Prayers Needed for Grandson We ask for prayers for our grandson Steven, he had serious hand injury and lost part of ring finger and middle finger, they were unable to be successful in the first attempt of a procedure and said that they would have to amputate the fingers, Son and his wife got other specialists in and asked to try other procedure, so the one Specialist today has Steven's fingers now stitched back into the upper palm with doing some sort of grafting hoping that this will work, Specialist said within the next two weeks will know it's outcome, if results aren't successful, they will have to amputate. We appreciate all the prayers from folks here. We know how powerful YT'ers prayers are. Thanks everyone. Patti and Jack |

Oh my goodness. that sounds horrible. But they are doing wonderful things now days with plastic surgery. I hope everything works out well. Do you feel up to sharing the whole story? Over 50 years ago, I cut the end of my ring finger off, my sister and I were playing with an old push lawnmower. The finger was cut off at the first joint and just haning on by the skin. the Dr was going to take it completely off. My mother beggged him not to because it was my RING finger left hand. (Thank you mom) The dr said he would try to save it, but I would probably never be able to bend it at that joint even if it did take. My finger is perfect. and that was 55 years ago. |
Steven will be in our thoughts and in our prayers for complete healing! |
Oh my You and your family have my prayers . poor guy. |
Oh Patti, I'm so sorry to hear this. I will send lots of prayers and well wishes to your family~ |
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. God can do awesome things! |
I'm sorry to hear about Steven. I'll pray that the fingers will be healthy and work well. And that Steven will have minimal pain and frustration with the hand. |
Steven says thank you. I phoned and talked to Steven shortly this morning. All your prayers are so appreciated. His fingers were cut off up to the first joint, the couple hour procedure of stitching them back on wasn't successful, he was in surgery again yesterday and the surgeon has stitched the remaining part of his fingers to the thick area below the thumb using it as a grafting procedure, in two or three weeks he will have more surgery on his hand, they saw several specialists and this one is a plastic surgeon and wanted to give this a try. To tell you a bit about Steven, he is quite a lad, when they were here to visit us he didn't want to leave his Grandpa's side :) such a caring boy. His favorite thing is playing the piano. He loves school and is never one to have to remind to study. Very thoughtful lad, he is always offering to help do one thing or another when they come to visit us. Steven will be 15 July the 4th. To explain what happened, he had put his hand up into the door jamb (not thinking) on the side where the hinges are and the door got closed onto it. It just goes to show us how accidents can happen so quick. Thank you all so much for your prayers from each of us. Patti and Jack and Steven and family. P.S. Thanks Yorkie Talk for bringing back the option of clicking onto the size of type.Much appreciated. |
prayers for Steven Prayers going up and hugs going out! |
Oh that poor boy. I know how traumatized he must be over all this especially in those difficult teen years where you have to be "perfect" in every way. I will be saying a prayer for him. Big hugs to everyone. |
Will keep your Granson Steven in my thoughts and prayers. |
As a registered nurse, I've seen this type of grafting procedure done successfully many times. :hands: :hands: for your grandson's speedy and successful recovery. |
I'm so sorry that happened to your grandson. :( He sounds like such a nice kid. Prayers going out to Steven and his family and you, Patti & Jack also. :hands: I also pray that Steven will be able to play the piano again, since it sounds like he so enjoys that. :hands: |
Thank each of you for all your prayers. I wanted to update you all on Steven. He goes back tomorrow for the Plastic Surgeon to update them. We are praying and claiming that the Dr. will give them good news and that she confirms that he will be able to undergo the reconstructive surgeries that is to be in the near future. Rudy\'s Mom, Steven is continuing his piano practice with one hand. I told him what you posted and he said to thank you. He is a lad of determination. Steven and his family, Jack and I appreciate each and all of your continued prayers. Thank each of you. |
I will say extra prayers tonight for him. |
:hands: :hands: :hands: for Steven, his family and his doctors. |
