When Daddy's doctor came in this morning my mother, sister, and I cornered him in the doctor's lounge and had a BIG heart to heart with him.

We reminded him that he fell in the hospital on 4/24 and told him that Daddy's surgery is not where the pain is coming from. It's coming from his back! The doctor said this was news to him, that he didn't know he had fallen

We've reminded EVERYONE who comes in that he hurt his back very badly when he fell.

Anyway, an orthopaedic specialist is coming in tomorrow morning to check him out. He's going to check to see if they can do an epidural to relieve the back pain.

This whole thing with the doctor saying he didn't know Daddy fell is BS

I was in the room when my mother told him that Daddy fell. He just wasn't listening. My sister and I are ready to start pulling out somebody's hair.

Sometimes the doctors don't listen well enough and the hospital never wants the blame if a patient is hurt when in their care. Continue to be persistant. Sometimes the sqeaky wheel gets treated better!!! Prayers going out to you and your family.

The orthopaedic specialist came in today (SUNDAY!). He said he can't do the epidural because Daddy's on 2 blood thinners, but he will be having an MRI and bone scan first thing in the morning to pinpoint where the pain is coming from.

Once he knows that, he said there are many more options for pain relief. He said he WILL have pain relief before he's finished with him

YAY!YAY!YAY! Keep those prayers coming! Things are starting to happen.

That ia great!!! Thew doctor must have been pretty worried about not handling this before to get the orthopaedist in today. Having had both of my parents in and out of hospitals I found they really need a family member advocate to get them the care they need and cannot take care of themselves. It is not in my nature to be nasty but when it comes to my family's pain watch out.
