Please pray for my Dad
 

I know as long as I have been on YT that when we all get together and pray, things really happen...I really need my YT family now..My dad was told last week he only has 37% usage of his heart, and is going in tomorrow for the cardiac catherterization, they said if its bad they would do surgery right then, I wouldn't be really really worried, but my dad has been a workaholic all his life, he goes from the crack of dawn til late at night, he has done this every since I can remember, he is 69 and hasn't had any health issue till last May when he had Prostate cancer and had it removed, he has been doing really great till last month when he had a stress test and was having alot of pain, which I wasn't told any of this till last week, they told him at sometime he has had an heart attack, and has a very weak heart. My dad had 3 brothers & 3 sisters and we had to bury his sister last month, so now its just him so this has really got him to thinking...He is a God fearing man and what he says he does, He gives so much to the church and family, that I know God will take care of him, but my problem is I am a Daddy's girl and have always been, I live on 25 acres with my parents (different houses) so we are really close, I have grown up with just them, my grandparents on both sides had passed before I was born, so you see this is really hard for me, we try to go on a walk everyday with Max about 2 to 3 miles, and Friday when we were coming back up the hill, he didn't look right to me and I asked him what was wrong and if he was okay, my dad never complains, he don't like to take medicine or aspirin or anything, he is from Texas old school, but he told me he thought he had something major wrong with him besides his heart, he has been hurting everywhere. I have only seen my dad cry once in my life, he has tears coming down his face when he told me, which broke my heart, he said he didn't want to leave my mom & me. Please Please pray for him, but mostly I need your prayers also to be strong enough for him & my mom, we are your typical mother/daughter love hate relationship, but besides my children they are all I have...Sorry to be so long, I have bottled this in for so long trying to be strong & positive, and you all really are like family, thanks for just listening to me ramble...I love you guys....YT is the best...:love:

I'm so sorry your dad is having a tough time right now. And I understand about being "Daddy's girl". It's very hard to see your parents suffering and to see your daddy cry is earth shattering!:(

Sound like you have been very blessed to live to close to your folks. Mom's and daughters often have these love/hate things goin' on. Don't worry too much about it. Just try to be sensitive right now to her feelings too. This is when you can be a great daughter to her. :thumbup:

It's good that your dad trusts in God. That will help him through this time. God has plans for all of His own and He hears the prayers of His children. I'll send up some on behalf of your dad and some for you and your mom too. :)

Your dad and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers...

Sending prayers up for strength for you and your family as you go through this "valley." I know how difficult this can be as my Dad had heart disease as did the rest of family on his side. We are all so lucky to live in a country that when we face health problems we have faculties we can turn to. Take good care and take one day at a time and as you lift your fears, cares and concerns up to God He will answer your prayers.

They can do amazing things with the heart these days and your dad is in good hands. I'm going to think positive for a good outcome and I'm here anytime you need to talk.

When your Dad is sick it is not fun. My Dad is also sick and I have always been such a Daddy's girl.

I am so sorry to hear about your dad too...I will be praying for him & you also. I appreciate all of you and your prayers...I know this past year has been awful, but like I told V, God only puts things on you that you can handle and we will get through it...but it really sucks getting older...:rolleyes:

My heart aches for you and I know the worry and fear you are enduring. *HUG* Count on prayers from me for you, your Dad and Mom.

I am so sorry to hear about what is going on in your life right now- I can relate to how you are feeling as I am in a similar situation with my Grandmother and Mother. It is so hard to watch the ones we love in pain! :( I do believe in the power of prayer and know miracles can happen if you just believe that they can. I will keep you on my daily prayer list!

I'm really sorry to hear this. Do you know anything about his prostate cancer - are you sure they got it all? Could this be related to the cancer? Also, a weak heart can make you feel very badly, even hurt all over. Is he taking a cholesterol lowing drug? they can make you hurt all over too.

Prayers going up for your Dad right now, Kim. I'm a Kim, too and also a Daddy's girl so I know exactly how you feel. I know from recent experience that there are so many more options available now to treat heart problems than there were even 5 years ago. Don't give up!!


Father in heaven, please wrap your loving arms around Kim and her Dad. Give them strength to face whatever comes their way and faith to see it all through. God please give her Dad peace in his heart so that he knows YOU have him in the palm of YOUR hand.

I am so sorry to hear this about your dad. Have FAITH!!!
My dad was 86 yrs old when he died, and he was told at the age of 69 that he had only 26% use of his heart. He just really slowed down, did alot of sitting instead of standing, a nap every afternoon, and went to bed early, and he lasted 17 years like that. SO HAVE FAITH!!!! They have some really great drugs out there now adays that can help him tremdously.:thumbup: :D

Thanks to everyone for praying for my dad, I really feel like a miracle will happen tomorrow...I just got back from his house not to long ago and he is in a really great mood, they just got back from church and I was telling him about all of you praying(yes he knows all about YT) and he said that tomorrow will be a piece of cake, between all of you and the church and everyone else praying he isn't going to worry about anything...he don't know why he even has to go now....:) I will keep you updated tomorrow night...and again thanks to everyone from the bottom of my heart...:love:

Oh Kim, I will keep your Dad in my prayers, I truly understand what you are going through... Our Kim sounds just like you, she worries so much about her Dad..............:hands: :hands: :hands:

Your relationship with your dad sounds just like me and my dad. Your dad sounds like my dad and my dad had some cardiac probalems and I was so scared, more scared thatn I have been in my whole life so I know what you are going through. I will be praying for your dad to get well. I think after they take care of the blockage his heart function may improve. My FIL had a major heart attack and only had 20% function of his heart, after his heart surgery he had 30% function and now after 3 years it 45-50%. So things can get better especially with the help of the Lord and you have that with all our prayers too. I will pray for God to help you stay strong and get through this and to bring peace of mind to you and your family.

I am so terribly sorry about your Dad. When I began reading your post, I thought you were describing my Dad!! I totally understand how you must feel about him ... my Dad was my hero. I will be praying for him as well as you and your Mom. God bless and comfort you all during this trying time. Please keep us updated.

My Dad had congestive heart failure, and once they told us he only had about 6 months to live. He lived 6 more years, and was nearly 90 when he passed away last year. I hope and pray your Dad does well and has many happy years ahead.

I hope for a miracle for your dad. He and your family are in my prayers
