3 Attachment(s) well... this was me a few months ago.... like 15 pounds ago... :p |
Those jeans are size 14's they were loose on me.. they only fit good straight out of the dryer! lol and those dress slacks fall off me now. I love those pants! bummer! Thats the biggest bummer about losing weight! losing the clothes you really love! Especially when you can't really afford to replace them... I'm really shrinking out of things to wear! lol |
Wow, that's amazing!! You're my inspiration!! :D |
Order "The Box" If anyone is interested in trying raw food but doesn't want to prepare it, you can order "The Box". http://rawvolution.com/ "Each week, Matt Amsden and RAWvolution create a box of prepared, organic, raw foods that includes two savory soups, four gourmet entr?e, four side dishes and two delicious desserts. This provides truly healthy food that you can bring to work or have waiting for you when you return from a long day. The box can be picked-up in Santa Monica, delivered anywhere in Los Angeles or New York City or shipped via Fed-Ex Overnight anywhere in the United States." I order the box every week -- this way I don't have to "cook" every night after work (although you really don't "cook" because the food is raw, you just prepare the food lol). :p And trust me, the food is amazing! :D |
Wow Kathryn, way to go! That other picture doesn't even look like you, or at least not what I know you to look like in your videos. Losing the weight has let your beauty shine through! Does your daughter eat raw too? I bet you have some great recipes you could share. I don't know of anyone around here on a raw diet, maybe vegetarian though. Are the things you use to prepare easy to find? I live in a area that doesn't offer many things so wondering if I could find those things here. I have a hubby that would try anything I fix, just don't know about my two boys. I would sooo love to lose some lbs. |
Thanks for posting the pics...you look soooooo great! |
Kathryn - I love that picture of you in your black slacks - I remember you posting that awhile back! You look great in that picture! Quote:

Well, that is understandable w/ the holidays and all. I lost weight from February - late Sept. Then, the holidays came around (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, -- everything in between) and I gained 8lbs! YIKES! I need to get back on track w/ something because I still have lots to go! |

Congrats. It's nice to hear success stories. I just decided to do something about my weight this year. I'm 189 and looking at 145. I like having meat on my bones and thats the weight I was nice and curvy. Now I'm just round LOL. But congrats on your weight lost Kathryn:) |
Congratulations, Kathryn, you look awesome!!! I'm 5'8" and have been putting on the weight lately.. I use to weigh 130 and now weigh in at 159... I'm dying here. My doctor thought it was thyroid, but it isn't.. I'm not use to being on a diet. As I always had a great metabolism, but now ugh!! I can't seem to lose anything!!:( I think if you can get down to 143, you would look great!! Keep at it girl, I'm really proud of you!!;) |

You look amazing! Dieting is so difficult so it's great that you've found something that not only works, but that you are also enjoying! I just may have to pick up a book of his... it sounds interesting. Good luck to you (and you too, Jen) on your continued weight loss. I can't wait to see some final pictures!! Oh, and don't be sad about not fitting into your old favorite pants... be excited that you can go out an buy a new (smaller) wardrobe!! |
You look so great and congratulations on your weight loss, I just needed to post here to keep up with what you are doing, I love success stories. After reading your post I to started eating raw and a bit of chicken for dinner, I will need to get some books and recipes for some variations. If you have any great recipes would you please share them. I tried ordering the box and the shipping was 45 dollars. I am not sure how much food is in there but for 145.00 I better learn to fix food for myself. Thanks for sharing your story, it is an inspiration for us all. |
Congrats on the weight loss! You look great! Sounds like a very interesting diet. Nancy M. |
When I get a minute.. I'll post the Raw Tacos! Its an easy one to do and its a SERIOUS winner!!! It converted My husband, my sister , my mom, father, Jen. and its changed the minds of countless people who before turnned their noses up at the idea of raw.... Its an awesome dish! It will really WOW! you!!! And like I said its EASY to prepare!!! I'll type it out a bit later for ya all! |
I am waiting and ready for a change!!! |
Soft Taco with Fresh Tomato Salsa! Ground Walnut Meat seasoned with Mexican spices, encased in a collard greed wrap and served with Fresh Tomato Salsa. 1 1/2 cups raw walnuts, ground in a food proceessor (to size of ground beef) 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin 3/4 teaspoon ground coriander 2 tablespoons Nama Shoyu (raw soy sauce) you can use regular soy sauce 3 to 4 small or medium collard green leaves (your taco shells;) ) 1 cup shredded romaine lettuce 1 recipe Fresh Tomato Salsa In a small mixing bowel, combine the walnuts, cumin, and coriander and mix well. add the nama shoyu (soy sauce) and mix well. spread aproximately 1/3 cup of the walnut mixture along the center stem of each collard green leaf, then add a layer of shreeded lettuce. top with aproximately 1/3 cup of the salsa just befor serving. Fresh Tomato Salsa EVERYTHING a great salsa should have, including enzymes! 2 cups chopped tomatos (I use as many dofferent colored tomatos as I can, and different types! It makes for a unique looking and tasting salsa!) 3/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (I hate cilantro, but love it in this salsa!) 1/2 cup chopped yellow onions or scallions 2 table spoons fresh lemon juice 1 tablespoon olive oil 2 cloves garlic minced or put through a press 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper depending on how hot you want it (I use 1/8, I suggest you start with 1/8 and then add more to taste, you can always add more, but you cant take it out once its in!!!) 3/4 teaspoon sea salt 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin 3/4 teaspoon ground coriander Combine all of the ingredients in a medium mixing bowl, mix well, and serve. This is by far one of the easiest meals to make and its a croud pleaser! My 9 year old son even loves it!!!! And a great hint.... you can make this in the moring or even the day befor! Its great served cold! or room temp... I like to double the recipie and make enough for lunch the next day!!! And I'll warn you.... Its super filling!!! When Jen came down she was amazed at how FULL she was after a single taco!! We both made a second one and she ate 1/4 of the second one and had to surrender!!! She just could not get any more down! And my own husband was just as amazed at the same thing! Its amazing how full you get on wholesome food! But you can stuff yourself on depleted foods! And your body has such an easy time digesting it because the food digests its self!!! Its full of enzymes!!! Enzymes that were ment for that exact food! When you cook the food you KILL those enzymes! And you then rely on your body to break down and digest that food... hence the gas, the bloating, the digestive upset! out bodies were not designed to breakdown all of this processed food, the artifical foods, the cooked and spent products that we feed it! This is the theroy's, science, whole basis of the raw lifestyle. and I have to say... given that eating raw has made so many positive changes for me... I have to agree with the thinking and science behind it... I don't deal with the digestive issues that I once did. I eat foods that are so nutritionally available and easy to digest, not to mention lower in calories and lower in saturated fats and higher in fiber and richer in vitamins! Anyway... I'm done ranting!!! Try the Tacos!!! Let me know what you think!!!!! I'm dying to hear your feedback!!! And if you guys dig um... I'll post a ton more fun meals for you to try!!!!! Tonight I'm making Mango sorbet!!!!! mmmmmmmmmm! K |

I felt like crap but I wasn't climbing up on the scales! Its not a fad, its just a very healthy way of eating... Don't get me wrong... I eat chocolate!!! Its just raw chocolate! I make it myself!! Plenty of nights we have had banannas dipped in chocolate sauce for dinner! We each get a tiny dish of rich chocolate sauce and two banannas... Its the best meal!!! And sooo good for you! That and some almond milk! Yum! Its super sinfull! but sooooo good! K |
