What do you do for a living??? I was just wondering what everyone did for a living. I sit at a computer all day and do data entry and payroll for a carpentry shop. They work on awesome houses so I get to see all the rich peoples houses. I also got to go into Bob McNair's house. He is the owner of the Houston Astros. |
i'm just a student... well and a mom to layla :) |
i am in administration for a nationwide tank rental company i sit behind my computer and answer phones all day and key invoices and send out invoices and thats about it. when i get home im a mommy to a six year old and 2 year old twins and to 6 month old frankster also 4 days a week a supervise my husbands tattoos and i do all the paperwork, money handling, ordering, and most cleaning and such for his buisness. so im very very busy |
I work in an insurance office. Mostly spend my time reading Yorkie Talk. My agent is retiring March 1st. Once the new agent comes in, my Yorkie Talk time will cut down. What a bummer. |
I am a yoga and pilates instructor. I have a small studio in my house where I do one mat pilates class a week and then see private clients on the pilates reformer and wunda chair. I teach a yoga class at Bally Total Fitness and then I teach both yoga and pilates for Ford Motor Company at Auto Alliance, Michigan Truck and the Loften Fitness Center as well as through Community Education with the YWCA. I have early morning classes M-F and evening classes M-T-Th with an occasional weekend session. During my freetime, I am a wife of 25 years and a mom to adult children (22 & 24) who no longer live at home as well as furmommy to Sissy and Angel!! I also sing with a small contemporary group that sings at a few local churches for weekend masses. |
I work for an Engineering firm in Houston in the Process Control field. I program the computers that control pressures, temperatures, flows, etc, as well as, open and close valves and shut down systems safely if something goes wrong. I also program the computers that the operators look at to see what's happening in their units. I work for the Oil and Gas, Food and Beverage and other industries. I have recently completed a project on an offshore platform off the coast of Trinidad and am currently working in the Pipeline division of a major oil company right now. It's really cool work and I really enjoy going to the office most days. As with anything though, it has it's ups and downs...:( I am also the Clerk at our church on the weekends. But by far, my favorite job is taking care of my furbabies!!!!! :D |
I always thought I would be a psychologist, airline stewardess or a designer. I ended up being an interior designer. In my career I have also worked as an architectural designer too. It is fun and I get to use my "right creative brain. My last big job was a kitchen and bathroom vanities for a new house in the Caribbean |
Sahm!!!! I am a Stay-at-home-Mommy.....to my children and furbabies!! I love it! My partner works with the Pepsi Company, and makes enough that I don't have to work outside the home.....plus, if I did get a job, we would have to pay for daycare and we would probably be losing money in the long run. Plus, I like having the day with our yorkies while the kids are at school and April is at work!!!! Lucky Me! |

I am also a student :) |
I am a corporate litigation paralegal at a large law firm. I'm starting law school on June 1. |
I'm in Pharmaceutical Sales. Used to be a manager but I traveled too much:( ...decided to go back to sales so that I could have my little furbaby! I'm a newlywed wife to my husband who's a commercial pilot...so, at night (when he's flying), it's pretty much Maggie Mae and I on Yorkietalk!:) |
I'm a student and I work full time at a manufacturing company as the receptionist and inventory clerk. I run around all day with my head cut off answering phones, taking customer orders, doing inventory daily, and invoicing. And I'm mommy to Keely!! YAY! Can't wait for her to come home.:animal36 |
I do everything my husband can't. LOL. That's my job title so there would be no time to work outside of the home. :) Mom to kids, a grown teenager/adult, lots of dogs, a few kittens, two hermit crabs, housework, yardwork, errands, PTA, cook, laundry and the list goes on. But I love it and wouldn't change a thing. |
