blah i dont know lol that is what it said on the show where the animal control go and take the pets being mistreated and this guy had a whole bunch of cats and they said they had to wear thick gloves getting them into the box because soemthing about their bites are toxic

Microbiology:

Wounds are ususally polymicrobial. Pasteurella multicoda is a gram negative aerobe found in more than 50% of cat bite wounds. It typically causes a cellulitis which develops in less than 24 hours and may cause fever and purulent discharge




i know that i had a cat one time that was bit by a male cat (she was in heat) and the hole started out as a little hole like a tooth mark and it spread open super fast.

Deep puncture wounds are of particular concern because cats have long, slender, sharp teeth. When the hand is bitten, bacteria can get into the tissue that surrounds the bones or into a joint and result in osteomyelitis (infection of the bone) or septic arthritis (infection of the joint).



i guess its the bacteria in their mouths.

This is what I would do too. That looks like a speder bite to me, I have had many. ER gave me a double dose of Benedryl and some cream.

I'd take her to the doc ASAP. That looks like a spider bite, and those can be pretty serious:(

My brother had one that looked like that on his leg once, when we where little... mark it with a pen. If it gets ANY bigger try to POP it. It could be a brown recluse bite.

That does look like the recluse spider bite. We had those in our area for a time, and the bit looked similar.

looks like a spider bite .. but whenever i get a mosquito or spider bite, they all swell up that huge (i am really allergic to them) i just took some benedryl (sp?) or some kind of allergy medicine to get the histamine levels down and swelling down.

once i had a mosquito bite that got so big it made my whole forearm swell ...:confused:

well we went to 2 doctors and neither of them knew what kind of bite it is, only that it looks infected. they put her on augmentin and said that if it is not getting better in 2 days to come back.

Did they say anything about Lyme Disease? Knowing the area, I know that it is possible.

my son gets allergic reations to mosquito bites and they swell up like that and he has to be on antibiotics too. also likje mentioned before take a pen and draw around the circle so if it is getting bigger you know and also if it goes otside the first ring draw another one and put a time on it and keep doing it everytime it goes outside the lines. i hope she feels better soon i know how miserable my son is when he gets those too. he swells up just like that one time it looked like he had a baseball in his arm:( it could be a spider bite or any of the other bites but i just wanted to let you know that allergic reactions to mosquito's look like that too.

i really dont think it is a mosquito bite because it has a brown spot in the middle. also, she has a bunch of mosquito bites and none of them ever have that kind of reaction. I really think it is a spider bite. yeah..they mentioned lyme disease but said they do not think it is what it is. they really think this med. will help it out, if not, i will take her to the childrens hospital and see a specialist (a friend of mine gave me the name of someone to see about bug bites)

Could it be ring worm. My friends daughter had this and it looked alot like this. She actually got it from a petting zoo.

You need to ask them about a staph infection, it has really been going around and will spread to different areas of her body if it isn't treated. That is what it really looks like and it is often mistaken for a spider bite until it spreads.

My friend got stung by a bee on her foot and it was unbelievably swollen, so maybe her skin reacted badly towards an insect bite.... but nonetheless, get it checked by the doc... I'm sure it's nothing serious. Something tells me its a mosquito bite though.... possibly one of the big mamas bit her, because my brother got bit by one and it swelled up to a huge circle like that.

I'm allergic to misquito and ant bites, too, and mine ALWAYS look like that when I get one. Give her some oral benedryl as well as the cream on the spot and if it doesn't go away in a day or two, take her to the doctor.

Mandee I hope all is Well Hubby has Chigger bite all over his feet right now. I can tell you it is not like his.
his feet have red swollen dots all over and itch really bad!

I think one of the doctors could figure out if it was ring worm or not. My son had it once. The doctor took one look at it and told me what it was. It looked like a cigarette burn. Same size same shape. I'm thinking that if a doctor has never seen lyme disease he or she might not recognize it. Maybe you should seek out a specialist. A dermatologist or something like that.

hi there, it is called a ring worm. Once I saw it, i knew what it was. It is causes by insects bites. don´t worry the Dr. will give you lamisil, but i don´t if your daughter can drink that, but he will know what medicine to give. But Trust me it is a ring worm. It called a ring worm because it forms a ring which is kind of lumpy the middle is smooth, the only thing that feels bumpy is the ring. I hope this helps you, and ring worms can happen anywhere, on feet, hands, back, buttocks, face legs. Everywhere. Good luck. ooo and I know this because I had one like four months ago.
Almost forgot, don´t but any creams on it, because it will just disappear for a day and come back bigger. When I had the ring worm I would apply some lotrisome and elecon and this would make it disapper for a day and the next day the ring got bigger and bigger. The doctor told me that I was feeding it and this is why it got bigger.

Paint all his chigger bites with clear nailpolish! it works wonders!

Ringworm is a fungal infection. I've never heard of it being caused by insect bites. It is usually caused by contact with an infected person or pet.

It looks like either a brown recluse bite or tick bite to me. Ticks are pretty bad here this year because we had a mild winter so I would lean towards a tick bite. The poster who said that a lot of doctors don't recognize Lyme Disease is right. You may want to find one who specializes in Lyme Disease and have them take a look at it. Maybe it is just an infected tick bite.

How is it looking BTW? Better I hope.

I agree, that is definitely not a ring worm. I still think it's from a big mama mosquito, and clearly her skin reacted poorly to it.

Hope to hear all is well. I thought spider bite. If it's a tick bite, antibiotics would knock it out if caught early. But my husband had to be on antibiotics for a spider bite.
