Please pray for my daughters safe return My 21 year old daughter is traveling home from a vacation in France. She had a stop over in London. She just called me from Heathrow and the Terminal 4 that she was suppossed to change planes to come home is shut down fro secutiry reasons. She is very nervous and just wants to come home. Does anyone in the UK know what is happening right now at Healthrow? SHe asked me to check CNN but nothing is on here about it. Thanks |
I don't blame her & you for being extremely nervous...I will send good thought she's safe on her return trip.... |
:hands: Prayers on the way! It's so scary to travel overseas now, I don't know if we'll ever do it. I'm glad that your daughter got the opportunity to do so before it gets worse. |
Prayers from us too !! |
prayers to you both:) my daughter has just returned from a school funtion, she was gone a week, not over seas, just to kansas, so i know how you feel, its scary, you are in my thoughts and good wishes. |
Thoughts and prayers headed your way. It's so discouraging that we live in a world where fear has to dampen something that should really be SO wonderful.:( |
My dtr has been calling me every few hours. All flights were cancelled, she has been in line for 3 hours and expects to be in line another 3 1/2 hours, said may not be able to fly out until Thursday and has had no food and there is no where to even sit down. Needless to say she is pretty upset and scared. I feel so helpless as their is nothing I can do for her. I also hate that she has to spend days at an airport that is having security threats. Please continue to keep her and all those stranded in your prayers. Thanks |
Oh no! That sounds awful. Hopefully, the Brits are smarter than our airline folks and will try to do something to make it a little more comfortable for the stranded travelers.:) |
I will be sending prayers from Texas for your daughter. Patty |
I'll keep her in my thoughts! I hope she makes it home soon!! |
I'm so sorry your daughter is dealing with the mess at Heathrow right now! I studied abroad in London in 2001, and I flew in/out of Heathrow multiple times with no issues, but I've only been hearing negative things about it lately with all the security issues and lost luggage they've been having. I'll keep your daughter in my thoughts. Hopefully the airline will at least give her some food vouchers to get a snack while she waits. I realize it's not the airline's fault if there's some crazy person that caused them to shut down the whole terminal, but hopefully the airline will work with her to make it right, and to get her home as quickly as possible. I'm sure the security thing isn't much for you to worry about since they haven't closed the entire airport. As long as they're allowing everyone in the other terminals, I'm sure your daughter is safe. Good luck! |
how nerve wracking for both of you! I'm so sorry....warmest wishes for a safe trip home....soon! |
Oh Patti I hope she finds her way back home soon . . and safely. I will pray for you and for her safety. |
Update! The tour company called about an hour ago and they said they are putting them up at the Kensington ? Holiday Inn and have booked a Virgin Airlines flight out tomorrow 11am London time. I haven't heard from Jessica for a few hours so I assume she has been told where they are going and wil call from the Hotel. Hopefully they will get out safely tomorrow!! Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts. |
I will be sure to keep her in my prayers for a safe trip home. |
Praying for your daughter, Patti!!! That must have been frightening for her... |
I believe they found a suspicious package, but I'm not sure if it turned out to be anything. |
She is in our thoughts and prayers. At least they have found them a place to stay and are making plans to get them out of there as fast as they can. |
I was just looking on cnn and I found this: http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/europe...eut/index.html I hope your daughter makes it home soon! Have you heard from her recently? |
Prayers for her safe return tomorrow. What a desperate feeling to know your baby is in another country and scared. Hopefully she'll get a good meal and a good night's sleep and be back with you tomorrow night! |
I know how worried you must be. The airport is probably just acting due to heightened security because of recent incidents. I will be praying for your daughter's safe return! God bless you! |
Have you heard from your daughter? Please let us know, we are all praying. |
Thanks everyone and Kona for the link. I heard from her right when Pixie started having her health crisis so I couldn.t talk to her as I was trying to get to the er vet. I believe she was calling from the Hotel but she sounded pretty upset still, but at least she's in a hotel and not at the airport. Hopefully she can get out tomorrow and be home in the late afternoon. I just want this day to be over!!!! |
Oh my gosh Patti! I have not been on much, and I got on here and seen your threads! I am freakin out. You have had one heck of a day! I am so sorry. I wish I could make it all go away. If you need me, I'm here. Come home safe Jessica.....................praying for you. |
Is Jessica on her way home yet? It's well past 11:00 am London time! I hope so! |
Just seen this thread... Please know my prayers go our to you and Jessica. May God return her home safe. |
Any news?? |
Just checking in to see if Jessica returned home safely. How long of a flight is that anyway? |
Sorry I posted in another thread. Jessica got home yesterday late afternoon and has been glued to my side. Her suitcase, and i am serious when I say she took everything she owned (summer clothes, hair tools, make up etc) with her and all her souveniers and they still have not located her luggage. But at least she is home. The hotel they put them in cost her 400.00 for the night and travel insurance is saying it's not their responsibility it's the airlines and they say it's not their responsibility so I have to try and work that out. This morning she was sitting next to me and just broke down crying and I think she was just overwhelmed and needed to release her stress. She is doing better now. Thanks for all your prayers and concerns. YT prayers are the best. |
Well the main thing is that she is home safe and sound. All of the other things will work themselves out. I am sure this has traumitized her and she will remember it for a long time. I just dont know how those people that live with this type of thing on a daily basis function. I would be a basket case. |
