Sadie does it, too, but the only time she does it is when she has a tummyache. That's sometimes my first clue that she has one & isn't feeling well.

Gizmo does it, and if he thinks you watching he will move it and bury it somewhere else. Sometimes we'll tell him, " I can see you" he'll grab whatever and go somewhere else. He is so funny and smart. :)

This is just their animal instinct. They do it because that what they would do in the wild to protect their food. Same thing when they poop, they throw dirt on it. It's funny, because after he goes in the pad, he gets out of the box and grasps the carpet with his paws like he would do in the dirt. We call it "the carpet dance" because if you see him, it's like he is doing breakdancing.

Tinkerbell does this too, she buries her food and guards it from Chiquito:rolleyes:, She will does the bull kicking dance, where she rubs her two hind legs:D she looks helirous doing it:D

Too funny! Jaxon does this with treats sometimes. He'll try to bury it on our bed or in a blanket. Also he'll 'hide' treats in a corner of a room (often many different rooms) thinking it's safe. We can totally see it but he thinks it's a good hiding spot. When you find one, he gets quite offended and gobbles it up!!!! :D

Max sometimes does this with treats, too. When Max was about 10 months old, I drove to my parents' house to visit (it's a 5-6 hour drive) and throughout morning and on the trip he had accumulated 6 treats in his bed. When we arrived at my parents my dad unloaded my car, including all of the treats that Max buried in his bed. :eek: Max began frantically looking for them in and around his bed--it was so funny to see. When I realized what he was doing, I took the pile of treats from the kitchen counter and put them back in his bed. Once he realized that they were there, he laid down an fell asleep. It was so cute. Thay are so funny sometimes :p
