You are not a cry baby. Eye injuries and disorders are the worst pain. |

Why don't you try rolling up some gauze or tissue and taping it to your eyelid like a eye patch (make sure it rests snug against your eyelid), that way your eye ball wont move around and you wont be blinking and it might help with the irritation. |
oh my gosh!! I am just now getting on YT and this is the first thing I read! I have never seen anything like this... and my family tends to get a lot of eye infections. I had this kind of swelling two years ago.. but I had sun poisoning... my bf, his cousin an d I decided to compete with who was going to get the tannest (not the brightest idea) well I was the one who suffered the most with eyes swollen, eye puss, ane water bubbles all over my face. eeekkk! maybe something bit you in the middle of the night??? or... did you go out in the sun? maybe you had a allergic reaction? as for the ring going.. it's an old Polish traditon... gold heats up the quickest.. so therefore.. the heat will kill/burn off anything quicker than in you put a lighter to your face I hope you find out what this is ASAP as it may result in servere damage.. please keep us informed.. AND find the BEST doctor you can.. after all, these are your eyes.. you don't want anything to happen to them |

OMG ouch! I dont have any advice but to see another doctor for an opinion... sorry that looks so painful :( I hope it disappears tomorrow! |
I had strep in my eye last year and it looked just like that. VERY painful!! It took 3 days or so to start looking and feeling better with the antibiotic drops and it was very painful to put the meds in too. I hope you feel better soon!! |
Did they do a slit lamp on your eye? This is where they stain it yellow and look at it, I believe it is magnified. It will show if something is actually in your eye, they can usually tell as there will be "tracks" of where the item has moved about and scratched your eye. I feel so sorry for you. I have had a lot of problems ongoing with my left eye and there is nothing worse. Go to an eye doctor, not urgent care, as of course they are more experienced with eye problems. Good luck! Feel better! |
Allergic reaction? It can happen in just one eye. I'm just seeing this now...how many days has it been? If it's been less than 48 hours or so, try one dose of benadryl, if it improves it's definitely an allergic reaction. My Mom's lip swells up when she eats something (she hasn't figured out what it is yet), but it's only one half of the upper lip. Both of your eyes may not swell up, it's possible for it to be just the one and allergies can be acquired at any age...even to things you've used/eaten all your life. Strep? Glad to hear you're on antibiotics, if it is strep it'll clear it right up. For the pain, take 2 advil/ibuprofen (same thing) every 4-6 hours (as directed on the bottle). It's an anti-inflammatory and will help the swelling which will relieve some of the pressure causing the pain. Also, use a hot (really warm) compress. Heat will drain the fluid out of there and will help the pain. Do 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off. What I do for a hot compress is soak a rag, stick it in a ziploc baggie (leave the bag open), microwave it for about 45 second (it needs to be REALLY hot), close the bag, cover with a dry washcloth/towel, and put it on the affected area. Works REALLY well, I use this often for ear infections. |