I'm a Quality Assurance Clinical Research Auditor for a large Clinical Research Organization. I audit the data that the Investigators (physicians) gather and make sure we are in compliance with the FDA & ICH/GCP & MHRA regulations. It's alot of intense scutiny and familiarity with international government rules. I love my job because every day I learn something new and I know we are good at what we do and are helping people live better lives. I have three grown children away from home now. Two are married and one is still in college yet and getting married soon. It's just me and Tink at home now. In my spare time I sing with a group and also at church, run the sound equip. for my church (it's a big church) and sing and run sound equipment for others who need it and want to pay me.:D (church gets me for free):) |
I work for a company called Homeshare. We house a mentally handicapped woman (kind of like foster care) full time. She is 27 years old and she goes to a day program 4 days a week. I get to stay at home so that is a bonus. I have watched her for 3 1/2 years now and its beginning to stress me out. She is non verbal and pretty severly mentally disabled so its gets to me. I am not sure how much longer we will have her for. I would like to go back to working with the public but my dream job is the Humane Society..not sure if Id have to go to school to do that but it has always been my dream. Dawn |
I'm a student at USF (will be graduating in May). For now, I go to class and I work part-time in the Nursery at the YMCA (I get to play with babies every day :)). But once I graduate, I'm going into teaching while I get my masters in Psychology. But my favorite job is being a mom to Mr. Biggs, my very own little fur baby! |
I will be starting my new job Feb 27th. I will be the receptionist for the MSPCC (cruelty to children) |
I'm an Educator/Lecturer at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. I teach Professional Development for the School of Engineering (adjunct) and the Archer Center for Student Leadership Development. What that all works out to is that I teach a required course for Sophomore and Senior Engineering Students that teaches Ethics, Communication, Intellectual Diversity, Organizational Culture and Interviewing Skills. |
I am the Practice Administrator for a general surgeon's practice. I love my job, but it is extremely stressful. |
O yea I forgot I also work for Vector part time and I'm also a waitress |
I Am A Qualified Social Worker But Now I Work For My Local Government Housing Department. I Am A New Tenant Advisor And I Accompany People To View Properties, And If They Wish To Sign For The Property I Complete All The Necessary Paperwork And Help Them To Settle In. Much Less Stress Than Social Work. I Love My Job As I Am Out Of My Office Most Of The Day Meeting People. I Have Been Married To Dave For 22 Years And Have A 21 Year Old Daughter Kayley, And Not Forgetting My Little Baby Harvey Who Is 11 Months Old. |
i'm a student, too... when i graduate though, i want to be a vet:) |
I'm a full-time student (I'm a Nursing major, but it's looking like I'm never going to finish nursing school, so I'm taking business classes too) I'm a server at Chili's, which I hate, because people don't realize that I'm working for $2.13 an hour and they can't even tip 10%. (I realize that when I'm having an 'off' day, I don't deserve even 10%) :) I really hate working 25 hours over a weekend and bringing home $150... (I'm applying for a new job tomorrow!) :) |
I work in the office of a Lumber Company, I am over pricing and advertising. Mon-fri 7-4 and life is good. ;) |
Me too.....but, travel a lot.... Quote:
I have been in pharm sales FOREVER..........what specialty are you in????? |
I own a Country Store right off the Boardwalk in Ocean City Maryland. That means I spend most of my time buying inventory then selling it to the tourist. We are really busy in the summer and run a more comfortable pace in the winter. I am also the mother of 4 adult children, the youngest being a freshman in college. We also have 3 cats, 7 dwarf goats, and a few chickens. Kasey & Annie |
I am a RN in an emergency room. I have been nurse for almost 10 years. I worked in labor and delivery for 8 years and have worked in the er for 2 years. I have recently resigned my full time position and I only work 2 days a month. My husband and I have an excavating company and he takes care of all the jobs and equipment part of the company and I do the paper work and book keeping. I will go back to nursing sometime but right now its nice to have a break...I find that every few years I need a break away from nursing...but it is nice to know that I can quit my job and take a long vacation and at any time I can get another job on any given day at any given hospital...HUGE nursing shortage. I have a teenage daughter that will be graduating from high school this year :( :( and I have 3 dogs and a cat, and 4 nephews. |
