Oh well...pregnancy question???????HELP!!! As some of you might know, I am expecting, but the problem is I am vomiting lots. I heard of morning sickness but this is just all through the day. Any advice on what I should eat to stop beeing ill? Thanks |
You might want to ask your doctor. Some women produce an excess of a certain hormone (an excess of said hormone is usually a sign of twins) & it makes you very very ill. There was a girl at work that had & had to be on iv because she couldn't keep anything down. If it is constant & you can't keep anything down I would ask your doctor. |
Ponyup is right -- talk with your doctor. I found that eating a few soda crackers and sipping water helped me. I would eat a couple of crackers BEFORE I got out of bed in the morning. |
Hi & congrats again:) My daughter was very ill when she was pg, she could not keep anything down for the first 4 mths, she was hosptilized with iv med and fluids, so if its that bad you might want to check with your doc, i know it will pass, it just takes time,oh and she also lost 25 pds very quickly thats the reason the admitted her, hope i didnt scare you:( and i sure hope you feel better soon:) |
PM'ed you |
I'm lucky so far, I only got sick to my stomach once with my pregnancy(although it was in public). I dont know how to make that stop though, I hope it goes away soon for you. |
if you are that sick, I say it is a girl :) I really have no advice other than stay away from greasy or fatty foods, live on the crackers and ice chips, and talk to your doctor. My friend was very sick all the time too and she got some med from the dr. that helped her a lot. i think they call it morning sickness, but I think it is more "mourning sickness". LOL it isn't just in the morning it happens...it happens whenever it wants to :) good luck...please keep us posted. congrats again!!! |

I can sympathize with you. My second pregnancy was that way. I threw up about 6 times a day. The problem was that it would hit me without warning. Dry heaves are the worst. Make sure you have something in your stomach to throw-up. I woke-up one morning and looked in the mirror and had spots all over my face. I went to the doctor and found out that I had broken the blood vessels in my face because of all of the vomiting. The doctor said it would go away by itself, as soon as I stopped vomiting all of the time. Try eating 4-5 small meals a day and try eating fruit, like apples or pears. You should also try to eat something at night, before bed, so then when you get up in the morning, you won't feel so sick. The doctor said that as long as I was gaining weight, the baby would be fine. Your body protects the baby first. With that baby, I only gained 12 pounds, and she came out 6 pounds, 11 ounces. If you have any more questions about your pregnancy, ask your OB; even if it is a strange question. I hope you feel better soon, and congratulations! |

I'm sorry you are feeling so bad. I also did not have this problem but I know some people find relief with the motion sickness bands for your wrist. Good luck and do talk to your doctor. |
My doctor told me that 1/2 tablet of unisom and a vitamin B6 (during first trimester ONLY) would help with nausea. For some people the prenatal vitamin makes them sick, and if that's the case, it's more important that you keep food down than take the vitamin. You just really have to monitor your diet. Definitely talk to your doctor to see what options are best for you. |

Gingerale worked for me. The crackers never did. It's also good to try and munch and eat very small meals several times a day. I had morning or rather all day sickness very bad for four months with my first daughter. I had to end up quitting school and work and literally (no lie) just setting up shop in the bathroom on the floor. But never fear honey it will eventually go away. I set myself up very comfy in the bathroom with mags, a pillow, blanket and a body pillow to sit on. I just literally got tired of running back and forth. |
My first was a boy and barely any sickness, but my second was a girl and I was sick for 4 months (nothing actually came up but felt like throwing up all the time). What worked for me was peppermint. Hope you feel better soon and congrats! |
Oh thanks everyone, I have tried ginger bisquits like the doctor said and gingerale but none had any effect. I am so scared, but I am so excited, specially that all I have read was that people who have been sick like I am had a girl. That would be my dream come true. I always wanted a girl. Thank you so much everyone. |
Maria - I hope you get your little girl, but whatever "it" is, I mostly hope it is healthy!!! I had all day/night sickness with my 2nd pregnancy. I never actually vomited, but felt sick to my stomach ALL THE TIME and actually blacked out several times. This lasted through the 6th month!! I did find small meals and not letting myself have an empty stomach helped a little, and I also had to make sure my body temp stayed regulated. If I got overheated I would black out quickly. Stay hydrated with whatever works and eat whatever sounds good to you (within reason, of course). Hope you're feeling better soon!! |
Okay just let me tell you....I am the MASTER of VOMIT during pregnancy. There simply is no answer or any fix....some may find this home remedy works or that one....I found NONE. I have 2 skin kids....girl and boy...I heard ohh your having a girl if your sick all the time....Yes i had a girl....but I got sick everyday with my son too....I was sick 24/7 and heart burn that you could literally hear! I was puking at 3 weeks along, and was still puking on the delivery table. It sucked bad!!!! I tried every home remedy you can possibly think of with no relief. My Dr. does not allow for expecting women to take many medications. Sounds cruel but he is quite the opposite, he does not believe long term research has been done on these medications that are approved for pregnancy. Im sorry to hear your sick. :( I went through it twice....the whole time, from when my feet hit the floor at 3 weeks pregnant til I delivered. There was no foods that set it off, or helped ease it. This sounds gross but I could eat, say a hot dog.... puke it up 10 minutes after eating it, then go eat another one. lol It was insane. I ate Lemons like crazy they didnt help but thats what I craved. :p I wish you luck....and I thougth fo sure my second was a girl too because I was just as sick as the first one....but nope, He is all boy!! Have a healthy happy baby!!!!! :p |

