LOOK what I found under my steps...

I found this under my steps yesterday. When I got home and pulled onto my carport my lab and golden was very intrested in something behind my concrete steps. So I pulled out the steps and found a kitten-a very scared kitten. I wrapped it in a t-shirt because it was scratching me and she finally calmed down so I let her down. She fell in love with Hannah. She follows Hannah every step she makes and tries to nurse her. Did you notice part of her ear is gone....:( ...but it appears to have been that way for awhile since it is already healed. I really don't want to keep her but no one else wants her either. What should I name her? (I am pretty sure it is a her)

Name her Heidi since she was hiding under your step. Hannah and Heidi doesn't that sound cute?

Yeah, I know....:rolleyes: . The last thing I wanted was another cat, but it was my steps that she ran to, so I will have to take care of her....more vet bills...:eek:

She's very lucky its your steps she chose, and your a wonderful person for taking care of her :) The poor baby, I wonder what happened to her little ear... I bet she's so happy now!

Oh my goodness.. they are adorable together! Heidi would be a perfect name for her! I hope you can keep her... she seems like she belongs already. :)

I have asked my neighbors and no one claims her. I have no idea where she came from. I would love nothing more than for someone to say that she belongs to them.....:D , but Hannah would be disappointed. I would really love to find someone who would take her and keep her in their house. My daughter and I are allergic to cats so she will have to stay outside....:(

i had a cat that looked like that..her name was baby. she was the sweetest thing!!

She's beautiful. She has the same markings as my cat. I like the name Heidi. I waited a couple of days before I named my kitty so that I could see what his personality would be. He is named Shadow because he followed me around everywhere, he was my little Shadow.

Is she little bitty? I adopted Shadow from the Humane Society and the lady there told me it was a girl, when I took "her" to the vet "she" ended up being a "he". I was glad that I had picked a name that could work for either.

Aww, she's a cutie! I know how it feels to have cats choose you, even if you don't want them. I have 13 rescues, and I am NOT a cat person. :rolleyes:

do you live in a area where people throw animals out often. I know sometimes in rural areas people just toss puppies kittens and such out like trash:thumbdown :mad: . I just worry that maybe she got out and someone misses her.
maybe put up flyers at the post office and vets and stuff.

Not usually here. But we have a farm about 15 min away and people are always setting out dogs and probably cats too. And at my dads house they set out dogs too. I found 2 puppies there 13 years ago and I took one home to my mom and my aunt took the other one. My mom did not want a dog (but I knew she needed one...;) ) so I just put it on her porch and walked in and said, "hey mom I didn't know you got a dog". They named her Purdy and she is still there....:)

Yes that is about how she acts. She will run up to her and look at me to make sure I see her too. The kitty is still a little scared of me. When I (or any person) walks out to the patio she will run under my huge Hosta that she has claimed as her home. So I made her a bed under there and I put her food and water under there because she feels safe there. She is so funny.

wow how nice to keep her! i hope her ear isnt still hurting her.. and im amazed ur dogs are so nice to her! princess would have barked her head off and presumed to chase the kitty away.. :rolleyes:

Well you do have a welcome sign in front of her house so what is a cat to do? She made herself at home.:p I am allergic to cats too but it looks like "Heidi" and Hannah are too close now to go breaking up that friendship. Have you checked the paper to see if anyone has lost a kitten? Have fun with your new fur baby.;) :cat: Looks like she found the right porch to hide under.

awww...what a cutie! I love the pictures....her with Hannah and the one peeking out from the plant....too sweet!

Around my home there's alot of wooded areas and the stray cat population is out of control. There's two local Vets that are trying to help out by spaying and/or neutering any strays that people can bring in.

The reason I'm telling this is because once she's spayed or neutered them she'll actually "tip" their ears so people know they've been spayed. At first I thought this was a bit cruel but with so many cats running around it really is the only way to know which ones have already been spayed.

Perhaps that's what might have happened to her ear?
