The seam ripper, pins & pattern. |
glad to know i'm not the only one that uses the seam ripper a lot LOL |
My clapper, my seam roll and my tailor chalk are my best sewing friends. I could never finish a garment without those. Of course most of the other things I need too. But these make my garments look so much nicer than many home-made items. I love to sew. Sometimes when I make a mistake I love ripping it out, thinking about how I won't do it that way again, and trying to think of a better way to do it.:) |

Okay, I didn't know what a clapper was but looked it up. If anyone is as ignorant as me, maybe this will help: http://www.fabriclandwest.com/Notion...ly_sewing_.htm |

Ok, I have been enlightened....you learn something new everyday :) I also didn't know what a clapper was....Ignorant me...I thought it was that thing that you used on your livingroom/bedroom lights...clap on/clap off... :) Now I know !!!!!! |

That's funny! You made me laugh. I guess it would be important to have light to see when you are sewing! I had seen a clapper before, but didn't know what it was called. I just knew it as that thing that made ironing sleeves easier. |
Oh yes, and I forgot fray stop! |
Great question. Someone just sent this to me, I use to love, love to sew. Washer/Dryer, first thing I do when I buy fabric is to pre-wash/dry it. Ready to sew, whenever. My five drawer roller caddy for keeping sewing supplies organized. I always appreciated my bias seam makers, have all the sizes. Embroidery hoop, as loved doing monograming and embroidery work with my sewing machine. Narrow paper tape, (used for holding bangs) I found this to be so helpful when sewing on slipperfy fabrics. Easily removed. Liquid sew, to tiny tack things to top stitch instead of using pins, also comes in handy many times over with sewing projects. I look forward to when I can sew again, especially for the girls :) Patti |
