Unexpected YTer Meeting 4 Attachment(s) Some of you might remember that my son moved to Myrtle Beach with his girlfriend back in November. Well, I few out just for the weekend to see him. Sissy stayed home with the hubby. We had a great visit and he is very happy with his decision. Before departing for the airport, we got some lunch at a drive thru and went to a park to eat since the weather was beautiful. This park has a couple ponds, many swings and benches and a great paved walkway that goes for miles. There were tons of people out walking, biking and walking dogs. Across the pond, I see a couple with a few dogs on leashes. I commented to my son - those look like Yorkies to me. He thought I was crazy and said I couldn't possibly recognize a Yorkie from across the pond. Low and behold, the couple walks around the pond in our direction and these are definitely Yorkies, 4 of them!! Of course I had to stop them and talk with them. Well, who might it be but a fellow YTer "Artie Merlino" her boyfriend and their pups (Mommy & Daddy(Artie) and two of their 20 week old female pups)!!! What a small world it is!!!! We talked for about 1/2 hour till I had to leave to get to the airport and catch my flight. Anyone looking for a female pup on the East Coast could not go wrong with the one pup that is for sale. Breeding quality, too!! Here are a few pics of my son, Cory, and I, our view from the hotel, the sunrise Saturday morning and he and his girlfriend, Liz. I didn't think to get my camera out when talking with the Yorkie gang as I was busy getting Yorkie kisses!!!! |
It sure is a small world! That's a beautiful view that you had from your hotel! |
Jodie ~ GREAT picture of you and your son. That's a framer. Every picture I see of you you just look so happy, the weekend must have been wonderful.......Beautiful view... |

and that's SO cool you bumped into her - it IS a small world |
WOW! What a slam-bam finish to a GREAT trip. We do live in such a small world -- it is amazing that we meet up with our YT family in the least expected palces! You have one very handsome son. His face- his eyes and smile reflect the love he has for his mamma! You just gotta love grown sons!!! He does favor you very much! And is gf is precious. Thanks for sharing your pics. |
That is just awesome Jodie! And very beautiful pics and I agree, you have a great looking son! |
Thanks for all your kind words. My son is not only handsome, but he is a very caring young man, who cooks, cleans and does laundry as well!! I miss him terribly. It was great to see him this weekend and his girfriend actually stayed with her mom as her sister was also in town, to give us some mother/son private time. He got a great job at Blue Cross/Blue Shield of SC with wonderful benefits and he is registered to begin at Coastal Carolina University Spring Semester to finish out his Bachelor Degree. They are hoping to have their own place by the beginning of March and he plans to "pop the question" June 1. I'm already looking forward to my next trip!! |
That is great! I know you and Joy chatted back and forth about possibly meeting, but she lived several hours from where you were, so that is awesome to meet another YTer --- and it being a surprise meeting too! That is great! I hope you enjoyed your "short" trip! That is wonderful that you got to spend some time w/ your son! Boy, he is a handsome guy, isn't he?! |
Jodie my mom loved Myrtle Beach I never got there myself. Youe picture are great and has one YTer said you look so happy. But whats up with he sock hat??? LOL.. my son wears is all year long |
You have a very handsome son and he looks so much like you. His girlfriend is really pretty and I know your going to have some awfully cute grandkids:D You will be keeping the skys hot for sure.:D Love the place you stayed right on the beach and all. I dearly love the ocean sunrise on the east side. I lived as close to the beach in Jacksonville, FL. as your hotel was, and the sunrise was always such a beautiful sight. It filled the house with a bright orange glow. How nice to find a fellow YT person. You really did have a very special time I can see. I'd be anxious to go back as well. |
That is an AWESOME pic of you and your son! AWESOME! He is gorgeous, and it's amazing all the features you share! Glad to hear he is such a GOOD boy, too! ;) As a mother of sons, it gives me hope. ;) |
What great pics - your son is sooooo good lookin'! Having lived in MB for 7 years before moving back to PA last Spring, I know how nice it can be there. Krysten is going back this week to get her degree in business. Coastal is a great school and I wish him all the best. I just never understood their mascot - a Chanticleer?? LOL - it's some sort of rooster. |
That is too awesome! Great pics:thumbup: |
That's so cool! I've never "accidentally" run into someone from YT. But every time i see a yorkie, I ask if they know about us, just in case. |
Hey That's Me! Hey that was me and my Yorkie Family! It's 2/13/07 and I have'nt been on YT. for awhile so it's my first time reading this thread (kind of late huh?) I walk the "Lake" as much as I can.....weather & time permitting? It was a pleasure/shock to meet a fellow YT.er in person but it was also a treat to hear how much someone else loves their Yorkie Babies!!! I give you credit though b/c I cannot imagine going anywhere without all 4 of mine! And I'm still arguing and debating over keeping the 2 puppies, my BF is constantly complaining that I have too many Yorkie's! Of course we are not getting rid of his favorite one? So that leaves my favorite one! So far mine hasn't gone anywhere yet? I keep inviting everyone out here to Myrtle Beach, SC. Especially to visit our Dog Park, it's a very "Pet Friendly" town. I thought my Babies were spoiled.......I'm not the only one! Anyone coming out here? You can't miss my Yorkie Family b/c we live right nextdoor to the Dog Park and there are 6 other Yorkies within a block of me so I guess you could say this is Yorkie Town! If you ever visit your Son again......don't hesitate to let me know I would love to see you again? Especially since you got your new Baby Angel! Congratulations! How are things going? I'm sure your very busy now a days! Aloha, Antoinette, Artie, Abigail, Tiger and Tiffany :aimeeyork |

Oh those are great pictures but the one with your son is the BEST! Looks like your trip was very fulfilling and looks like everything is going very well for your son  What else could a mother want :) I love meeting fellow YT members. I met Gracie2006 when I last visited Seattle and I know it won't be my last. |

I don't know when I'll be coming back, but I'll definitely let you know. I'm hoping my hubby and I can drive out for a week and that way we can bring the pups with us. Flying with two is just too darn expensive, especially when I have a friend who is willing to stay here with them. Angel is doing well and keeping me very busy. I have to watch her like a hawk since she chews everything!! She and Sissy are getting along pretty well. They wrestle and bite each other but play together too. We're still adjusting, but it's all good!! |
