I do a Tropical/Costal type of decor. It completely fits my personality. I collect sea shells of all sorts and coral. My landcape is very seashore type as well.. LOL.. and I live in Pa. .. Most ppl here like the country style. ;) |
I really don't have a "theme" but most of my home is a "Victorian Cottage" look. I have white carpet in the formal LR, with a light sage sitting couch. The connecting DR has dull pewter diningroom table with glass top & bakers rack to match. Master bath recently was remodeled. Tile floor (kind of a "stone" walkway look) in a grey with muted sage walls. Wainscott 1/2 way up that is a cream color(yellow tone). I accent with pink baskets from Longaberger ( they had them last year). Family Room - VERY traditional. This is the "hang out in" room that the dogs spend most of their time with us. I try to keep it as low key and low maintenance as possible. I am hoping to do the Master Bedroom soon....... would like to blend in with the new bath..... suggestions? What do y'all think of Wainscott in the bedroom? |

3 Attachment(s) Here are pics I took this morning: These are of my bedroom |
3 Attachment(s) This is the living/dining area. My sister is a seamstress/decorator and she made all my draperies. My Dad made the shelf over my french doors and the pie safe sitting in the corner beside it. |
This is where I LIVE. The deer over my computer is one my late husband killed in our backyard. The hat is also his and I keep it there always. |

Mish Mash Is that a style? My husband I got married last year. Not a first marriage for either of us. We both had full households that we have combined into one (he likes solid heavy dark--I like light contemporary comfy). (Thank goodness the new house has a large work shop which works well as a storage area). So we have this and that combined with minimalistic tendencies on my part (I am a clean freak). The only things we have really decorated--the dining room is done in a sorta French country. And our master suite is in burgandy and sage. The girls have focus walls and teenage decor. We also have put up the Live, Laugh, Love signs I saw in an earlier post in the stairwell--and surrounded them with dozens of matching framed snapshots of our lives since we have met. We are getting close to settling down. Virginia might be our last abode in the military and we may stay here for awhile. If we do, then I will worry about decorating again. My house in Clearwater, FL--which I thought would be my home for awhile, I spent a lot of time making it mine--tiling, painting, building decks (me, by myself!) and decorating. Then I married my darling husband, and poof it is gone. So holdng off on that whole getting attached to the house thing again.. |
