I was horrified Melinda got the boot. I still think she should have won. She has come a long way from her audition to now. She is much more confident and always was a terrific singer anyway.
I don't think it makes that much difference she has proven herself and likely has deals anyway.
Next week will be interesting, my vote is for Jordin, I am not partial to Blake at all.

Taylor won last year because of the vote for the worst website. Katherine was young and versitile she could be taken as an it girl because she was young she has the look. Melinda is a little older and idol likes to put through the young easy to market type people i will say they have made some mistakes before like with ruben and clay also with fantasia and with taylor but taylors doing was most definently the V4TW.com. Don't get me wrong melinda is great but i knew she wouldn't get to the finals she has a better chance if she makes her own music on her own alblum because when you win they choose what you sing and where you sing it. she is a great singer.

I am in total shock! Melinda should have won! Overall she was the best singer
with Jordon right behind her.
I don't agree. Melinda can sing anything! Blake on the other hand does
not have a great voice, be pop or whatever you call it will be out in time
and then he's lost. As far as having the look, makeup can do wonders.
Look at Clay Aiken! He was my favorate to win and he was a compete
dork:D Look what they did to him!
I think Diana Ross was just plain "UGLY" and look where she got with
makeup:p
Melinda will get the record contract but she got screwed!

I stopped watching it after all that crap with Sanjia, I knew it was rigged after they kept him so long!

Different strokes for different folks, but Melinda got on my VERY LAST NERVE!!!! I was surprised she got voted off, but I'm glad she did. I've liked Blake from the beginning. He has the "pop star" image that American Idol is looking for. He's fresh and new. I really like him.

I disagree completely that Taylor won because of "Vote for the Worst." I know TONS and TONS of people who LOVED Taylor, including myself, and voted for him wholeheartedly. V4TW was marketing Sanjaya more than they have any other contestant and I think the fact that he got voted off proves taht V4TW can only take you so far.

Ahhh, see I don't agree with that. lol. True, V4TW has alot of impact, but I think alot of that impact is only in the beginning/middle of the show. When it gets down more towards the end of the show, people are ultimately going to end up voting for who they TRULY want to vote for...who they truly like. V4TW works...but only for so long ;)

I really loved Melinda. She could sing ANYTHING and rock it! I also like Jordin and Blake (although Jordin's facial expressions get on my nerves lolol but you can't deny that the girl can sing her butt off!)

Hey ya know what, as long as Sanjaya isn't one of the top two, I'm HAPPY! :D

Nobody has said it but I'm going to say it, the reason I think Melinda got voted off was because people got tired of her look and when I say look I mean, "no neck", my local radio stations even kept talking about it alot. I know that contributed to her not being in the final 2, although she is the BEST singer IMO, but I do want Blake to win it, he takes risks and I like risk takers, always being safe isn't fun you only live ONCE..

What about Carrie Underwood? She's been one of the most successful American Idol winners ever. She's won one American Music Award, eight Billboard Music Awards, and two Grammy Awards (including Best New Artist).

I know what you mean. When she first joined American Idol, she had that short hair which drew attention to her neck. I think she looks SO much prettier and better with longer hair. It suits her and doesn't draw a lot of attention to her neck, or should I say lack of a neck lol :D

First of all I was truly surprised that Blake didn't get booted last night but we underestimate the Blaker Girls. Those little fingers can dial quickly and often.
I have said that I want Jordan to win but wouldn't be hurt if Melinda did. I like Blake and I think he has a good voice but I'm sooooo tired of the beat box thing and his moves. He does the same ones over and over.

My question is though, how many runners up do have good careers now?
Clay Akin has been my favorite but his second CD isn't nearly as good as his first. Is he touring or anything? McPhee is still getting attention but why? I think Rubin is getting less publicity than any other winner has!

So here's to next week and a Jordan win!

My fiance has a theory that they always kick off the best one, to leave one really good one and one not so good one in the finale, then it becomes obvious who's going to win. I don't know about his theory but I for one am glad she's gone. I didn't think she was THAT unique,and those expressions just killed me. She was just too disengenious (sp?). Always acting surprised :rolleyes:

That's what I was thinking. For the most part, each year you hear less and less from the runner-ups. Their fame and interest seem to fade rather quickly now.

Kathy Griffin was on the View yesterday and she said Blake would be working at the mall is 6 months which I thought was funny and kinda true, haha.
