Do you drink Aquafina bottle water???Tapwater?? OMG, I spend alot of money on bottle water, my favorite is Aquafina or Ozarca water;) I just heard in the news that they are going to start putting on the labels that is TAPWATER:eek: because that is all it is:eek:. People always tried to tell me this but I thought they were lying but I guess not:eek: |
Yep....the funny thing that there is also a lawsuit against the makers of Poland Spring. It has been said that the spring that they reference has been dried up a long time ago...lol. Listen be for real how clean can water be that although it's been up in the mountains.....there are animals bathing, fishing and pooing in it. Every water is being refined before it's bottled so I can't see paying way more money for waters such as Evian, Fiji, Pelligrino and such vs the cheaper bottled stuff like aquafina and poland. I will still drink tap water. We pay to have that refined too. So with bottled water we are paying twice over. We pay once to refine it with our taxes and then again to the company that bottles it. I have a water filter I purchased attached to my sink and filter water for the fridge from there. I don't care to spend on a bottle all the time. If I do I reuse that bottle. |
Ive heard that as well... I drink Wal~Mart bottle water - not so much bc its bottled but its cheap and convenient. We have yummy tap water here in my town. And the water @ work is filtered. I heard on the news that all the bottle water is bad for the kiddos teeth bc it doesnt have the fluoride in it that tap does. |
Tap water is also tested and maintained under strict federal laws and guidelines, unlike bottled water. When I realized this is true, I figured WHY am I spending so much money on something that I don't really know WHERE it came from? So, now I drink tap water (we have a filter too).....most new refrigerators with a water dispenser have filters too, so I think that it's about as good as we can get it. Luckily, we don't live somewhere that the water is bad tasting; my grandparents used to live somewhere that they put sulphur in the water....P. U...and it tasted just as bad, even if it was refrigerated:( . |
This information about Aquafina is not new, but perhaps because it comes from the City of Detroit Water plant, we Michiganders who get Detroit water have known this for a long time!!! I think our tap water tastes really good and I only drink bottled water for a convenient take along. There are some that definitely have unique tastes - Dasani, for example, I think has a very strange taste to it!! |
I don't like tap water and I don't like the water from the fridge. I don't like Poland Springs or Aquafina I am addicted to Costco - Kirkland Signature (Mountain Spring Water) I can't find anything on this water - does anyone know if this is tap water too? I happen to like Dasani (here and there) - but my friend just pointed out to me that they add SALT (it says so on the bottle  ) |
nestle' water is my favorite. it has a sweet taste to it. and i will drink ozarka if it's on sale. i always thought aquafina had an odd taste. i found some filtered water called "essence." it has fruit juice in it, but no sweeteners. the pear is so delicious! they make a bottled water for kids that has floride in it i think. i just like it for the convenience. |
On occasion when I'm not at home I will drink bottled water but at home I drink tap water we have a well that filters through some sort of rock system and this is the only water that I really like city water tastes really gross to me now that I have been drinking well water for the past 7 years. |
we used to live out in the country so we were on a well, and the water out there tastes so good. We just moved into town, so we drink a lot more bottled water now. Usually just pick up a case from Costco. edit to say, Aquafina always has tasted different to me, much like tap water. Whoever started that company is making some pretty money. |
I've known about Aquafina and Dasani for a long while too. They use the tap, but filter it over and over. They are still allowed to sell it, but they can't say that it's "spring" water. They have to say purified, but I thought they did already. I started drinking bottled water years ago when we had a major chlorine smell in the tap water. It was then I started buying bottled. I just continued b/c I found that I drank more water when it was bottled! I would just grab and go. I still have left over Poland Spring bottles from when I moved out of my apartment. So I have that and I have a filter system from my fridge. But, when I go to a convenience store for water, my favorite water is Fuji. |
use to drink only bottled water but I saw something similar to that on TV before and tap is fine now. It's all H2O. |

