You are telling me just what I need to know. Tiki is gorgeous, a doll. Can you tell me what size she is?

Oh, I would love to have that Pashes baby. Is it more unusual to find the small Maltese than the small Yorkies? More expensive??

Little Bit is 4# and I love his size & would love to have a Maltese just the same size.

ChloeandDJ I noticed that you didn't note any differences in the two. Are you just being diplomatic?

My main issue, other than the $3000, is that Little Bit is extremely spoiled & gets very jealous and starts trying to get in my lap if I am holding one of my grandchildren. I really don't know if she would enjoy a playmate or just be jealous.

talk about CUTE dogs - The Maltese is just a living DOLL especially the puppies...OMG they look like little stuffed toys they're so darling

Mine certainly do have differences but like with any breed, they will all have different personalities. But the biggest difference is maltese are more laid back. They do not have that feisty terrier disposition. My yorkies are more feisty, and VERY needy for attention and much more into playing and learning tricks where as the maltese are much more relaxed in that area.

I think maltese are more expensive. Especially if you want a smaller one. I certainly think you can find one for cheaper than 3000 but I just love that little one's look and I wanted to share.:)

Stains are not an issue with us either. It really does have a lot to do with diet and environment.

I used to like you, really I did, as a matter of fact quite a lot.
First, you entice me with all your beautiful clothes, but now you're showing a picture of that gorgeous Maltese, dang woman ya want me to get a divorce so you can steal my hubby or what? Cause you know I now want that puppy big time, problem is my hubby will probably want it even more than me, and I will have to divorce him if we have three dogs. :p (He's been bugging me for another puppy, he wants a Biewer, I think we have enough dogs period, but he does love little Tiki, so that picture will melt him)
I'm not even going to show him the picture of Chloe, and your mom's dogs, man, what a beautiful picture that is! Simply stunning........

I was thinking the same thing when she posted....I don't think she likes me either, and I don't even have a hubby...OMG Maltese are beautiful and Jodi knows I want one...but 3000 is alot of money, I am sure she is worth it but they might just lock me up and throw away the key this time....:p

I have owned 3..thought I wanted to show them...they were wonderful dogs, but I can NOT do white coats. I bathed them non-stop and it was no fun to own them...

In any case, here are pictures of Tiki with staining, and without. I didnt' see these beauties when I posted before ....MAN ARE they pretty !! My first choice before getting a yorkie was a maltese and after seeing these pictures now I'm wishing I had one of each like you do - you guys are soooooo lucky - they're just TOO Adorable Surfi - you must be so proud

She is expensive, that's for sure. Obviously, you can find a less expensive one, but she sure is cute! :rolleyes:

That Pashes baby girl is adorable! I think overall, a smaller Maltese is going to be more expensive. I don't think smaller Maltese are less common than smaller yorkies though. AKC states 4-6 pounds being preferred for a maltese.
By the way, that picture of Chloe and your mom's 2 babies is absolutely gorgeous!

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to steal your thread. Tiki has had one too many treats, she went to the Vet on Thursday, and weighs 8 pounds, little fatty.
She is not long at all, but her little belly is getting a bit round, he thought she was fine, but I am cutting down on her treats. I would prefer she lost a pound.

I'm sorry, I can't answer your question regarding small Yorkies versus Maltese. I'm sure someone else can however...

I'm sure Little Bit would get used to a friend, it would just take a bit of time. And you my friend, would love a little Maltese, I'm fairly certain.......

Hmmm...Well actually...I am a sucker for a man that loves animals, it really says a lot about them...lucky for you I do have one of my own that loves the furballs as much as I do. :D

I think that baby is just perfect. I really would love to have her.:rollingey
