How is your house decorated? :) I love to decorate and I love to watch HG tv and look at decorating magazines. I love the way french country looks but I am stuck on southwestern. I love cactus and the light airy colors. My entire house is southwest (except bedrooms and the two upstairs bathrooms) Does everyone else have a theme home and are there anymore southwest decor lovers out there!:) |
i love contemporary... modern |
My house is decorated in a country theme. :) I also have lots of stars ( wallpaper, hanging, sitting, Ha! Ha! ). I love the "House Hunters" show on HGTV.:) |

I LOVE the look of "Old Wold"... w/ the tumbled marble tiles, corbels, urns, black wrought iron, tapestries...w/ colors of chocolate, mustard yellow, cream, & sage green :dreaming: To bad that's not mine  I have antiques (I try not to buy any furniture at the regular stores, just antique shops for me ;) ) & I'm not sure what you'd call it...I'm going to slowly incorporate the "Old World" stuff in with out the DH realizing what's happening, it will slowly change & he'll never catch on... |
oh I pretty much watch HGTV or the food channel . . .or should I say It is on any of those channels but don't really sit down to watch anymore . . . I'd say my house has no specific theme but definitely minimalist (less stuff to clean and hubby likes it that way  ). I love looking at Victorian designs and cannot imagine how something so busy (mix and matching all the print and plaid colors :p ) can look sooo wonderfully ellegant  |

HGTV is my absolute favorite channel to watch. My favorite shows are House Hunters, Devine Design,Design to Sell, Hidden Potential, Buy Me etc:D My house is currently but decorated with light wall colors and accent walls in every room such as Apple green, Robin's egg blue, Creamy yellows etc. I accent those colors with dark woods and black and white art on the walls. Other than that my home is pretty minimal. I like to call my style "manhattan":D |
I love country stuff and I love red in every room. I like new things mixed with old things, like some primitive country things with new things. |
My mother and I share a house and she has rubbed off on me. Everything is a mix of Queen Anne and Victorian. Lots of gingerbread and other decorative wood accents everywhere. We have antiques, too. Some bought, but many that are family pieces. (The kind they pry out of your cold dead hands. :) ) The kitchen and downstairs family room are the exceptions. The kitchen -- which I redid last year -- is Americana. The family room has a nautical theme and gives me somewhere for my lighthouses.:) |
I've always done an eclectic version of french country but in our new house I've done a coastal/ caribbean thing that I love. It suites my personality. |

We try to do just about everything ourselves, too. I recently completed a major laminate installation in the livingroom and dining room. About the only thing I won't mess with is electricity. Everything else I figure you can get a second chance at. With electricity, one ZZZZZZTTTTTT and you're done! |

Well right now I am working with a blank slate. My husband says I have horrible taste but even he liked the new bedroom furniture I got today. Our new house is finally ready to move in. I gave away EVERYTHING except pictures and clothes so am starting fresh. My son built the house for us so I left everything up to him. I have kind of khaki colored walls and a beautiful slate floor. I am kind of going for a country look....but very uncluttered. I got shower curtains yesterday for 2 of the bathrooms. One is done in earthtones but the grandkids is done in turquoise ocean theme. The guys hate it but the grandkids love it. I have a sofa, ottoman, and two chairs ordered from Lazyboy. My son-in-law is putting flat screens throughout the house. My kitchen is beautiful with stainless appliances...and I have wrap around porches front and back. No idea yet for a dining table but am running out of money so may have to eat standing up for awhile:D RY TH I |
Mine is decorated Old World and Morroccan. |

I LOVE to decorate and rearrange. I rearrange ALL THE TIME hehe. I watch all the shows too hehe. My living room is brown and red. Dining Room is red. Kitchen is slowly getting decorated in roosters and Breakfast Room is red and also roosters. I LOVE RED !!!!!!! Kids' Bathroom is Frogs and Master Bathroom is sage mostly. |
My style is called "Ms Susie". A mix of all the things I've ever had and haven't been able to afford to replace. Since I live in an apartment, it's not possible to paint the walls a color, so I have to make do with accent color. I have a couple of antique pieces that I build around. I like the French/Victorian look - lots of blues and yellows, and white where possible for openess. I love nic nacs and pictures which I use for my decorations. The pictures are of family from the last 7 generations and give me the feeling of having all my family around me. It's getting to be time to reupholster soon so I'm keeping my eyes open for blues!:) |

My husband was in Japan for 4 years when he served in the Navy. He loved it there. He brought back some little trinkets (and tattoos .grrrrrrrr.) and I decided to display them. So now my living area and foyer have a Japanese theme. And then in my guest bedroom I have a nautical theme. My bedroom is very modern with deep rich earth tones. My Bathroom is all Safari. My office is very European. And finally my kitchen has a bit of a spanish theme. I wasn't sure if I should make everything go together or go ahead and keep them different to create different atmospheres. My husband loves it though. And I had to keep busy somehow. LOL. |
Me too! Quote:

My home 2 Attachment(s) Lets see, my kitchen is very small and has minimal decor, but I would say its southwestern. Very colorful and bright. I have a BIG GREEN paper mache parrot on a perch hanging from my ceiling, and the walls are light celery green. My mom actually picked it all out and I love it! My dining room is OLD ... my table & chairs are 30+ years old and falling apart, my next house purchase will be a new ones. But my hutch is dark pine and also about 30 years old. Its from my parents and I absolutely LOVE it! That I will never get rid of. My Living room is not that great, I tried to do something but failed miserably, its more comfort with no real theme, but I have an awesome leather ottoman! My 1/2 bath is sun, moon and stars, my full bath is green, white and bright orange, orchids. My bedroom is pretty great though, I worked hard on this, its mustard yellow walls with Khaki trim around the windows, closets and baseboards. The bed is big wrought iron sleigh bed.... and I have marron & khaki bedcovers and pillows, and marroon and khaki curtains. The only problem is its a bit darker than Id like in there with the dark wall color! Oh and a gold velvet queen ann chair that I got at an antique store that I just love! Here is a few pics I could find of my boring living room |
i did my living room in mythology and roman greek with big statues and bust staues i did mykitchen in like an old americana look with red white and blue and some apples i did my sons room in nascar, my kids hall bath in duckies (their choice) i would have went with some polka dots or somehting and my twins room is blank white with no nothings but a few stick up of ariel the mermaid and the tonka trucks on each side of the room and my room i did in marilyn monroe and black and white but i will soon be going to a more beachy type room with blues yellows and reds, but my bathroom was done cheap in kisses and lips and hearts i really avent decorated it yet but i has some littel things but i wasnt to start over i decored in a rush when we moved in and im beginnig to changemy minds here :) |

I haven't sat in my living room in probably about 1 1/2 yrs. at least, all my time is spent in the kitchen, my DH better unchain me from this stove soon or there's gonna be trouble...we live in the kitchen, our lives revolve around food, I'm either shopping for it, preparing it, or cleaning up from it ( my son & DH are diabetic, so food is part of their treatment)....I'll post my cell for ya...this is where you'll find me on any given day... |
1 Attachment(s) oops, forgot to post pic..... |
