Oh well...pregnancy question???????HELP!!! As some of you might know, I am expecting, but the problem is I am vomiting lots. I heard of morning sickness but this is just all through the day. Any advice on what I should eat to stop beeing ill? Thanks |
You might want to ask your doctor. Some women produce an excess of a certain hormone (an excess of said hormone is usually a sign of twins) & it makes you very very ill. There was a girl at work that had & had to be on iv because she couldn't keep anything down. If it is constant & you can't keep anything down I would ask your doctor. |
Ponyup is right -- talk with your doctor. I found that eating a few soda crackers and sipping water helped me. I would eat a couple of crackers BEFORE I got out of bed in the morning. |
Hi & congrats again:) My daughter was very ill when she was pg, she could not keep anything down for the first 4 mths, she was hosptilized with iv med and fluids, so if its that bad you might want to check with your doc, i know it will pass, it just takes time,oh and she also lost 25 pds very quickly thats the reason the admitted her, hope i didnt scare you:( and i sure hope you feel better soon:) |
PM'ed you |
I'm lucky so far, I only got sick to my stomach once with my pregnancy(although it was in public). I dont know how to make that stop though, I hope it goes away soon for you. |
if you are that sick, I say it is a girl :) I really have no advice other than stay away from greasy or fatty foods, live on the crackers and ice chips, and talk to your doctor. My friend was very sick all the time too and she got some med from the dr. that helped her a lot. i think they call it morning sickness, but I think it is more "mourning sickness". LOL it isn't just in the morning it happens...it happens whenever it wants to :) good luck...please keep us posted. congrats again!!! |

I can sympathize with you. My second pregnancy was that way. I threw up about 6 times a day. The problem was that it would hit me without warning. Dry heaves are the worst. Make sure you have something in your stomach to throw-up. I woke-up one morning and looked in the mirror and had spots all over my face. I went to the doctor and found out that I had broken the blood vessels in my face because of all of the vomiting. The doctor said it would go away by itself, as soon as I stopped vomiting all of the time. Try eating 4-5 small meals a day and try eating fruit, like apples or pears. You should also try to eat something at night, before bed, so then when you get up in the morning, you won't feel so sick. The doctor said that as long as I was gaining weight, the baby would be fine. Your body protects the baby first. With that baby, I only gained 12 pounds, and she came out 6 pounds, 11 ounces. If you have any more questions about your pregnancy, ask your OB; even if it is a strange question. I hope you feel better soon, and congratulations! |

I'm sorry you are feeling so bad. I also did not have this problem but I know some people find relief with the motion sickness bands for your wrist. Good luck and do talk to your doctor. |
My doctor told me that 1/2 tablet of unisom and a vitamin B6 (during first trimester ONLY) would help with nausea. For some people the prenatal vitamin makes them sick, and if that's the case, it's more important that you keep food down than take the vitamin. You just really have to monitor your diet. Definitely talk to your doctor to see what options are best for you. |

Gingerale worked for me. The crackers never did. It's also good to try and munch and eat very small meals several times a day. I had morning or rather all day sickness very bad for four months with my first daughter. I had to end up quitting school and work and literally (no lie) just setting up shop in the bathroom on the floor. But never fear honey it will eventually go away. I set myself up very comfy in the bathroom with mags, a pillow, blanket and a body pillow to sit on. I just literally got tired of running back and forth. |
My first was a boy and barely any sickness, but my second was a girl and I was sick for 4 months (nothing actually came up but felt like throwing up all the time). What worked for me was peppermint. Hope you feel better soon and congrats! |
Oh thanks everyone, I have tried ginger bisquits like the doctor said and gingerale but none had any effect. I am so scared, but I am so excited, specially that all I have read was that people who have been sick like I am had a girl. That would be my dream come true. I always wanted a girl. Thank you so much everyone. |
