I had went to the Endocrinologist (sp) about my thyroid and he told me NO MORE MTN DEW!!! That night, I went to Arby's (on our way home from the doctor) and got a huge Mtn. Dew....that was my last one. I haven't touched coke products in years, but even w/ that, I didn't even lose ONE POUND after stopping cokes. I heard people say, you will lost 5lbs or more just by quitting, I didn't. - just goes to show everyone's body is different I guess. All I drink now is water (WATER, WATER, WATER), fat free milk, organic cranberry juice, maybe a V8 on occassion and very seldom Crystal Light. **which does anyone have a favorite flavor in that** - I have been getting the orange sunrise flavor. Anyway....are you the one that last year or so posted a picture of your son who had lost so much weight??!! If so, that was amazing. I find that my problem is that I have to have certain foods in the house for the rest of the family and have to cook their foods......I have tried just making my own stuff, but boy, that gets hard! |

I remember that one............I think it is time for a new one...well, it looks like we have a good start here! :D |
Crystal Light~ My husband and I loved the Raspberry Ice, and then after I tried the Lemonade and Pink Lemonade, I realized they were much more thirst quenching...It is a special treat ( I try and tell myself that, haha) with crushed ice and a lemon or lime wedge...;) |
Weight Watchers online!! I do Weight Watchers online and love it. If I were to do the in person one, I'd quit. I wouldn't want to take time out of my busy schedule to go to meetings. But the online is amazing. There's a daily food tracker. You click into morning, midday, and evening and type what you ate and it adds up the points for you. This has worked wonders for me because I get 20 points a day to eat and I can plan what I want. If I want to splurge on dinner I calculate how many points it will be and I know what I have left for the rest of the day. Also, you're allotted 35 freebie points each week in case you go over in a day. Making me think about what I'm eating has made all the difference in the world. I've been doing it for 5 weeks now and have lost 9 pounds, which for me is a good amount since I was a size 8 to begin with. And truth be told, I only exercise about once a week. I mean, I walk my dog every night but that's really leisurely. Obviously you'll lose more if you exercise more, but the diet is designed to work without exercising. Also, I do it with girls at work. We have a dry erase board that tracks our progress each week. Let me tell you, having your progress broadcasted at work is a great motivator!!! Good luck to everyone trying to lose weight! |
I have lost 55 pounds on low carb. I have 30 more pounds to go to make it to my goal but I've decided to to take off these last pounds much slower so I eat a little more carbs now but I still lose weight.I drink a lot of water and power walk 4 times a week. |
I'm on this diet call the 90/10 weight loss plan, and in the first 2 weeks i've lost 10 pounds. The way it works is that she gives you 3 different meal plans, 1200 calorie, 1400 calorie, and 1600 calorie. Based on the questions she asks, you decide which you want to try. Most women do well on the 1400, but if you're really looking to lose the most weight, do the 1200 which is what i did. Now you eat regular food, oatmeal for breakfast, tuna sandwich for lunch, chicken stir fry for dinner for example. She also give you a snack, fruit or veggie usually. That totals 90% of the calories, 950 for the 1200 plan. Now you're allowed 250 calories "fun food" and this can be whatever you want. Nothing is off limits. She gives you a detailed list snacks and exactly how much to eat, but really anything totalling 250 calories for the day. Even wine and beer and soda are allowed, but all in moderation. This is really what drew me to this plan. On other diets, there's always something that's OFF LIMITS. As soon as you tell me i CAN'T have something, I absolutely NEED it. The other good thing is that she gives you 14 days worth of meal plans, and all breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks are interchangeable. So if you like the breakfast and dinner from one day, but not the lunch, you just have the lunch from any other day. OK so this is long...sorry. |

They always say its a great idea to have a "buddy" to diet with....we could all have our YT friends as our "buddy's". I agree we are off to a great start already....I love reading about what works and what doesn't work. My attitude is better already knowing that so many others on YT that are trying to lose weight too. Keep the post coming!!! :good job: |
Now that summer is here I have to peel off the sweats...in doing so I discovered the jeans are a tiny bit snug...I may need to break out the coat hanger for some help....may have to dust off the Nikes too...this stinks...maybe I should move to Alaska it might be easier than fighting this every year......I see the problem now, it's not the weight it' the season...summer=problem..winter=great I found these pic's,.... supposed to be a motivator.... http://www.seeyourselfslimmer.co.uk/photo-gallery.html |
I have learned from suffering from anorexia for many years that the first thing you need to do is drop the term "DIET". It really needs to be a life style change on your part. Try to cut back on the things you know you shouldnt eat and add the water. EXERCISE, EXERCISE, EXERCISE. Dont make excuses of why you cant exercise just find a way, walk, run, do squats, pilates whatever you can. Even if you cant go outside walk up and down your stairs (if you have them) whatever it takes. If you fall off your so called "DIET" dont give up just pick yourself up and start again. You will do it. Good luck! |

You don't HAVE to give up the diet soda ... completely. Just whatever diet soda you're drinking, drink less. Again, I think this depends a lot on the individual. For me, this wasn't a diet issue as much as a dental issue. Dentist really gave me grief last fall about lack of tooth enamel on my front teeth -- attributed almost directly to soda consumption. (And, this is with using a straw 80 percent of the time.) I was with Diet Dr Pepper like Jenn was with her Mountain Dews. :) Five or six a day was normal. So, for my New Year's resolution, I vowed to fix it. I actually started before the end of the year and by New Year's, I was drinking three or less a day. Now, I average 1 a day, occasionally drinking 2. The rest of the time I drink water. Man, was that hard. Took at least a month before I was pretty comfortable with it. Now I savor my sodas, much the way I would any other treat! It really is an addiction. Maybe not as strong of one as nicotine or alcohol, but caffeine is addictive. I knew better -- for me anyway -- than to go cold turkey. The headaches it brought on weren't worth it. Easing away from it worked much better. |
I'm also addicted to diet soda. What I do now is open one and pour 1/4 glass for the morning - - put tin foil on the top and have another 1/4 at lunch - then during the day when I have the need and believe me - it's a NEED water can't fill :D- I drink the other half..... then at night I splurge and have a full soda right after eating - it helps me feel full and helps with that craving for something sweet too. |
