I am so very happy my search is finally over
 

:thumbup: As a few of you know, over the last few weeks I have been researching and going to demo's as time permit in hopes of finding the perfect Embroidery Machine. I had started a thread to seek other experienced sewers for their experiences (http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...ht=embroidery). It is during this search that I realized that these machines have come a long way . . . . everything is computerized now. I tell you these machines sure are expensive TOYS but oh boy you surely will get hooked.

My first choice was a Bernette 340 (made by Bernina) as I initially just wanted an embroidery and monogramming machine and did not think to need another sewing machine. I have a Bernina that is servicing my needs for over 15 years now and I have been very happy with it. It was a birthday present from my dear hubby. Anyway, I was really SOLD on this one until I saw the Husqvarna Designer SE machine (by Viking). Boy that equipment has all the bells and whisltles you can find . . the embroidery quality is outstanding and you have to buy this software that will pretty much convert any picture or artwork into digitized format. The lady that gave the demo was really goodtoo so of course I was SOLD on it. . . but when I told the hubby about it he was in total shock at the price tag hee-hee and thought I had gone crazy. He said I could have gotten a used car with that price hahahaha. I must have indeed. So I went back to the Bernina store and had the sales person demo the Benette 340 and that is when I realized I don't really want it. This was like a week ago. Yesterday, I went back to the Bernina store for a software demo and although I LOVE their sewing machines the best, their top of the line is even MORE expensive than the Husqvarna Viking brand. Prior to yesterday I had already gone in and they showed me some of the features of their sewing machine/embroidery and really LOVED it too but their prices was even higher yikes.

Anyway, the lady convinced me that the Bernette 340 is not the way to go if I was going to be using this for a very long time . . . so she showed me the features of their sewing/embroidery machine one more time and of course it is no surprise that I am SOLD on the machines. I went home and told hubby about the lady's recommendation to stay away from the Bernette and get a sewing/embroidery machine instead . . .I told him what I wanted and to my surprise, he said "okay just get it". I sure was taken by surprise . . . of course I found out a few minutes after that he shot the best round of golf ever so he was in a pretty GREAT mood . . .perfect timing for me huh!

Anyway, I am going back to the store today and will soon be the proud owner of a Bernina Artista 630e sewing/embroidery machine . . . . the quality on this machine is outstanding . . . I am in cloud 9 that's for sure. I will hold off on getting the software version 5 that will be capable of converting any picture to digitized format until I am a bit familiar with the machine . . . .

I want to thank Linda (Fufufashion) for all her advise and suggestions and experiences as well as Mitzi'sMom and Sassywear - Melinda for all the information and experiences they shared about their machines on the thread I posted.

I hope to get up to speed in learning this new machine so I can do embroidery and monogramming on some of my collections.

Get busy.....I'm sure we'll all be ordering. Now you can make personalized blankets with there names. lol I'm sure we can all think of a million things we'll be wanting...hehehehe:) :) :)

Girl I am SOOOOOOO Jealous! You are going to have so much fun with an embroidery machine!

OH boy! Personalized doggie wear!!! I can't wait! Congratulations on your new machine. I know you'll love it once you get used to it! And I'm SURE you'll have it all figured out by the time the Winter line is ready:D . I think new machines of any kind are FUN!!! Enjoy yours:) .

Des, I'm so glad to hear!!! Yipee...I know searching for the right task is so daunting, especially if you are literally spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a machine. (btw, thanks for the PM, sometimes I miss threads when I'm way too busy to go on YT)

Now that you found a wonderful machine, I'm sure we will see many more wonderful creations from you!!!

OH MY GOODNESS Des, you are so talented and always coming up with things I HAVE to have...I can not imagine what you are going to come up with now that you have this MACK-DADDY machine. :D :D

Oh Des I am so happy that you finally got your embroidery machine! I know you have been wanting one for a while now ;) The one you have chosen sounds WONDERFUL...and I know that you are going to have SO much fun with it :D

Des I have been looking at the viking you were looking at and I am wondering why you chose the Bernina over it. I have the little Bernina that i carry to class but i never really considered there embroidery machine over the viking and i was wondering what it was about it that you liked better so it may help me decide which one to get. Hi Betsy . . . a couple of reasons. The top of the line they have (Designer SE) is costing me so much more and although I know they are wonderful machines, I don't have any experience with them :) The one I got is slightly lower than the Bernina top of the line and since I already have a Bernina machine I can attest to its quality and durability. These machines are meant to be handed down to my next of kin :) so I played safe (not that I don't think Viking won't) :) And I think hubby wants me to stick to a Bernina Brand (he got my machine as a b-day gift over 15 years ago and it was used when he bought it :) ) that is why he finally agreed not to mention timing since he played his best round of golf ever :rolleyes: . . My formost concern is the ease of the software to convert any picture or print to digitized form and they both are pretty easy :)

OH I have checked both quality using the same silk thread of course and they both do wonderful work.

I did not know there was a little Bernina? My old one is super heavy :eek:

yes that is my goal. Of course the fall collection hoodies are even better . . it has the embroidered gofetch bone making it super cute :) That part I am not doing . . . I instructed my source to do it :p I would like to eventually be recognized just with the bone logo (kinda like NIke with their swoosh :D :D :D ) . . I know I am aiming way too high :D

Well if it happens Jenn, it will have to be when my girl is done with college (i more year yipee) . . since I am fully responsible for all her college expenses (tuition and R&B) . . .:)

probably not as broke as me :) I think I have sold my soul on this machine and will be in debt for a full year :eek:
