I agree with this, too. There are many people who have VERY strong opinions are breeding. If someone posts a question on breeding, they have to expect a strong response. It just comes with the territory of posting this type of question. I don't think anything we say is going to change this.

ALL I REALLY NEEDED TO KNOW I LEARNED IN KINDERGARTEN
All I really need to know about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sand pile at school.

These are the things I learned:
Share everything. Play fair. Don't hit people. Put things back where you found them. Clean up your own mess. Don't take things that aren't yours.
Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody. Wash your hands before you eat.
Flush. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you. Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some. Take a nap every afternoon. When you go out in the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together.

Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: the roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that. Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup - they all die. So do we.

And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK. Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation. Ecology and politics and equality and sane living.

Take any one of those items and extrapolate it into sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or your work or government or your world and it holds true and clear and firm. Think what a better world it would be if we all - the whole world - had cookies and milk at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon and then lay down with our blankies for a nap. Or if all governments had as a basic policy to always put things back where they found them and to clean up their own mess.

And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out in the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.

You don't have to ask and it is a public forum but don't you think it should be done with a little tact? We are all human and have feelings i just don't think it's necesary to be rude about it. I didn't start this thread to offend anyone but i think it's time that we all reliez that everyone has feelings and you can have an opinion but you don't have to be brutal to get it across!

Well.....After being here a long time I've seen both sides....sometimes someone asks questions, they don't like the answers & get confrontational - then..... the flip side is......I've seen people get bashed for almost the same questions.

I personally try to use tack when posting but I think sometimes our passion comes out...Everyone is different - some more blunt than others but I agree -we should always use respect. Everyone is entitled to their opinions ...even if we disagree with something - it doesn't anyone the excuse to be downright rude.

and Dobie that even includes YOU lol - I don't know why you think people want you to leave...you grew on me your first few hours on the site and I think others feel the same way.:)

I agree with this for the most part. I have seen some instances though where someone just asked an inocent question and got slammed.

"WOW", this was the reason I stopped coming on YT for a while and I come back to see this bashing is still going on :rolleyes: . The infamous "TEACUP" word and "BREEDING" word, those two words are soooooooo dangerous on this site, peoples heads start spinning like the Exorcist when you say them :eek:.

But why? why does it have to be that way because a few people here can't say anything nice i mean come on we are not in Jr. High we are adults it should not be that way! So if i post something about breeding by what you just said i should just automatically know that someone isn't mature enough to post an opinion without bashing me?THIS IS THE PIONT I AM TRYING TO GET ACROSS IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE LIKE THAT!

Yes this has happened and I think all Amber is saying is to lighten up a little and try to answer the question with a little tact and not your emotions. I know its hard for me to think before I type but this is something we all should do especially when it is just a question. I mean really whats so bad about a question? Yes they may not like the answer but it is also in how the answer is presented that can cause heartburn!

Sad to say, but I see threads like this quit often about rude or disrespectful responses to posts... You ask why this has to happen? ..Well my opinion is it's just the character of the person & no matter what you say about ..it will not change..it's just who they are... With a site that has over 16,000 people on it it's going to happen, sad to say...I try to just totally ignore the rude ones...

Yep there are members on here that are just rude in their responses and I think it is just who they are too

Why? Bc some people are just rude. That's just the way they are. Nothing we say is going to change that....especially when it comes to a topic that they are passionate about. They thrive off drama. The best way to respond to these people is to just ignore them. That's life. You are going to meet people like this all the time. There's no way to get away from them. ESPECIALLY on a public forum with 16,000+ members.

Just because you have a strong opinion does not mean you have to bash or treat someone new to breeding like poop.
Remember that EVERYONE at one time or another was new to this. Questions should be answered at least and maybe even some background from the person answering. I.E. I did this and it did not work or Someone informed me this is not the right way or I found the answers here. Please research this before you consider breeding because it may have dire repercussions to your breeding program. etc.... catch my drift. I think that is all Amber was trying to say? Wasn't it Amber?

Well i guess it was just wishful thinking that mabey when they read this post that they will be more aware of how they say things. I know not everyone is going to agree on any topic trust me i am a very confrontational person and i do get that people like to see a rise but i really bums me out that we all just except that behavior here.

I agree with you. I'm not one of those people who responds this way. I'm just telling you, no matter how many threads like this are started, these people are not going to go away. Just put on your big girl panties (or big boy boxers/briefs/whitey tighties) and deal with it/ignore it. It's just they way these people are...it's their personality...people don't change.

Good posting Amber....I don't think I've been slammed for anything but I have also read some pretty harsh responses to "help" questions by people who immediately "yell" at them for the situation they're in, rather than giving any advice on what they asked for!
And the "don't like it don't read it" saying should maybe go to the ones who want to bash a subject they are posting their "opinion" to - if THEY don't like what that person is asking and don't have a suggestion for her/him, don't read/post!

Not sure if this will improve, but I respect your touching on this subject...

Yup I agree too. You will always have those. But Amber brought this to the front of everybody's mind and it may help next time one of us read something and think to ourself geeeeeeeeeez what a dummy or something like that and maybe when we think of this we will stop before we type something that would come across as bashing. Thats all my point is.
But yes you are correct sometimes we just need to cow(boy) (girl) up and move on.