I don't know if it will be a boy or a girl but whatever it is I just hope it will be happy and healthy. |
My grandma's remedy - eat some crackers before you get up in the morning. After 15 kids, I think she finally figured it out. ;) Wishing you the best and I hope the morning sickness eases up for you and you start feeling better. I threw up every day for 8 months, 2 or 3 times a day with my first and never even got nauseous with my second (I was 39). |
Make sure your getting enough fluids that will make you feel sick if you don't. I was sick with all of mine but my last one was a dooozie! I was sick all day for 9 months. I gained less than 20 pounds but he weighed 10 so he got what he needed. LOL Good Luck and hang in there. It is such a wonderful time we forget and it passes so fast. Even with all the sickness I would go back and do it again in a minute! |

Try keeping crackers by your bed and having a few before you get up. That helped somewhat for me. Congratulations!!! |
It has been a while, but I definitely remember being sick every day all day! Every morning I had to pull over to the side of the road on my way to work. And she is a girl. I agree, small, bland mini meals. Lots of water. |
I got sick at night, not in the mornings but I lived on Ginger Ale and crackers. I did hear that if you get up slowly, and eat crackers (IN BED) it helps! I then had heartburn so bad I thought I was having a heart attach, I live on Onions and peppers though!! Wish you the best. |
I totally understand where you are coming from. I was in your shoes last year at this time. I lived on crackers and Sprite. I was fortunate though to only be sick the first three months. We thought by how I was carrying and getting sick it was a girl but we had our little boy. I couldn't love anything as much as I love him. Pregnancy is the neatest feeling in the world!!! |
Lemonade!!!!!!!!! I had a Co that was pg at the same time and her Doc. told her to try it. And I was sick as a dog, so she would bring us both Big glasses of it in each day.It really hepled us both. And we both had boys(I was sick all the time with my girls too) Best of luck!!!!:) Amy |
Thanks guys...speaking of crackers, if I only see them it makes me wanna vomit, let alone eat them. I just couldn't do it. Anything ealse that I could eat in the morning? It just seems like I am out of options and I don't know what to eat. All the foods that I use to love before , now I hate. But the problem is I haven't got foods that I crave for so I just don't know what to eat any more. LOL |
you poor thing. i have no suggestions but do feel your pain. with my son, i was sick all of the time. i could not wait for three months to get here (as i was told it would stop) but it didn't. i did not stop getting sick until the 5th month. |
Try dry toast. It should work the same way. But you have to get up to make it and by then it may be too late. Maybe just a slice of bread. Keep it by your bed. I sure hope you find something that works. But, even if you don't, once you have that little bundle of joy in your arms, you will forget all the downsides of being pregnant. |
Try sucking on a lifesaver in the morning. The crackers didnt work with any of my pregnancies.Just thinking of something so dry in my mouth made me gag. What about small pieces of fruit apples pears oranges.Just try new ideas.I know you will feel better soon. |
with my twins i was so so so sick that i was put on a medication and all i did was eat and then when it would wear off i was sick again, but i only took it gfor maybe the first 5 months and then i was fine, but i was sick with the others also but i think mine went away around the 4 month mark, but they say to snack on crackers at night and it will keep you from being so hungry and nasueated in the morning. some are lucky though and dont have anything at all congrats again and i hope you feel better |
