Are you on any new medications? This new medicine I am on made me feel like that for a week and my husband constantly had those symptoms when he was on a certain medication.

I have never been diagnosed with it, but pretty sure it's the problem I have had for quite a few years. Haven't had too many problems with it recently...don't know what I've been doing different. But, when I do have problems it usually gets worse at night for me and when we're on long car drives. I keep wiggling around and moving my legs and massaging them, etc. Nothing really seems to help so I just wait for it to disappear again. I never really learned what brought this on or was the actual cause.

Before I saw the commercials, I thought I was the only person in the world with the "Jimmy Legs". Like Villette - no pain. No sleep, either. Just a big pain in the butt trying to get comfortable. If I sit for any length of time, like on a car trip, I go nuts constantly changing positions. My knees and my ankles just feel like if they don't move, they will explode or something. Very strange sensation. But I just try to deal with it - hate taking meds. It's good to know it's not all in my head and I am not the only one.

That's what is starts like....sounds like you do have it and it runs in families from what I heard - you may want to ask your people if anyone else has it. I'm adopted but would love to know this kind of stuff.

When you get older - it does get worse....mine was pretty mild till the last few years and now I dread laying down some nights. My poor girls have been kicked by me at night so many times they know where to sleep to be safe now.

I read an article in the health section of the sunday newspaper. Although I don't have rls my husband does and he wakes me up a thousand times a night. So I got the bar of soap and put it under the sheet on his side of the bed and you know what? I have gotten some really great sleep since then. You just have to remember it's there when you bundle up the sheets for the laundry or you are gone to have a mess.
p.s. I used Dove but the article said any kind of soap.

I get the magnesium and calcium supplements at Wal-mart. You can get them with zinc in them too. The dolomite I get on-line at drugstore.com. Neither one of them are very expensive. Try picking up some and see if it helps. It certainly won't hurt.
