Man, I want a Coach purse so darn bad!!! My hubby would kill me if I spent $200 on a purse, I really think he would sign the divorce papers! :rolleyes:

WHY are they so darn expensive????

The quality of the bags plus the lifetime warranty goes a long way. I have bags that are 15 years old and still look good. I like some of the more classic pieces. Some of the newer ones are a bit icky to me.

The only complaint I have about their bags is that they are heavy even when empty (leather ones).

I have so many that I dont' even use anymore...I might just list them on Ebay or maybe here in our sale section. While they are nice I get tired of the fact that they are so heavy.

Hey a girl has to have some vices. If the bills are paid and you can afford to treat yourself a bit of a splurge is not bad.

I was never into designer things until I recently saw several adorable Coach wristlets. I love them! I don't know why, but I really want one so bad!! I did tell my husband and he thinks I am absolutely crazy :rolleyes: Well he dreams of spending thousands on a jet ski and dirt bike and frankly I don't get that!:rolleyes: MEN!:p
And the wristlets are not as expensive!

I seen a cute one on ebay that I liked, but I have no idea how to tell if it's authentic or not.

I hesitate to buy on ebay too. I've been shopping around for my mom for a Brighton bag but I'm afraid to deal with ebay and designer things.

Outlet Coach Stores
 
I get my coach purses at their outlet stores. There's one in Michigan City, Indiana and I've been to some other Chicagoland Outlet Coach stores. You should look to see if there's a Coach outlet store near you. Sure they're still somewhat expensive but not nearly as much as in the stores or online. They're usually a season behind at the outlet stores (which is why they are cheaper) if you don't mind being season or two behind.

Im a huge designer purse fan and shopper! I have a big collection and I can't seem to get enough of them! It's really my only vice. My hubby doesn't mind. In fact, out 3 year anniversary just passed and he got me 2 bags (1 Gucci and 1 Louis Vuitton) that I've been wanting for a while!! He's so sweet. :D

We can't afford an LV bag yet. Hehe :) I think Coach are rather 'you get what you pay for as far as money's worth. Many other designer brands are just waaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced. Not to say that I wouldn't love to have a Prada or a LV bag. But it's just way out of my budget right now. For example.

You sound exactly like my Mom! For her birthday, my Dad got her this ridiculously expensive Fendi bag in Vegas. But I don't mind because she spoils me by giving me bags she doesn't use all the time ;)

LOL...me too. I want the large Carly bag. It was I think $425 at Nordstrom. I have never spent that on a purse.:eek:

If you want to get some cheaper you can hit the outlets. I think they charge maybe $20% less but they dont' tend to carry the newer styles. The outlets tend to handle items that are previous lines and they may not have all the colors available.

Buying on EBay can be dicey because there are some good knock offs out there. First quality stuff that if you don't really know what to look for you won't know. For these things I rather buy them in the store since I can be sure I am getting what I pay for.

I do need to do a spring cleaning of my closet (too many bags) so I will try to get to it and post them on here to see if you want any of them. :D

My husband is into his games and electronics so he doesn't bat an eyelash at my bag fetish. There is a fendi and a gucci that I want but I am not feeling their prices ($800 and up). There is a lot I can do with that being as we have three kids...lol. Maybe when they are grown and dont' need shoes or clothes every time I turn my back.

I have quite a few collection and they are actually worth it . . . they will even refurbish your very, very old coach bag for FREE since they carry a lifetime warranty.

But if you want to get great deals always good to go to their outlet store :)

Do you know what bag is really popular nowadays? The "I'm Not A Plastic Bag" by Anya Hindmarch. It was originally made to use at the grocery store instead of plastic bags. Very cute tote for the summer. Good for the people who live in San Francisco where they recently passed the no plastic bag law. Only $15 but sold out EVERYWHERE in LA. It's going for like $150+ on Ebay and Craigslist. It's CRAZY! They will be offering it in East Coast Whole Foods in July.

I don't think their things are that expensive.

I have gotten many things from them (wallets, belts, iPod cases, etc) and they all wear so well.

OK...that is a rip off. $1700 for a canvas tote!

One time I borrowed my M-I-L's Chanel quilted evening clutch (yes, this was about 10 years ago) and inside, she had the price tag, in one of the side pockets. It was $1200. I took that to mean, "don't lose it." LOL

Yep the coach bags are good quality and the price is not that rediculous. LV, Fendi, Gucci and Marc Jacobs are disgustingly over priced and some of the bags I wonder if they were in their right mind when they were designing it and also what made them think that it was worth that. I for one am not paying it. They prey on the folks like the stars that have nothing to do with their money. But for good working folks like us it's just silly.

I absolutely love Coach my favorite at the moment is the legacy collection. The are expensive but i always buy the classic looking items, so i don't look out dated. Also if u sign up or shop at least once in their store, they mail you a 25% off coupon for anything in the store:thumbup: :D

LOL...they can get them suckers with the money to burn. I personally wouldn't spend on something that looks like that. Shoot I can go to ACMoore and get one of those shoppers for $4 and get glitter and the other goodies and make that bag for maybe $10.

I like the more classic pieces too. They go a long way. Some of the newer stuff is just plain old crazy looking and I know I won't want to use it two seasons later. I really dislike the whole gold line that they have going.

I have a couple of the wristlets. They are very convenient. By the way if you like the look of the wristlets then hit Macys or any other high end shopping store. Other makers like Liz Clairborne, Guess etc. make the wristlets in cute patterns for a fraction of the cost ($20 or so).
