Prayers for my Grandma Please~
 
I'm not a particularly religious person but right now my grandma needs some prayers and I know that YT prayers are the best.

On Friday she was admitted to the hospital with blood clots that had traveled from her legs to her lungs. They are putting a filter in her legs today. The clots did not reach her heart which is good news.

My grandma is one of the strongest people I know! She raised 9 children on her own working at a factory for years. She is almost 78 and STILL works her butt off everyday. My dad visits her often and she is always doing yard work, cutting down trees, taking care of the farm, etc. I've always said she will oulive all of us :)

Oh no !! I'm so sorry and she has my prayers !! She cuts down trees ?? OMG I needed 911 the day I had to chop up a tree and Kudos to grandma !!

Seriously - I hope she'll be ok - my dad had that happen...they caught it and he was fine but she has my prayers and I'll be thinking positive thoughts for your Grandma

Grandmas are SUCH special people and yours sounds especially special. I hope she recovers soon and gets back out on that farm!

Kim, I just said a prayer and asked for healing and strength for your Grandma, strength for you, knowledge and skill for the medical team treating your Grandma and asked that HE surround everyone involved in HIS loving arms. I will continue to pray for your entire family.

You are right, prayer does work, and the YT army of prayers are a very strong force. -- Sending you hugs..... :ghug:

Thank you all. She is never sick and was never supposed to get sick. I just don't think of her as EVER being ill. She is much too tough for that. Now I have a lot of guilt because I don't visit as much as I should and we were always so far away when I was growing up I really only know her from the stories my dad tells me.

Kim, I hope your Grandmother is back up and doing what she enjoys ASAP. Our thoughts and prayers are with her to make a swift and full recovery.

I just talked with my dad and my grandma (Mazie is her name) is doing ok. She had a blood transfusion and they are putting filters in her leg tomorrow. My dad talked to her tonight and wouldn't you know it, she's worried about her lawn getting mowed and her garden being taken care of!

I was planning a trip to see my mom in July and I'm going to make the 3 hour trip from Ohio to go and see my grandma at that time. It's not enough but it will be nice to spend that time with her.

Thank you all for the prayers and thoughts :) It makes my heart smile.

I'm really glad that you are going to see her - I bet she will be so happy to see you!!! I know that it makes my mom's day when she see her granddaughter and GREAT granddaughters! There's nothing like grandchildren!

Prayers going out from here! She sounds like a wonderful lady! My mom is 83 and she said her neighbor across the street saw her climbing over her (probably about 4 feet tall) block fence and told her she better start acting her age! I just had to laugh when she told me that! I know how terrifying those blood clots can be. My husband had one in his lung also. Hang in there. There are lots of people praying for her and you and your family. Faith is a true principal. Prayers are answered.

oh good !! I was just going to post when I saw your update and all I can say is Go Granny !!!...isn't if funny how the little stuff seems to be always on our minds ? Does she have help with her lawn and garden I hope ?

I just talked to my dad and my grandma is still in the hospital. She has internal bleeding and they are now trying to determine where it is coming from :( I've never heard my dad sound like this and he's being very vague with me about what is going on but I don't want to pry. I think he's trying to be really strong but I can hear it in his voice. I really hate this~

Kim - I'm so sorry your family is going thru this, but don't give up! Daddy's blood clot went from the legs, thru his heart and to his lungs along with the internal bleeding. He had 8 transfusions and is going on 5 weeks in the hospital, but he turned the corner Sunday and is beginning to come around.

He's almost 77 and I thought about the similarities immediately when I read your post. Your grandmother sounds like a truly amazing person and the love you have for her shows in your posts.

I will be praying for her and I must say, YT'ers are amazing prayer warriors. God bless.

Kim i'm so sorry... i'm sure it is hard for him to talk about it, and i know he doesn't want to upset you, although i'm sure he doesnt' realize it makes you more worried not knowing what is really going on. I"ll be praying for your whole family tonight
