My father passed away yesterday
 
My father passed away yesterday. He's been very sick for a while now and his fight is over now. Although its hard for us I'm very happy he's in a better place and is no longer suffering. I was with him when he took his last breath. Although my father came into my life about 7 yrs ago I knew I had to be with him. I forgave him and also asked for forgiveness for having so much anger. My parents have been divorced for a very long time and he put my mother through alot. My mother showed up and forgave him and also asked for forgiveness and held his hands....5 mins later he stopped breathing. I truely believe he was waiting for my mom. I'm in so much pain now and will be but I'm happy that I was able to forgive him...this was something that I held back all my life. I love him and know he's watching over us.


It was also Timmy's birthday and I totally forgot and remembered yesterday night. I will never forget this day.

I'm truely sorry for you pain and your loss. It sounds like you were able to make peace with him and yourself and thats wonderful that you won't ever have any regrets now. God Bless you and your family sweetie.

:( I am so sorry, I can't even imagine the pain.. I almost lost my dad a couple of months ago and I really didn't know what I would do without him. He raised us when my mom left, so he means the world to me.:( I am so sorry I hope you are okay . Please remember some good memories they will help you through. I will keep you in my thoughts and pray for you to have strength at this terrible time:(

Thank you all for your kind words. I never experienced death in front of me but I can say when he was taking his last breath it was very peaceful and I know he wasn't in pain.

I am sorry for your loss. I think that was the greatest thing you and your mother could have ever done it to forgive your father and be with him. I am sure he was truely sorry for whatever he may have done in the past to hurt you or your mom. I am sure he really was in peace knowing that you forgave him.

I'm so glad you had an opportunity to let your father know you forgive him and he was able to forgive you. Take that memory into your heart and cherish it, and remember it. So many don't have that opportunity. Many are not able to forgive or accept an apology.

That is a tremendous gift you gave eachother in your fathers last moments in his earthly body.

He may not have been the best dad but obviously he loved you dearly and was able to pass on filled with happiness.

Prayers will go out to you, your mom and all family members that are so sad over this loss. Bless you for being with him. I know he was at peace knowing everyone he loved was with him at the end.

I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad.
My Children have a similar situation with their Dad.I wish they would forgive him for not being there and move past all that. Life is too short.

Not many people have the opportunity to ask for forgiveness and receive it also. I'm so sorry for your loss and pray that you and your mom will be at peace. I think your father is now at peace and I think it meant a great deal to him to know the ones he loved whether it was perfect or not forgave him. Bless you all.

My heart goes out to you and your Mom. I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you in my prayers. I just lost my dear mom and my dad died 17 1/2 years ago. It is so hard and I'll be thinking of you as we both grieve the loss of a special loved one. *HUG*

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. How wonderful for you, your Mom and you Dad to be able to make peace with each other! I lost my sweet Mother this past July 18 .... it was my Toto's third birthday. I pray that God will bless and comfort you and your Mom.

Bless you during this time of sorrow! Knowing that he is in a better place makes it an easier transition.. I know it was when I lost my dear Dad...

I am so very sorry for the loss of your father. You and your mother must be very special people. There are not many people who could do what you did. Bless your hearts.
my brother just lost his son who stopped speaking to him about 5 yrs ago. my brother tried to make amends as his son was dieing.. to no avail.

For you to offer him forgiveness is very touching....it\'s so hard when we have conflict and you at least got the chance to put yours behind you.
