Only 3 days to go - you lucky girl...wish I could go again with you. :) :) I miss my sister and niece who live there!! Have fun!! If nothing else just relaxing on the beach is the best!! :D Where are you staying? |
Take the flight over to Molokai to see the Father Damien Leper Colonyy (you can only see this on a tour). Take a helicopter tour - especially on Kauaii or the Big Island. Definitely do a surf lesson - tons of fun!! The best luau is the Old Lahaina on Maui, but the Polynesian Cultural Center is pretty decent, too!!! Hike Diamond Head, but do it in the morning and take water and a flash light with you!! Drive around the island - really easy and you can see tons of stuff. If you go to another island, the snorkeling is much better on the Big Island (lots of sea turtles all over the Kona side and fabulous fish, lots of colors and species). Horseback ride. Take a whale watch/dolphin watch boat - not really the season for whales now but you never know!!! Stroll the many beaches, tour the gardens, go to the North Shore, visit the Dole Pineapple Plantation, eat, drink, sun and have fun!!!! |
i just vacationed there a couple of weeks ago. i went to oahu for a wedding and it was beautiful. we stayed in a condo in waikiki but pretty much spent most of the time up in north shore and ko'olina beach (really pretty). definitely go to a luau (i went to germaine's luau...spectacular). pearl harbor is a definite must. matsumoto's shaved ice on north shore is pretty great too. i think that renting a car and driving around the whole island was priceless and i would recommend it. you definitely get to see more of hawaii when you get out of waikiki beach. i was only there for 4 days so i didnt' get to island hop, but i heard it's definitely worthwhile if you have enough time. |
Hopping island sounds like lots of fun..I'll be there 2 weeks so i think for my last week there thats what im gonna do..:p ..Has anyone skydive?? i want to do it but im scared :( .. |

I just came back from Hawaii on Sunday. I was born and raised there. There's a lot of things you could do, but for my 10 day vacation, I did the following: 1. Stayed at Hilton Hawaiian Village (Rainbow Tower) for the first weekend. It was beautiful. It kind of rained a little bit during that weekend though. 2. Went to Ko Olina Lagoon. It's a manmade Lagoon on the west side of Oahu. Very pretty and wasn't very crowded at all. 3. Stayed at my parent's house on the north shore of Oahu. 4. Went spear fishing. 5. Went to the Polynesian Cultural Center 6. Went around the entire island and stopped at all the scenic points such as blow hole, Laie, Chinaman's hat, Turtle Island, etc. 7. Ate at Giovanni's Shrimp Truck in Haleiwa as well as Matsumoto's Shaved Ice (get it with ice cream and red beans). YUM!!! 8. Dived off the big rock at Waimea Beach. 9. Went shopping in Ala Moana. 10. Took pictures at Hanauma Bay. 11. Visited my grandpa and cousin's grave at Punch Bowl. Also took some pictures there. It has a great view of Waikiki, Downtown Honolulu, Pearl Harbor, etc. 12. Went to my old stomping grounds in Pearl City, Kalihi, Kapolei, Ewa Beach and bought my essential Hawaii snacks: mochi crunch (for my popcorn at the movies), li hing mui gummy candies, and ate as much Zippys plate lunches and taro pies at McDonalds I could handle. Hope you find something you want to do from my list! Have fun! |
