look into this diet called the 5 factor diet that my friend is doing...you get to eat a lot instead of starving yourself....work out 5x a week for 30 minutes, and you get a CHEAT day! My favorite day. There are a lot of stars on this diet that have loss a lot of wt and leaned out. |

I do best if I stay away from breads and pasta and potatoes. If you do eat those things try to only do whole wheat/grains as they are harder to digest and use more calories. Other than that try to get more exercise, take those babies on an extra walk everyday or a longer walk. More muscle mass burns more calories and speeds your metabolism. ( I should take my own advise) |

Hmmmm. My input? Of course, you have to watch what you eat. Drink lots of water--it is good for you and helps you feel full. Eat your vegies first. Eat slow so your body registers that you are full before you quit eating. And it isn't always what we eat, it is what we eat with it. I love asparagus. But it is so much better with gobs of hollandaise sauce. Lobster is better dipped in butter. Baked potato is better with cheese and sour cream... Exercise is really good, but I know that going to the gym isn't for everyone. But you can get exercise in soooo many ways. 1. Park at the end of the lot and walk to the store. 2. Suck in your gut every time you come to a stop (light/sign)--and hold it until you forget. 3. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Course I say all that. The other day we had a thread like this? I was all excited about losing 25 pounds over here? And someone said they had blossomed all the way up to a 14 and were now back to a 6 or 8 or something? I am thrilled to be back to a 14! Course at 5'10" that isn't so bad, really, still I would love to lose another 15 pounds. . .but, alas, I am going back to the land of temptation with a husband who loves to eat! |
I have to agree with the people that say sugar, I have taken out all white bread and switched to sugar free in my espresso drinks. Avoiding things super high in sugar but still having some in moderation. I gained about 60 lbs during my pregnancy and this got me down to 120 fast. It has recently helped me get down closer to my goal weight I am at 110now and I don't feel deprived at all. You would be amazed at what sugar can do to your insulin levels and all the damage it can cause with the amount most people take in. |
Walk...walk, walk, walk........and lots of water! |

You know I hear that a lot but for me it doesn't seem to ring true. I can drink water all day long and still be starving. |
Water is a key in dieting. It helps in digesting correctly amongnst many others. Depending on your metabolism, there are many different diets to choose from. It may take some time and experiementing before you know your body and how/where you tend to gain/lose weight. What may work for me may not do a thing for you. Always remember whatever you choose to do, moderation is key! I know, it's hard but you can start by cutting out certain foods that are obviously not good for you (fast foods, high fat foods) and eat other foods you enjoy in moderation. Self discipline is very vital as well in a proper diet. |
I cut out red meats and fats. It works great for me. And I still get to eat carbs and sugar (but I don't overdo). And no salt(except on french fries which are a treat). Seriously, I can ean junk food, cookies, etc. if I do this. But I think different diets work on different body types. Oh, I live on veggies and fruit and chicken. My dtr does the slim fast diet and that works good for her - doesn't work for me. Atkins seems to work great for guys. |
