How do I make a complaint
 

and not come off as a BI--H? I really love YT and almost everyone here is sooo sweet and supportive! Also, I always get GREAT advice. It is uplifting to read so much GOOD about so many people.

BUT, one poster (male--Nashville, TN) is always bashing everyone else and what they say or do. I hate to think of the poor little puppy he and his fiance brought into their home (war zone). I am so tired of reading posts and all of sudden there he is making snide remarks about everyone. It is not fair to the person who started the thread either--since everyone usually jumps on the bandwagon taking offense at what he has said--which, I feel, is exactly what he is hoping, as he sits there laughing his a-- off!

I know YT is a public forum, but this is ridiculous!!!!! Sorry, had to vent!:mad:

I wish I could see an example of the types of comments you're referring to - bc I'm not sure of who you're talking about.

It can be tough sometimes with certain people and I find myself holding back from what I really might want to say when someone is being rude.

Sometimes when I feel that someone is being rude (and there are quite a few on here), I will type a long post on how I feel about them and it is not a nice one either, and it has lots of bad words too, then I will erase it and it never gets posted.....but it makes me feel better....:D . Some people think they are so smart and so superior that they can say anything, there are always those few who always have something to say and usually negative or bashing. I don't know who you are talking about but he is not the only one that is rude. I try to ignore the rude comments even though sometimes it is hard.

It is sad when one person tries to take away the fun for others by stirring things up. I cannot say that I know who you are referring to, but I have seen things that have gotten ugly and wished that they hadn't gone that way. :(

If you see snide/rude/hateful remarks, you're suppose to report them. In each post by individuals, you'll see a little red triangle with an exclamation point in the lower left box. Click on that, type out your reason for reporting them and it'll be sent immediately to admin. Then, they can review the post for content and can either edit the post, delete the post, suspend and/or ban the member.

There is a rectangle with a red ! at the bottom of your screen. It is to report offensive inappropriate posts. You might want to read the rules regarding reporting posts.

I know who she is referring to. It is a distasteful situation all around and I have seen the others that she is referring to as well. I think that everyone should remember the rule of thumb of "thinking before they speak (type)". They should also treat others as they want to be treated. There are a couple people on here that I find offensive and have wanted to let them know about themselves but I have restrained myself. It's hard but you know what take it with a grain of salt unless the attack is directed at you and just ignore them.

gosh, I hope so...although I worry about Tanner (the puppy). he definitely knows how to keep us all in an uproar. i have grown to love YT and don't want his offensive remarks to put off any newbies that may be coming to get good advice!:confused:

Ohhhhh, I figured out who it is.......I am not sure I have ever replied to any of those posts. I try not to even read anything from him since the thread he started about if it was even possible to train a puppy that is in a crate 20 hours a day. He reminds me of the husband on Sleeping With the Enemy.

I usually do ignore threads that he starts, but he is now jumping all in the middle of other threads! It just makes me mad! I am tired of him and his ways....:(

i reported him last night and asked admin to please ban him but i don't know what happened. i can't find any of his piosts this morning.

he's only here for reactions and I just hope there is no dog - I can't picture someone having a puppy and caging him for almost 24 hours a day - it's cruel...then to come here and whine and complain about this same puppy not bonding ?? or wondering WHY the poor baby is laying in his own waste ?? WAKE UP ! That's animal abuse and should be against the law. Every dog is entitled to clean living surroundings, food and love.

That must have just happened because hes on here now and has posted a relatively new thread. He seems to have made a turn around because he is considering everyones advice

I read most of his thread(s) and it was clear he was being snide, and obnoxious most of the time, and who knows if he really had a puppy or is doing this to be the "center of attention"...as he is getting what he is looking for --- lots of attention... so what say all YT'ers, why don't we just ignore him if he isn't banned??? You already gave him lots and lots of useful information and it's up to him and his fiance' to use it!

Again, I'm going to play devil's advocate here. I've talked to this person you are referring to and I think he just came off wrong to everyone. He didn't want the yorkie in the first place, but he is trying his best to take good care of the little guy. He came to yorkietalk to vent. He was a newbie and didn't know what kind of reactions he was going to get. If you read the thread started by his fiance, she honestly really really cares about Tanner and I truly believe that they are doing their best to take good care of him. I know when I got my first puppy, I thought ALL the things that they are thinking right now, but I kept them to myself for fear of being ridiculed. Having a puppy for the first time is HARD WORK. Hobbs used to lay in his own urine, too. If you go back and look at the VERY FIRST thread I started here, it was about Hobbs pottying in his crate. I, too, thought "these kinds of dogs" were not supposed to potty on themselves. And, if you do a search here on YT, LOTS of people's puppies lay in their own urine. And I think the 20 hours a day was an exaggeration..........I think the BEST thing we can do right now is support them. How would you like it if they got banned? Then they would have NO ONE to reach out to for support and for quesitons to be answered and little Tanner would suffer for that. I think in the best interest of Tanner, we should all start over and all learn to play nice. Novak is not the only person to blame here. I am completely APPALLED at some of the responses from some YT members. Sorry, I had to say it.

This has been ugly and I'm embarrassed and ashamed at some of the replys as well.

I have been here long enough that I think most of you know I am not a confrontational person at all. 99% of the time if I disagree, I just move on, I am very uncomfortable being involved in controversy. But... He was given advice nicely at first. He ignored it and just started more and more threads saying pretty much the same thing. He attacked our members personally, which I'm guessing is what got him suspended. I'm sorry but it is just common sense that a puppy should not be crated for 20 hours at a time. That is horrifying and what most of our members were getting upset about. He was even leaving him in a crate when he was home and encouraging his girlfriend to crate him further when he didn't feel like dealing with him. He is disgusting and I think we had every right to be outraged.

He didn't say the puppy was confined 20 hours at a time. He said 20 hours total and even gave a time frames plus the 2o hours was not accurate when I counted the out of crate time the pup is crated less then that.

I work full time M-F and my 3 girls are confined in the kitchen for 9-10 hours a day and I don't feel that I'm being cruel to them.

I also did see advise being given but the harsh comments seemed to out weigh the sound advise. If I was in Nodak's position, I probably would have just logged off and never come back.

I'm just saying this is not the Yorkie Talk that I came to know and love. I'm not saying Nodak is guilt free, but I wonder if it would have even gotten to this point if some of the early comments would have been nicer.

I don't care how the time is broken up, 4 hours outside of a crate a day is not anywhere near enough. That is very different than your situation where your dogs are free 15 hours a day. I'm over it though- it sounds like the situation for the little guy will improve which is the important thing and even though I think he got exactly what he derserved, I'm will to agree to disagree if you are.;)

I happened to see the last post made before the suspension - someone sent me the link. If you all had seen it - I think you'd change your mind on the 'play nice' posts. It was vicious and it had no business on this site at this time....I won't go into details but I was shocked when I read it and just hope anyone who's lost a dog didn't see it. :( Maybe when he comes back - if he comes back - he'll use a different approach and try to take people here seriously. We love dogs too much and he could get some good advise if he wanted to hear it.

I still feel the pup would be better off in another home. Doesn't sound like that will happen however. I can only hope the living situation will improve.......just makes me sad.
