What that Pit did to that little 2 year old boy!! I don't know about anyone else who read that story, but I'm wishing I had not! The rest of yesterday I had a huge, huge lump in my stomach, could not eat, could not sleep last night and am in bad shape today with nerves and feeling like I'm on the verge of breaking down. I've never even once, EVER fathom such a horrific and monstrous thing ever happening. What if that had been a baby girl!! Am I in the dark ages here or has this horrendous thing ever happen to some other child? I could not and will not respond to that post. I'm in shock and utter disbelief and will NEVER, NEVER look at another Pitt again the same way........and yes, that's sad, but I cannot help the way I am feeling. My whole entire insides have been quivering since I read that post and it feels like a large very hot ball in my stomach. I'm so sorry for that child and have been praying for him continuously since yesterday. God help him, God keep other childern from suffering the same fate!! |
It was a truly horrific story and it does bother me as well. I don't only want to blame the pitbull breed. I think that with any animal large or small a child should never be left unattended with them. |
I have to agree with Bizzy - I just can't wrap my mind around that whole thing - someone must have caused that dog to do that not 'something'. I've never in my life heard of this happening I just can't blame the dog....there's way more to that story ....But my heart breaks for that poor toddler. |
V, I just posted this on the other thread so I figured it would be something else for us to ponder while discussing this thread: I just thought of something...ok you know how people like their five minutes of fame..how come these supposed neighbors that were witnesses haven't been interviewed and splashed all over the papers. There is no gag order on this case. They have the reporter presenting their story in front of the house...so how come no neighbors have been interviewed or come forward to talk about what they supposedly witnessed or helped attempt to stop? |
I agree. You cannot blame the dog. Blame the parents. They need to be locked up, or worse. |

i also have had a hard time thinking of the poor child. and i still don't completely blame the dog. |
If I were a witness to it I wouldn't go on tv talking about it. I would probably seek counseling and try not to think about it.... some people usually associate going on tv as "bragging" about it. Who would want to be associated with this? It's all just so sad... |
I still say the story stinks to high hell. I pray that the parents are seriously looked at before this is all over. I have potty trained 3 kids and I have to tell you I never let them run around undie less....especially a boy. At least when a girl pees it goes downward but a boy well it tends to fly at times so I know I personally wouldn't let my son be without a diaper. I totally agree that a one or two year old can throw out stuff or get stuff but if he had pooped in his diaper why would he be without a diaper...don't you need wipes to wipe that little bottom. I wouldn't take off the diaper, let him run around to dispose of the diaper or get a new one when I haven't properly cleaned that bum. |

I don't believe the story. |
I started to read the story and I thought how on earth can this be true? Then it got to the part of the boy having to have some surgery and I said, ok, so this is true. However, I still can't comprehend how on earth this could possibly happen. There are too many factors that have to be involved, b/c this is nuts. You all are right too, I don't just blame to dog, I blame whom ever was in that house, b/c they ALL had to of, in some bizzare way, 'set the whole stage' for something so freakish to happen. Sorry, but that's just the way I feel. This isn't something that can just happen in a blink of an eye, there's gotta be waaaayyyyy more to the story. |

There has to be way more to this story. I just can't see any dog doing that. I really can't - even a humper. |
The media probably blew this whole thing out of proportion like it usually does. The dog could have mounted the baby and someone got frantic and stated the dog was raping the child. Witnesses mean nothing! They also get caught up the moment. Mother screams the dog is raping the baby and so it goes. Dogs hump what they can, they don't mean anything by it. That's a dog. They wrap their legs around your arm, leg, their bed etc. Whatever happened to that poor child was not the dog! |

I didn't write what I did to have anyone say what's the difference if it was a boy or girl. I'm still quite upset to say the least, so don't mind me if I lash out a little here. What I was "thinking" when I said that (and may I add here, I am not thinking all too clearly yet) was if that had happen to a little girl, she may have died for sure or lost all her female insides. I know the boy may not be able to have a child now either. I raised 6 sons, so it really hit me extremely hard, but I have an 8 month old granddaughter who's parents have a Pit mix, but looks more Pitt. How am I "supposed" to feel. YOu folks can go on and not have a flash back when you see a Pitty or even have one, but I'm not going to apologize for the way I feel and how this horrible thing has deeply affected me and I will probably never let me look at one the same way again. I hope I will heal enough to see them as I use to. |

I understand your worry you dont' have to feel like anyone is attacking you. Everyone is just disgusted with what happened here. My parents have pitts and have always raised them. They currently have a 125lb one right now. I am in no way shape or form scared for my kids. I think that there is something very very wrong in what happened there and there is tons of s**t we don't know. |
