Hi Dobie, I was just wondering if Mrs. Dude reads yorkietalk posts? If so, I want to say hi to her. Do you have any pictures of your yorkies you can share with us? Would you tell us a little about your yorkies, such as names, ages, and personalities. I would really like to hear about your Yorkies. Thanks. |

Her name is Barb Peterson (Paur), not sure what last name she goes by now. She and her hubby raise mostly parrots, but at that time had lots of llamas, alpacas, mini horses, and a few mini donkeys. They live near Rapid City, SD. I haven't talked to her in a couple years, so I don't know if she still has all the llamas or not, but I know they still sell parrots. |

Okay, I just checked their bird site...it's Paur now. Used to be Peterson. :) I only see birds on their site, so maybe they don't have llamas anymore, or if they do they must not be trying to sell them. I feel bad for not visiting them in so long...maybe I should do that... |

As many of you have noticed in the past couple of weeks, YorkieTalk has been down and unaccessable, at seemingly random times. Our current server simply can not handle the current load of our members and the activity level. We've grown and grown and grown in the past year, but that growth does cause some problems. Thus, we need a new server for YorkieTalk. However, the new server will be approximately $2500 for what we anticipate will hold us for the next two years. With this new server, we will then be able to double (or even triple) everyone's Photo Gallery storage space, double the amount of PMs we allow, continue to allow unlimited attachments to posts, and be able to perform faster searches. YorkieTalk overall will be a lot faster and easier to use as well. We've already gone through three server upgrades, we're just amazed that we continue to grow so fast. We thank you for that! This is where we are asking you for help. Donations will help us greatly. If you feel YorkieTalk is a useful resource and can spare a few bucks, we would appreciate it greatly. You can send donations via Paypal to donations@yorkietalk.com or you can PM us for the mailing address to send a check or money order. This will help us out tremendously, as YorkieTalk simply can not afford a new server at this time. The ads and donations we currently receive would not be enough to handle the bandwidth costs and server costs, too. We'd also like to sincerely thank each and every person who has donated to YorkieTalk in the past, as you are the reason that YT is alive. It would be impossible to pay for costs for a community this large without your help! If we don't get a new server, we may have to limit certain functions on YorkieTalk, such as search, picture attachments, and the Photo Gallery. We've had to remove a few boxes from the main YT page because of this server issue. Any restrictions would be a last resort, and we hope we don't have to do that, but we may have to to be able to serve all Yorkie owners without the server crashing. Your contributions have helped thousands and thousands of Yorkie owners, and we hope we can continue to be able to be your Yorkshire Terrier community.
