He is a total s#*t. If that is how he is treating the years you spent together, you are definitely better off without him. I know it doesn't make it any easier right now, but soon you'll look back and be thankful this happened before you had any further time together. Are both your names on the apartment lease?

I wish you all the best and someone truly deserving of you. Your little Shorkie will certainly help you through this, as will we!!

First off I'm really sorry that's a pretty crappy way to break up with someone. Have you spoken to him about it yet? Seems odd to just do that out of the blue after 3 1/2 years and getting ready to move in together. I'd want to make sure he sent it and knew about it and that it wasn't just that one of his buddies or someone who got a hold of his phone and sent it without your knowledge. I'd confront him about it so you can have some closure at least if he did.

I have been through a good amount of breakups and they TOTALLY SUCK! Did you have an idea it was coming or were you guys fighting? It just gets to me that he did it over a text msg!!!!!!!! PLEASE!

What these guys don't realize is how good we treat them and then they leave us to move on and realize what they lost and then it's too late because you know if they REALLY loved us, they wouldn't break up with us in the first place!

I hope you are doing okay, where at in NJ do you live? We could go out and forget about him! :p

I live in South Jersey and I am 26.

I agree....but actually, I have heard that ALOT of people are using texting as a new way of telling someone "goodbye" - simply because it is the EASY way out. You don't have to face them in person, and you don't have to worry about hearing them cry, or yell over the phone - so they take the easy road and text.