i was told that coca-cola and pepsi both sell their bottled water (aquafina and desani) are both basically the water they use when making the soft drinks...only with nothing added. so yes, basically tap water. amazing how they can take their "pre-soft drink" water and sell it for 2 times as much as they actually sell the "soft drink". but, i guess this publicity will probably hurt them. i think they deserve it. i usually only drink spring water if i buy it...but more often than not, i just get filtered water from my fridge and bottle it...it's cheaper :) |
Well, I have decided to buy a filter instead of buying bottled water, what I am paying for the bottle and brand?:D :D I will buy some bottles because it's convientent;) and I drink more water if I carry a bottle with me:D |
All of the major brands of bottled water are!! Dasani is the WORST, it's full of chemicals and stuff. I drink Nestle PureLife. Mostly because the tap water in our area is disgusting & has been proven to cause kidney stones  We're advised not to drink it. Chloe drinks bottled, too. When I lived in NC, though, we drank tap because it was yummy. We only used bottled for convenience. |
To me all water tastes the same  I buy Fiji a lot though cause I really like the bottle :D It's purrrrty |

Oh, and I went here: http://www.fijiwater.com/Artesian.aspx I guess Fiji is technically rainwater! LOLOLOL Tap is too, isn't it? LOL I think we're seriously gett'n ripped! LOLOL |
Well think about it. Where else would they get water from? A river? A lake? the swamp? All drinking water comes from a city water source or a well. I've always hoped it was tap water because the other sources don't sound too appealing. What they do is to filter out all the the minerals from the water, minerals that your body needs. It just goes to show you, with the right marketing, you could sell ice to and Eskimo. disclaimer Not intended as a slam to the Eskimos. |

What most people don't think about, is that there is NO NEW WATER. All the water that is on earth, has been here since the beginning of time. It just gets recycled. You are drinking the same water that people drank thousands of years ago. |

i used to drink aquafina until a year ago, when it started to taste funny. dasani was never a favorite of mine because they have sodium in the ingredients and you can taste it. for some reason, the filtered water in my sink and refrigerator have an odd taste to it, so i rarely drink it. more recently i've been drinking the new SMARTwater (by glaceau) that's available. it's vapor distilled water with electrolytes added in. i was expecting a weird taste from it, but it's the purest fresh crisp bottled water i've had in a long time. it's kind of pricey, thus i tend to buy a case from costo every other month and then stick with fuji (my all time favorite). |
whoops. i meant fiji too. haha. i'm sitting here eating a fuji apple with my fiji water. :D |
I drink plain old tap water with lots of tap water ice cubes.;) |
I'm reading some of your comments and I'm wondering if anyone feels that dessani tastes weird! like really harsh and disgusting compared to other water |
Yeah I knew about this a while back. The rule for bottled water is: if it says "purified (drinking) water"... it's basically tapwater if it says "spring water"... it MUST be spring water So, just make sure you are buying spring water and not purified! |

I have bottled water for convenience if I need to take it with me, but generally it is TAPWATER that goes down my system :) . WA (spokane area)water is amazing and have been tested to be far better than most bottled water (as discussed in the local news :) ) so i couldn't be happier :) |
After reading the PH Miracle, I stopped drinking bottled water and started drinking distilled. Bottled water has a lower PH where distilled is closer to neutral. I also started adding baking soda to raise the PH and make it alkaline which is what the body needs. The book is very interesting and says that the American lifestyle causes the body to be acidic and that is why we have diseases and we are so sick. The body needs an alkaline environment to keep the blood healthy to fight bacteria, funguses, viruses and other diseases. IT tastes a little salty at first but I dont like to drink any water anymore without it in it. IT seems like it is missing something now and I feel so much better since I have been adding the soda to the water. |
When I worked at an environmental testing lab, we tested tons of water. Even bottled water sometimes tests positive for coliform. And some of it is just tapwater. IMO the best water is artesian well water - if you are lucky enough to be near one. |
