do you work from home?> if so..what do you do? I have a daycare. I am looking for other things to do as well.. |
no but that would be so nicee |
it has its up and downs believe me.. I will probably go outside the home when Savannah hits kindergarten since its all day! |
I've worked full time out of the home since I was 17  I'd LOVE a break - beleive me BUT...I'm too high maintence, so my husband thinks...and I always have to buy nice things. If its the latest trend? I gotta have it!:p Soooooo........I don't see a break in the near future :D |
I don't but wished I did. The luxury of doing things when you want to :) |
I worked from home for 3 years (im a hairdresser) and it had it ups and downs, great i didnt have to travel to work..downside you were never away from work! |
I've worked full time my whole life - I was on my own at 16-1/2 and finished high school while holding down a job - I was laid off my last job that I loved and the company closed or I'd still be there - I loved my job. This is the longest I've gone between jobs - 4-1/2 years....Aside from helping with my husbands now closed business ...I work on the side also ...but am in the process of job hunting. My husband seems to shoot down every possibility - too far away - not enough money - no benefits etc....(I think he's just scared to be alone now) :( ..but when the right one comes along I'll be back full time again. I do need something pretty close in case something happens to him... but my girls are going to be so so devestated - they can't stand me gone for 4 hours let alone more than 8. |
I worked as a claims adjuster for years and the work that needed to be done at home just got to be all of my time. get up....get me and little one ready...quick eat.....drop off at daycare....work....come home in traffic....cook dinner....get little one in bath.....go to bed.... my husband and i thought this is no way to live the only life you have. so i became a stay at home mom. i have done nothing for income. it has been very very tight but we make it. i have been looking into working out of the home w these companies , which are legit, i found them on cnn money.........LIVEOPS AND ALPINE.... all you have to do is get a second line into your home...they do the rest. basically you are taking orders over the phone for catalogs, some tv advertisments, etc.....cnn approved of them and so did msnbc. i am checking into them and want to start when my little one goes to school. so maybe you want to ck this out. YOU CANNOT BE BOTHERED BY ANYONE OR DO YOUR HOUSE CHORES WHILE YOU ARE ON THE PHONE. you have to be able to give full 100% commitment to the phone. you set your hours every two months and they expect you to work these hours. ck it out |
OHHHH i forgot....it has its ups and downs. believe me. i miss adult interaction so bad. all my friends work. i have no one (adult )to talk to during the day. you run out of things to do. you start looking bad. wearing husbands big tee shirts. ohhhhhh have i gone down hill. |

me to!! :):D :D |
i worked a few jobs from home before, not all at the same time. but i've transcribed doctor dictation to type written format. and also did a stint of photography and video. working from home by yourself requires a lot of self discipline. that means devoting time at home to work as if you're working onsite at the office. i find that trying to tend to house duties while working from home results in two jobs done poorly. not to mention, i find that i never quite leave work behind since it's so easy to just "work for a little bit" and have it turn into a whole sunday afternoon. in the end i prefer to work outside the home. work is in the office and stays at the office. home remains home, for personal things. |
I have been having a break for a few months. Not I don't want to work but under some circumstances, I am not supposed to and I cannot so I HAVE to wait. No exceptions but things are still manageable the way it is now with just my parents backhome, hubby, Siu Pao and birdie Chapou to care for. Hopefully there will be nothing big happens and crossing my fingers. |

I worked in a courthouse for twelve years and ended up just hating it. My husband wanted to live in FL and I figured he deserved it. We sold the house in MD and moved to FL two years ago. I was nowhere near retirement but I sure was glad to leave that job!! The state retirement really sucks there anyway so I really haven\'t lost a whole lot. Anyway, I certainly do miss payday but I\'m real good with money and since my husband knows that...he just lets me stay on ebay!!! |
