Wow, those are amazing! Again, I would ask her for a great discount on a set for you and if she doesn't cooperate, you may bring up the fact that she didn't have your permission to do London's.

While I don't think it's far that she is using the one picture without permission, I don't think it's THAT bad. Maybe if you emailed them, they could explain themselves. Because they are from another country, there was some confusion with the language barrier.

I wish they were my dogs.. I would glad pay $100 and $45.. that's nothing in the art world.

I agree that you should have gotten SOME sort of deal. I would ask them if they would paint you AT LEAST one painting for free.

Ok say it was my dog and some one said" hey do you mind if I paint a picture of your dog (kodi) "I say "sure... "then I find out that she not only painted Kodi but Daisy too Daisy with out letting me know and then has them for sale and making money from them. BIG NO NO. I did not release any photos to her to do with what ever she wanted.... now Sorry I didn't mean to ruffle feathers but I would never have let her have the picture in the first place.

Hey girl. I think they are beautiful. Now, before you go and buy them ask her this question....are they painted free hand, or are they painted OVER the existing picture. Now, if you don't care about that, it's one thing...but if you do, then ask. ;) I got "fooled" that way before. If I'm gonna pay a decent amount of money for art work, I expect you to do it free hand. If I wanted a "paint by number" I'd do it myself.

Let us know what you do! It would be great to get some paintings from Italy!!!! :D

London's portrait is signed by Mezzolla, Gracie's by Tuccio. Which artist contacted you?

They are both beautiful! Definitely would be a must have for your own walls!

I sure understand your feelings...
I was at a show last month, when I walked into the hall there was a huge throw hanging up on a wall at least 10 ft above the crowd..it was a well known champion sitting on a chaise lounge...I made the comment that the owner must be proud and made a nice profit selling the photo...NOT SO...the photographer can use any photo they take for their own profit...the owner doesn't see a dime..the photographer could put the photo on the side of a trash can if they wanted to...
London is lovely, but I agree, it is like me buying a photo of your child to hang on my wall..if I had the money I would buy it for you!!!

The paintings are stunning! Too bad the artist didn't contact you after they were done and offered to sell them to you directly first.

That's a shame... The paintings are absolutely georgeous!

Well, at least I won the picture of London. Won't have the pair but hey...let them have the painting...I have the dog. ;)

Well, I wouldn't pay her anything for a painting of my own dogs. She used them as modelss and is profitting from it so she ought to at least give the owner of the dogs free ones.
