I hope your mom is OK! I'm glad that there were no very serious injuries. What a bunch of jerks. Good for you for getting down their plate number! |
omg, just reading what happened to you makes me so mad. I'm glad you guys are ok, and that the car wasn't damaged too too much. i hope the insurance company or the police find those stupid kids and charges them big time. |
Morning Brooke! Just checking in to see if there is any news on the idiotic kids who hit you. Also wanted to ask how your mom is feeling.....hope she is better today:) Hang in there - I know it's frustrating as heck for you right now - but justice WILL be handed out to them sooner or later - I'm hoping for sooner!!! Suzi |
carry a camera to help you remember Morning Brooke! So sorry to hear about your little episode last night. Glad it wasn't worse than it was.. hope your mom's neck will be ok too. I hope your insurance will do everything to find these morons!! i hope you will get your mom into the doctor to prove that she was hurt in case it comes up later on in a trial situation. The quicker she can get that date on the records as close to the accident as possible, will certainly help your case. take lots of pictures of your car, even if the insurance company already did that. I would also go back to the scene and take pictures of the conditions there too to show that it wasn't raining etc. I always carry a "throw away" camera in my car for emergencies like this. I know it is hindsight but it might help someone else at this point. Be sure and take a picture of the other car and the damages and also the people involved, especially the driver. i hope everything works out and you can get your car fixed without your insurance going up. Hang in there! Let the insurance earn their money!! :) |
OMG!!! Glad you guys are ok. I know how you feel i hate when these kids get their DL and think they own the road it's terrible.Glad it wasn't any worse. Good job getting the plate #. |
You must have been so shocked when they took off! You are probably right about them having drugs in the car...or on drugs! I cannot believe that the police are being so casual about it. You got the license number and they don't even have to do any detective work to find it. I'd think they'd be pursuing that...it's their job, right? I hope and pray your Mom doesn't have any permanent injury from this accident! Thank goodness you weren't all hurt! |
OMGoodness!~ don't they know they are not supposed to hit Stedman's Mommy! What in the world is wrong with them? That's too bad this happened. I'm glad you weren't seriously injured and the car is drivable. Hope they catch those kids and teach them a lesson. |

Ahhhh....I'm glad someone made another reply to this thread because I COMPLETELY forgot to do an update for it! And thank you Des also for reminding me, LOL. The insurance company called us last week and said that they found out that the car that hit us had stolen plates - go figure  Someone reported that their car which had been PARKED for over 2 months had the plates stolen off it - and come to find out, they matched the plates of the car that hit us ;) They wanted to know if I would be able to identify the driver/passenger, and the car that hit us as well. I told them you better believe I will  Just say WHEN! I am still so mad about this...I want these kids CAUGHT and PUNISHED! :thumbdown So that is the update so far...and hopefully we will hear back from the insurance company SOON! |
I hope all of you are doing okay after the accident. Hit and run drivers suck. The mentality that someone thinks it is okay to injure someone and run off w/o checking on the person...is unbelievable. I would like to point out (and I hope you don't take this the wrong way), but after your vehicle was hit, you stated you were steaming mad and approached the vehicle demanding to see their insurance. The problem is this,...while you were clearly upset, you were unintentionally aggressive towards them. You could've politely asked them to exchange IDs/insurance info. There isn't a reason for individuals to get violently upset. Yes,...people get hurt. But that is what we pay insurance for. So these insurance companies can can pay us...for the exhorbetent (sp?) fees that we pay. I've been in 3 accidents thus far. None of which were my fault. If anything, put yourself in the teenagers shoes...and see how freaked out/scared you would be... Also, if you are involved in an accident. (If your vehicle is driveable) You CAN move your car to the side of the road. It isn't a crime scene w/ a dead body in the road that must not be moved. You do this, to allow traffic behind you to continue moving. A lot of people do not understand this. And if a police officer shows up, he will tell you the same thing. I wish you and your family a speedy recovery process. (EDIT, I just read that the teenagers stole the car. That is why they freaked out. I hope they BURN in hell.) |
have fun with the insurance company  mine is currently fighting it out with the person's insurance who was involved in my wreck ::sigh:: better them than me fighting it out, I guess. i don't know what's worse...the initial wreck or the following days/weeks/months of dealing with the insurance companies and bills and all that fun stuff that and the chiropractor calls and lawyer mail...I don't think my dad liked it when I took one picture of the lawyer I got with one piece of mail, put it in a photo frame and stuck it by his bed :p Or when I take other pictures and taped them around the house hey gotta have fun somehow :p I'm sure you all are getting pounded with the calls and mails...but if not then lucky you...it's never ending  But I got through it, like I said, by messing around with my dad haha Gotta do something to keep you entertained when you're stuck in the house :p  |

And as for the teenagers being scared...yes, I bet they were. And they had good reason to be. Driving around with stolen plates and I'm pretty positive NO INSURANCE, after smacking into the back of someone...I'd be pretty scared too ;) This whole incident cost me $250 and it wasn't my fault. I have about $2500 worth of medical bills that I have left to pay after my eye surgery that I had back in November so I REALLY don't need this right now. That $250 that I have to now put towards getting my car fixed could have soooo gone towards something else that I needed it for. It's a pain and an inconvience and yes I am MAD about it. I think anyone would be  |
(EDIT, I just read that the teenagers stole the car. That is why they freaked out. I hope they BURN in hell.) I just have to say..i'm still a teenager and I wouldn't have freaked out like that infact I wouldn't even have hit her car in the first place. Burn in hell? don't you think thats a little harsh:eek: |
Ahhh, I hope this thread doesn't get too heated - if it does, ADMIN please just lock it :( And although the burning in hell thing may have been a bit harsh, I think I was too in my reply back to that poster. I do apologize...it is just that this is all very frustrating :( |
