I've always worked full time since I graduated back in '73. I've worked in factory jobs..(like overtime when I wanted it, but hated mandatory OT), worked in a couple of offices and then I wanted to be home with my son. So I quit my admin. assist. job and started driving a school bus. Insurance is great, pay...not so much, but I'm off when my son is out of school. Pretty soon he'll be working full time in the summer (he's 16 now). I am making dog clothes right now to sell at local flea markets and fairs. I don't want an online store or anything like that. Sew in the winter....sell in the summer. |
I use to work full time jobs BUT I haven't work sense 2000. Does being a housewife work? Cleaning, cooking, taking care of my family & grandchildren Taking care of my 7 dogs is that work? Keeping up with my 16 year old son is that work? YES I work.....I just don't get money for it. |
I worked full time from 1972 until 2001. I had a closed head injury in 1999 and struggled with my job until I found a good doctor who did some tests and explained that i'd lost most of my comprehension abilities and short term memory. If it wasn't for my dogs:animal36 I don't think I would have survived. Most common tasks are mentally draining. I have always had my :aimeeyork babies to keep me going. I centered myself to learn as much as I could about dogs and grooming and play. They became my job. They give me purpose. I just love YT because it gives me an opportunity to learn more about these beautiful animals than I ever thought possible. It's hard for me to make new friends because my mental limitations are taxing for some people. The friends that I have made here are a special bonus in my life. I forgot, what was the question? |
no but i would love to open my own doggie daycare or groom place :D |
Awesome  Same here - in home daycare ;) Only I'm looking for NOTHING else to do - LMAO :D |
I would love to work from home.........I'm just not creative enough or business oriented. I grew up in foster care and went through their independant living program at 16........worked full-time and went to high school. Now, I am married (no skin kids yet) and finishing up RN school. I work part-time and do mystery shopping on the side. Can't wait to graduate and earn REAL money..........lol Jess |
After 36 years of working for our local city government, I retired in 2005. Not because I had planned to, but my job was eliminated. I started there right out of high school. I have adjusted to being home full time, didn't take long, and am loving it. I have had a small internet antique business for years and had planned on expanding when I retired but that hasn't happend yet. Got Jack shortly after I retired and have expanded the family to three :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :aimeeyork now. They keep me busy and entertained. So I love being home. I am able to spend a little of my day (or a lot) here on YT. |

sorry for the LONG reply :) . If you have any questions, you can pm me |
In addition to my pet clothing website, I do medical billing from home during the week and in the office on weekends. |
I have worked fulltime, FOREVER! started when I was 15... the only time I have had off is when my girls were born. Just recently, I have wanted, really bad, to stay home. I also have a 2nd job that is killing me. I own a competition cheerleading business that keeps me going 2 or 3 nights a week in addition to work... at least I get to bring the furbabies with me to the gym... we have our own mascots! probably gonna work forever.... d |
jessyrn do you seriously do mystery shopping i seen an add for it the other day like they give you a 1000 dollars to go shop and report what the business is like i would love to do that and work at home! lol I would make so much money since im dedicated to the computer and would save me tons of gas on my trailblazer! waitressing sucks sometimes! good money but sometimes not worth the trouble! |
I've seen those ads for mystery shoppers, too. I always wonder how legit they are. I work from home doing web design and I have an online boutique. I started my business about 3 years ago when I was put on STRICT bed rest for almost 3 months while pregnant with my daughter. I used up all my maternity leave before she was even born since I was stuck in bed, so I FORCED myself to make a successful home business. The other option would have been going back to work and putting my newborn in daycare, which I absolutely refused to do. :) |
