| New Family Member From Shelter My hubby is out golfing this morning (one of his Father's day gifts) so I have time to post this I just had to share with you the news about our latest family member -- Midnight! No, he's not a yorkie, he's a 9 week-old kitten, we got him to soothe the broken hearts of my son and daughter after our last kitten, Flower, died unexpectedly (I posted about her in the RIP section here). Anyway, we rescued him from our local shelther yesterday that was having an adopt-a-thon at PetSmart. He only has 3 legs and about 1/2 of his tail -- such an amazing little booger, he can actually outrun my two yorkies, both of whom adore him already!! I will try to take some pictures of them playing and sleeping together soon and post them. This poor little guy had a rough start. Some sick person really hurt him. His tail was cut off, and one of his legs was partially cut-off and he was tied up in a wal-mart sack and thrown in the dumpster to die. Someone found him, rushed him to a vet, the vet saved him and then placed him with the shelter to be adopted. They had about 25 kittens at the adopt a thon and we held and played with more than half! I thought we were going to get a different one when my son heard them mention they had a special needs kitty with only 3 legs, he had to hold it and see it -- he's so compassionate! Anyway, my daughter had to hold him next, and then I did.....and of course we had to have him! He's such a purr ball we already love him to pieces!

| I think all the wives are busy with hubbies doing something great for Fathers Day. Isn't it awful-man's inhumanity to beast and man...Your new kitty is one lucky baby to have survived such cruelties. Is he suspicious or timid with people? You would think he would run and hide from anything on 2 legs..namels, humans. |

| Thank you Oh....Thanks guys for all the kind words....I'm just like a new mommy.....bursting with the news of our little kitten and I just had to share it with someone (I've already told most of our family members and closest friends LOL) Whispersmom2 -- He was a little nervous and shy when he first came home yesterday morning, but by last night, he was purring and rubbing and cuddling with everyone and pouncing and playing with my yorkie babies! He is right at home with us and we couldn't be happier!

| Tara, thank you and your wonderful kids for taking the baby that had the least chances in life!! I think it is wonderful that your kids passed up all the perfect kitties to give this one a home. You should be proud to have raised them. On the other hand I hope whoever did that to that poor kitten gets EXACTLY what they deserve in life too. |

| What an awesome thing you did and it will be amazing how much this special little kitty will add to your family. I deeply believe that when you rescue an animal...that they know it. Most rescued animals are the most devoted and loving creatures! (Not that all the other animals aren't..lol...) Can't wait to see some pictures! |
