shes such a brat she deserves to go to jail

RLC12345678 06-08-2007 01:47 PM

She went to jail NOT for DUI, but for driving with a suspended license. Most people who are caught driving with a suspended license don't serve jailtime, and if they DO serve jailtime, it's around 3-5 days....not 45 days!!!!!!!! I don't like Paris Hilton at all, but to me, this sentence is a bit excessive. However, she should be accountable for her actions and I do believe she should serve whatever sentence the judge gives her, whether I believe it's excessive or not.

To be honest I think the public likes to see the rich and famous suffer a lot even if it's somewhat more than necessary, because it somehow makes them feel better about themselves to knock others down. Many law enforcement agencies chimed and said that for a probation violation for a non violent crime she really only should have gotten a week at most two, that this was a really high sentencing. I think this judge got what he wanted, his name plastered everywhere and it's sad that a lot of people think justice has been served when really justice abused it's power. Again I think she should be punished, but this was overkill. If it was your (general) child, sister, or whomever, you would cry foul, but because it's someone people love to hate, it's satisfying and I think that's wrong. But that's just MHO.

Very nicely put Nobella and my thoughts exactly:thumbup:

Ok i agree with you i don't like her privliged butt either but it was a suspended licence that she is in jail for and trust me i have a friend who has never had a DL and has been pulled over countless times and has never been to jail for it. i truely think this is to make an example out of her celebrity status yes i think she deserves to pay for what she did but 45 days is ridiculous. I know a lot of people hate her and would love to see her hurt but if it was you how would you feel to spent 45 days in jail for a suspended licence?

Why thank you Shelly ;)

I have to say the 45 days is quite excessive for the violation, seven to ten days seems about right....but I really don't agree that we like to knock her down to feel better about ourselves...it's hard to feel much sympathy for an unsympathetic person....Paris had a court date in front of the judge to address the violations, but she still had the arrogance to show up late for court, you don't poke a hornets nest w/ a stick....she angered the judge & I can say is I don't blame him...I would NEVER show up late for a court date...it's that attitude of superiority that makes her an unlikeable person... sure, she's not being tried for her personality, but it's that obnoxious attitude that put her where she is, she just PO'ed the wrong person this time...& money won't save her this time....
jmo :)

She didn't let herself out of jail, but she's paying the price. It sucks that her blood alcohol level was .08 and Nicole Richies was way higher and nothing has happened to her  I think she is being made an example of and it's cruel and unusual punishment.:thumbdown I'm definitely no fan of Paris by the way.

I AGREE 100%%

Not to be confrontational ;) ;), but she could have killed someone.

Our 10 yr. old son was killed by a drunk driver so I feel they really have been much too easy on her.

That is so sad, I'm really sorry your little boy lost his life from some one else's stupidity...so, so, sad.....I don't believe people take drunk driving as a serious issue til it happens to them, it's easy to be compassionate & forgiving when the victim is some one else....Bless you & your family..

crystalsmom 06-08-2007 03:03 PM

Thank you for your kind words. I have nothing against drinking it's just be mature enough to call your parents, friend, cab or anyone that will make it safer for everyone including the person drinking.

Luckyone 06-08-2007 03:11 PM

the whole thing is a freaking circus. No wonder California has $$$ issues when they waste it pissing over stuff like this. Paris shouldn't have drank and drove. But the issue is she drove on a suspended license is why she was issued the jail time. Do they not have better things to do? Like murderers and rapists to catch? Or gangs to battle? Or are they trying to make an example of her?

This judge reminds me of the moron who resided over the Anna Nicole paternity thing. What a showcaser!

CO_yorkie_momma 06-08-2007 03:16 PM

She went to jail for violating her 36 month probation, not driving on a suspended license. She was let go the first time and given probation and she violated it. That means jail time. She has violated it twice since she was given probation so I think she got what was coming to her. Sometimes you have to knock people over the head before they finally get it and maybe that is what they decided to do this time.

red98vett 06-08-2007 03:56 PM

She should have been treated like EVERYONE else - no more no less .....

that goes for all the rich that think their money will buy them out of everything - the law is susposed to wear a blindfold but we all know that's a bunch of BS.

in her case it seems they're being harsher than needed now with this reversal

EDITED - I didnt know what CO_yorkie_momma just said is true - if she broke probation then she SHOULD be in jail - the average joe would be.

I bet if we asked some members of MADD what they think about her being a criminal for driving drunk they would have a different opinion. It doesnt matter if it is Paris or whoever it is, they broke the law and they were given 2 chances after that since she was pulled over twice afterwards and 3 strikes and anyone should be out. I bet if she sits in jail for her entire sentence she will think long and hard about her hopping into her Mercedes after a few drinks again.

Chachi I do agree that she should have only had to do the origional sentence and not the full 45. That was messed up.

Yes, I agree. Paris should not have to do the full 45 days now. If it was the sherrifs fault it should have no affect on her. Although, I do think she should and dereves to serve the full 23 days ... But minus the days she already served. Not saying Nicole , and Lindsey shouldn't get theirs coming and hopefully in due time they will..
But the streets are unsafe with Ppl like Paris as well as any other who drives under the influence of. My Best Friednds sister was killed 2 weeks after graduation from High school because of a drunk driver and all she was doing was sitting in her living room on a Friday night watching TV. The drunk driver came crashing through the living room wall and she was killed.
Like U said.. this will give her a chance to think long and hard.

OMG I didn't know that and am so so sorry. This thing must make you sick to read (with her tantrum and all) and even sicker hearing about those who have multiple DUI's.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your son :(
