single on the most depressing day for single people :p this is my first valentine's day single in 4 years... so it's not going to be fun PLUS i'm studying all day for a midterm tomorrow night :( at least it will keep my mind off being single :) AND this year i have THE best valentine.. LAYLA!!!! so who else is with me tomorrow?

haha aww. thanks! i only find it stupid now that i'm single :p but it has given me perspecitve.. just a stupid day to get you to spend money!!! (which i still did.. i bought layla some valentine's things :) )

I hope I can be bitter at home :) We are supposed to get 3 feet of snow tomorrow with 10" by 8am which is fine with me IF school closes. I really don't want to be driving to work at 6am to make it to my 8am class!

If I get to stay home tomorrow I'm going to have a nice relaxing day with the monkeys, bake some pecan bars and a nice big pot of soup! And pray my power doesn't go out (EEKS)

i also hoping for a lot of snow... we are under a snow storm warning and i hope (after my parents return home safely) that it comes down! and my exam tomorrow is cancelled :) layla has a groomer appointment so we are going to go to that and then be snuggly all afternoon while i study :) sounds like we both have a nice day planned :)

At the risk of sounding totally whacked - I'M SINGLE AND LOVE IT! I guess that's probably a good thing since I have absolutely horrible taste in men!!! Valentine Schmalentine - just another wonderful day to me:D

I am single and don't have time to be depressed for Valentine's day .

I hate going to work on Valentines. It seems like a contest for who gets the most roses and junk, and I always feel bad for the ladies who get nothing. Plus I get mad at my DH who always sends flowers I end up having to pay for, when we both know there is no emotional connection between us anymore.

V day is kind of depressing for me too - my husband used to do the nicest things on Valentines Day and he can't anymore ....so all holidays are just another day now in my house too....:( it gets a little depressing remembering how it used to be that's for sure.:( I try to make them special but my heart isn't in it anymore...he knows he's short on time and is too depressed to appreciate anything so I pretty much think of it like just another day

:( :( that sucks !! I don't remember my job being like that - we always loved seeing people get flowers and gifts. Tell your DH ....JEWLERY is the way to go !!!

and ps for all us that aren't overjoyed about V day.....EVERY DAY WITH A YORKIE IS A HOLIDAY ! Just remember how lucky we are to have them in our lives :)

Oh Villette i had no idea your husband was so sick. i'm SO sorry to hear that... i can imagine that holidays are hard when he just doesn't have the sprirt to celebrate. but you are right.. i'm very thankful to have my Layla today.. she got a few valentine's day toys and has been happy happy with them all day :) she keeps me smiling :) and every year my dad gets me a box of chocolates.. so i was very very happy to wake up to those this morning.. layla can't figure out why i'm not sharing :)

It's just another day for me and Bud.
This holiday is certainly over rated. Even if you do get a gift there
is usally a price to pay for it.;)

When my phone rang and my granddaughter (5) said Happy Valentine's Day
G.G. that was the greatest gift of all.

Whatever you do today make it special for yourself. Your worth it.

and Carol is right - those of us who don't 'celebrate' can always do something just for ourselves - my plan will probably be laundry :eek: :eek: lol

dont worry , i will be spending it alone too, well without a man, i will be with lexi though...and thats good enough for me..... aint no big deal anyway.
its an over rated day thats all...

tell me about it, one of our pipe guys came in and was asking us what to get his girlfriend so i was like ohhhh a purse such and such so our sales rep steps in and says get her this juicy couture neckalce and bracelet and the charms to go with it, im like ok thats like how much and shes like oh about 200 maybe and we both were like ok we cant afford that.

they make a ton around here while we are getting paid monthly probably what they spend going out to dinner.
she was telling me about her being offered this job and another at the same time and that they were going to pay 7 thou more a month but that we pay her insurance and her car payments and all of her expenses such as gas oilchanges and such so she figured she would coem here, im like 7 more a month what do make here and i guesss she cant say i dont know but my manager here said he pays 3 thou a month just in child support and that his ex doesnt work and wants more money for herself, and you dont even have to write off child support so its like free money, im like 3 a month thats 3 times what i make a month, and i work my butt off, thats crazy

Well, to all of you that are spending Valentine's Day alone or rather with your furbaby, HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!! I am spending it with my family, which include our furbabies. No fancy, exspensive dinners by candle lit and flowers....that is hard to come by when you have kids.....plus, it really is a waste of money. I gonna make some black eyed peas with ham, cornbread, and collards.....sounds yummy to me!!

I'm so sorry. That's tough for you Villette. I remember those days with my OH. Now it's just me and the kids who are on their own and little Tink who give me thousands of kisses a day. So yep, I'm awfuly thankful for her. I hope things will not be too hard for you and your forever man.:hug:

I think and feel valentines day is more for the younger kids and more for new loves. When you get older they seem like just another day.

WE usually just go out to dinner and Hubby always buys me choclates and a sweet card. This year we didnt go to dinner we are snowed in and I couldnt get Hubby a card SO I copied and printed out the RED-NECK VALENTINE'S LOVE POEM someone on YT posted. LMBO yes I did .....and thats what he got. Only I changed some of the words around like the dogs name. and He read it all then Laughed, So it was good for a good laugh.

This is the 5th Valentine's Day since my husband passed away (way too young) in June 2002. ... and I just try not to think about it ... and I share the day with my daughter, Monday and now Friday!!!.... what more can I ask for? I know ... but thatz not possible!
My daughter has a nice b'friend so that is a plus ....

Yes, he did. He gave me a beautiful orchid plant. Anyone know how to keep it alive??:confused:
