my website? i am having an ongoing arguement with my webmaster. two people on here have told me that the sillouette on the yorkie in the right upper corner of my website is either a skye terrier or a silky. they are going by the tail set. It just looks like a larger yorkie with a low tail set to me which I know silky's are larger and have a low tailset. he claims he will have to do my whole front page to change it. Now, today, he sent me links to several silky and skye sites and I have to agree with HIM after i studied those sites. My picture looks more like a yorkie than those sites do. I cannot find a regular yorkie picture like so many have that is not copyrighted to send him. I can't use the one on the AKC site without their permission (I think) so my favor is this: Would you guys look at my home page and tell me if the sillouette looks like a yorkie or not. It kind of does and it kind of doesn't - the tail isn't "up" and I always associate yorkies with tails up. The body looks...maybe a bit long (vs. "boxy" body). I wonder if you could take a pic of one of your yorkies and then use photoshop to "blacken it"...? |

no, he is really nice and I did send him a picture which he said was too distorted and I understand that. i thought he would make a sillouette out of it and it would be fine but guess not. patti, you are right. it is a sky terrier. I loked on the akc website. But he is right. I did approve the picture. Actually the whole site when he made it so it's my fault i guess. Now he is upset because I called him a butthole on here. I was just frustrated because it seems like he won't listen to me when I tell him it is a skye terrier. he has done an excellant job on the site tho. Another company called just last week and asked about making me a webiste and i told them I am perfectly satisfied with the one I have and I am and he is good to work with. i have recommended him to man y people already. |

Sorry you are having such trouble. I wouldn't think it would be that hard to make a silhouette of one of your yorkies. I'll bet even Villette would do it for you and then you can send it to him and have him put it on. The one you have doesn't look like a yorkie to me. Too long and low to the ground. Also, for layout purposes I would reverse it and have it facing the other way. You don't want it looking off the page. Same with the photo below it. This is something that I learned in a layout workshop I took for Yearbook in high school. The eye should travel visually in a circle, never have something facing off the page. Just my opinion. You site does look very nice and professional, though. |

I don't understand why he'd have to redo the whole front page ??? and ya it doesn't really look like a yorkie but to tell you the truth - not that many people would notice unless they were really looking carefully at the whole site |

To change anything on the logo header I have to edit it in graphic program. There is no way not work around it. It's the logo header so anything that is done to it has been done in a graphic program, saved and uploaded to the server. So, i told him to just let it go. i just kind of feel embarrassed when people mention it. |

dee, believe me. i am not good on the computor but building a website is easy. if mitzie can do it that quickly, so could he and not have to do the whole page. |

Personally, I've visited your website many times and never noticed it. I am new to yorkies though so I'm certainly not an expert. Once you mentioned it, and I looked up the AKC standards and I did also think it was a silky but I never would've noticed if you hadn't said something. At this point, I think if it were me, it would just drive me crazy so I'd have to change it. Good luck. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard..... |
i have emailed him your sillouette Lisa and i also sent the one Mitzi did with the sillouette. i'll see tomorrow if he will use any of them. i like the face one too but that is someones yorkie and i would be stealing if I used that picture and get in trouble. i knew you guys would come thru for me. i just can't afford to pay several hundred dollars for a big fancy website and up till now, I have been satisfied with mine. lisa, you don't know how computer illiterate I am. i don't know html or anything. i worked all day once trying to just get started building one and gave up in tears. thanks, I'll let you know what he ends up doing tomorrow. |
