... i worry all the time about my mom as she does with me.. without her, i would be nothing. |

My mom is my best friend too. :) I'll keep her & you in my prayers! My mom used to travel A LOT for work (one time she was gone for 10 days. that was awful). She retired last year though, and I love having her around now. |
I have a 13 year old daughter and you sound so much like her. I'm sending you a big hug! You are never too old to worry about people you love. My daughter flew by herself this summer and I cried my eyes out until she had landed safely. I know you probably know deep in your heart that flying is very very safe and your mom will be just fine. My mom is my best friend too and I feel so lucky to have a wonderful daughter. There is nothing better than having a special mother/daughter bond. In the meanwhile, enjoy being the lady of the house and keep the boys in line.:p |
