ne one else being held captive by the heat??? It has been SO hot here lately, temps in the high 20's (80's. i think) but the humidex is putting it into the mid 30's (um.... 90ish) and i find that just taking Layla out for a pee is hard on us both... it is very difficult to breathe and we are just DYING to get out of this house and go for a walk... i hear that the west coast of the US is also having horrible heat. my aunt lives in Arizona and it has been in the high 90's-100's there... but i think dry heat is a lot different than wet heat. Anyone else having a hard time getting out?? what do you do for exercise in the house?? she will only play fetch for so long :p |
I'm in Arizona - it's 100 right now. The high was 118 last week! So, this week is nuthin! LOL. Plus, it's humid today bc Monsoon season is on its way in....there may be one tonight, actually. |

We get monsoon season starting in July - the worst of it is in August. Here's a quote: "In Phoenix, the monsoon is considered to have started when we have three consecutive days when the dew point averages 55 degrees or higher. The 55 degree threshold should be viewed as a guideline for the beginning of the monsoon...and not a hard and fast rule. The average start date of the monsoon in Phoenix is July 7, while the average ending date is September 13." Btw, it's really cool! We live right on South Mountain - and you basically see this gigantic sand/rain cloud coming up over the mountain and toward us - then it all breaks loose when it reaches us, things flying all around, sand in the air. It's crazy. |
well after all the flooding went away its freakin hot here! this is what it is today 99°F Feels Like 103°F thats off the weather channel. |
its also supposed to have thunderstorms every night from the rest of the week tho. |
Oh it is so hot here its miserable. I always look forward to summer but this ones been so hot its not enjoyable. Weve been staying inside in the air conditoning. I try to walk Chachi and Jewels real early in the morning like 7 am because by 9 it is already getting hot |
When I lived in NC it was 90+ pretty much everyday of the summer, but it was dry heat. Now that I'm back in Ontario it's been 90+ pretty much everyday (it was 33 C yesterday here, felt like 37 C according to the weather channel which is roughly 104 F) but it's wet heat & you just feel so nasty. The air is so thick & you feel sticky, but you're so freakin' hot at the same time. I just feel so gross when I go outside on days like these. I have severe bronchial asthma and have to stay inside as much as humanly possible on days like this, too, because the air is so thick I can hardly breathe so it sucks for Chloe :( |

I Really Feel For You - I Just Hate The Heat, We Are Ok Over Here In Uk, We Rarely Get That Hot. We Have Had Bad Floods And Lots Of Rain All Over Uk. But Today Was A Lovely Day About 70 Degrees. Pity I Had To Work.... I Cant Wait For Weekends When We Can Go Out To Play.... Hope It Cools Off For You Soon..... |
Me! It\'s so horrible. The poor puppies can\'t even go to the park at nights like we have been doing a few times a week this past few weeks. The air NEVER turns off.. I\'m sure the bill will be outrageous but what can you do? |
We live in New Mexico, We have two large power plants here and what they spit out causes rain to go around us and the temps can get over 100. It has been 100, and is holding steady. Max has his little yard right out the back door under a very large tree so he has some outlet, he stays in his swimming pool all day,LOL |
We have been getting soooo much rain and now the sun is shiny and the humidity is horrible! I think they said the temp was 90 something, but the humidity makes it worse!!!!! YUCK! |
I cant stand this heat. My chest hurts going outside and it hurts to breathe. My gastroparesis symptoms are always worse this time of year too. For some reason the heat and humidity makes me nauseaous. Today I feel real run down, moving to fast made me dizzy. Thank God for air conditioning |
I forgot to say too, When you live where there are fires it can really through everything off. We had a big fire about 40 miles away and you could feel the heat and the smoke will just hang. Chock-Chock |
