It works really well for my son. A lot of things affect your skin though, diet, exercise, along with cleanliness. I know, from being a trained cosmetologist, that it's not good to dry your skin out too much because then your body kicks in with more natural oil production. I now use Arbonne, which I love. You can find it on ebay pretty reasonable and even though it's a little expensive, it lasts stinkin' forever because you really only use very small amounts. If she's eating lots of fries, fatty foods, etc., not much is going to help. And you're right about the water, the more you drink, the better everything is. |

I still get occasional breakouts and I tried Proactiv and didn't like it. It was too drying, plus I've heard that it does something to your liver (an esthetician told me that). I'm still searching for a magic potion that really works. So far Olay is leading. Regardless of what she uses, she should only wash her face once a day - at night - any more than that strips away the oils and your face will just produce more (too much) oil. She should also follow up with a toner and moisturizer. I think the drug store brands like Olay, Dove or Nivea do just as good a job as the high-priced 'endorsed' brands. |

Do you mind if I ask what medication your derm. gave you? I have used proactive for a while too and now all of a sudden it has stopped working and my acne is horrible again. I am trying to get a derm apt now to figure somethign else out. Thanks! |

Boy you girls should be on the commercial. ;) I've watched those commercial and also thought boy if I had that problem I'd order that stuff ..if must work. Guess not. |
It works wonders for my daughter. She even quit using it for a while, thinking she could, and the outbreaks came back horrible. It is the only thing that has worked for her. |
My daughter uses the neutrogena stuff they have out. its a wash, night mask, and a morning lotion. then we got the spot stuff to go with and if she has them, she puts it on at night too. the only problem we have found is if she goes swimming then it dries her face out around her mouth and chin area. but she just used more of the lotion and it was fine. she hasnt started yet and hasnt ever had a problem til the last few month, so i thinks she will be starting soon. |

i used proactiv once and it totally dried out my skin to the point where it flaked. i forgot what active ingredient was in it, but it totally ruined my skin, even though it has worked wonders for others. i asked for a refund. i use shiseido pureness and so far, i love it. i'm 23. |
I used it, and at first it burned, so then I start going to the dermatologist. They have prescibed me great meds! |
